The Lighthouse is a large, luxurious holiday barn, to sleep 16 adults in 6 spacious bedrooms all en-suite. This 'state of the art' property has only just come onto the holiday let market and is bursting with the most amazing far reaching views. Set amidst 70 acres of rolling Derbyshire Dales it occupies an enviable position. The huge entertainment area has a large dining area to comfortably seat everyone around a beautiful large oak dining table with high back leather chairs. Whilst the lower area boasts a huge feature arched window with ample comfortable "Orangery Style" seating, two widescreen TV's and a feature log burning stove. The Galley Kitchen has been equipped with everything you might need to cater for large groups, including 2 dishwashers, a wine chiller, large American style Fridge/Freezer and large range cooker. The Lighthouse Barn has a 'nautical theme' throughout with soft furnishings in blue's and aqua & sand colours with stunning pictures of lighthouses and coastal scenes everywhere. The Lighthouse Barn has its own private tarmac drive and ample car parking area at the rear for up to 20 cars, and has dawn to dusk lighting. There are numerous breathtaking walks right on your doorstep.

There is a further option to add The Coach House Barn to this property to sleep a further 4 guests in 2 bedrooms both en-suite.

About Mrs Jan Hammond

Edward & Jan Hammond purchased Uppermoor Farm in 2008, at this time a very run down dairy farm with a 3 bedroom Cottage Farmhouse and tumbling down stone out buildings consisting of dairy sheds and calf/goat pens. Extensive renovations began in 2009 to extend the stone outbuildings into the main Farmhouse and the calf/goat pens into The Coach House Barn. In 2015 building works commenced on The Lighthouse Barn two former old Dairy buildings to convert into a beautiful large holiday barn/events/wedding venue.

ladies cycling weekend

We had a fabulous stay at Lighthouse Barn in June 2018. Jan was very accommodating & helpful and greeted us as soon as we arrived. The barn is stunning & made our stay in the Peak District all the better. It sleeps 16 but as there were only 13 of us we had plenty of space & dining was made very easy with the massive table & well equipped kitchen. As cyclists we were keen to keep our bikes secure at night & there was a large lockable storehouse that we were able to use. We rode on the Tissington trail to Ashbourne & Buxton & Carsington Waters all of which were easily accessible from Lighthouse Barn & whilst we are road cyclists the surface on the trail was fairly suitable for our smooth thin tyres. We had an excellent weekend & would not hesitate to return to the area & especially Lighthouse Barn one day in the future.

Beautiful Property, Couldnt ask for more

From the first meeting with Jan the owner, the whole experience was just amazing.

The building, the decor, the grounds, which were just perfect for our photography training week.

The delegates had a fantastic time, and enjoyed the grounds and cant wait to come back next year.

The property is furnished and kitted out to a VERY high standard, I wont go anywhere else now for my residential training.

The different areas in the building in the living area made it easy to separate out into different groups.

A special thank you to the owners for their warm welcome and very good communications throughout the whole process.

Beyond our expectations

18 hookers (crocheters) had an amazing weekend of partying and catching up in the most stunning if surroundings. We meet once a year and this was our third meeting. After being to two previous holiday lets this accommodation is way beyond what you see in the photos. The attention to detail is stunning. The house, the grounds, the bedding, furniture, all in the kitchen, everything was amazing. Jan was accomodating and able to help with any requests.

If you're looking for accommodation to leave an impression this is it. We honestly can't recommend it enough.

Wonderful place to spend a weekend

The barn is a perfect getaway spot and has everything you need for a wonderful break. it is clean and warm with high spec fixtures and fittings. Jan is a great host and made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

space for everyone

We've just returned from having time away at the Lighthouse Barn with our extended family and friends. We were able to relax , entertain and welcome friends and family in this lovely venue. The kitchen was one of the best equipped I have encountered in a self catering property and it was great to be able to accommodate everyone for a sitdown meal round a large table. the bedrooms were spacious and we had no queues for the bathroom with all the en suites!!

We enjoyed building our snowman and going for a walk but in nicer weather there was so much else we could have done. A lovely hpouse in a lovely area. and special thanks for the welcome.

You will be provided with a copy of our standard terms of business for your records and we require you to complete and sign our house-keeping document which again is provided to you at the time of your reservation request.

25% Deposit is required to confirm your reservation. Balance is payable 12 weeks prior to your stay. House/Security Bond is due 14 days prior to arrival. This is usually returned withing 5 working days providing no damage has been incurred during your stay.

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
