About Susan Cameron

We moved to Daviot in 2006 and had a family, the boys are now 11,9,9

Living next door to the Old Police House and watching it decay and ruin we decided to save the property and bought it...Then started to renovate the house, with a holiday cottage in mind...we had a good team of builders, stonmason's and joiners. The project took 18 month to complete and is now an amazing home.

Susan Cameron purchased this cottage in 2015

Why Susan Cameron chose Inverness

The Old Police House was in a state of Disrepair and living next door It was the prime opportunity to do something with it and turn it in to a holiday cottage.

What makes this cottage unique

The History of the house was fascinating as it started around 1880 as a local grocers shop then around 1945 it was auctioned to the police where the local Bobby stayed and looked after Daviot and Strathnairn. It was then used by a local housing association and was not looked after very well...Then we transformed it to how it is today.

Excellent accommodation. Would highly recommend.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Old Police House for a week. The house was very clean and comfortable with excellent facilities and has been fitted out to a very high standard. Everything we needed was provided as well as lots of nice extras. We had plenty of towels, showers were very good and kitchen was very well equipped. Sadly it was rather cold so we didn't use the garden, but there are lovely seating areas for warmer weather. House is in great location, very close to A9 but quiet. We have stayed in very many places all over Scotland and this was one of the best. Would definitely recommend. Thanks very much Susan.

EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

I don't think there is one think more for me to add that other reviewers have not already said. I would just like to confirm that they are right!! We visited six VRBO/Homeaway properties during our three weeks in England/Scotland. This was by far our favorite. We immediately felt "at home"!! Susan does a great job and thinks of EVERYTHING you may need and more. I highly recommend this property.

This is a worthy choice!

  • 5 of 5

This house is elegant, well-furnished,comfortable and beautiful in a tranquil setting, and yet, 15 minutes' drive from Inverness centre. From here, I drove to Highland, past Portree to Uig and back same day. My family enjoyed our stay in this house very much. Susan is a great host who answered my call and came over in a few minutes, when I didn't know how to lock the front doors! Overall, this house made a perfect start to our first vacation in Scotland. Susan, keep up the great standards!

Perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the Old Police House for 3 wonderful nights in June. It was exactly what we needed and wanted after being in the big cities. The house was gorgeous itself and had some great views from the front deck. It was stocked with everything we needed and sitting by the fire was a great end to long active day in the highlands. Susan was wonderful and met us to show us everything we needed when we first arrived. She's truly thought of everything as we had a problem with our rental car and right in the main room were business cards for a taxi should we need it. We were able to take the taxi to the store to pick up supplies until our car was fixed. In the end, we wish we had only spent more time at the Old Police House on our Scotland tour, it was the highlight stay! Thanks for everything

Jon and Kim

The Old Police House was everything that we hoped for and more!!

  • 5 of 5

Susan should be very proud of this beautiful cottage that she has restored. It was the perfect "home base" for our family as we toured The Highlands. The Old Police House was outfitted with everything that we needed and the beds were amazingly comfortable. We will definitely book again when we come back to Scotland.
