Overview

About the property

Large but cosy flat, with modern feel & vintage twist.

I'm going away for a month during summer, so renting my room while i'm away. The room is a good size double, with it's own bathroom (my flatmate has her own en-suite) desk, wardrobe, drawers and views of the Olympic stadium.

You will also have use of the large communal living room / kitchen, which also has a balcony with wonderful views.

The flat is located in the trendy artists quarter, Hackney Wick, a short walk from Stratford.

The Space

The entire flat is around 88 SQ M, with a super spacious open planned kitchen / diner / living room area, which also houses a large balcony that over looks the olympic stadium, regents canal and canary wharf. The living room has a TV which you can make use of. The kitchen has a fridge, freezer, oven, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, juicer, blender and dishwasher, all of which you are free to use. The kitchen is fully equipped with plates, cutlery, saucepans for you to use.

You will have access to the main bathroom, essentially as sole use as my flatmate has her own en-suite. The main bathroom has a bath, shower and a cupboard which houses a washing machine / tumble dryer, which you are free to use.

I do have a cat, she's cute and friendly, she may or may not be in the flat during your stay, we try to keep the house as free from pet hair as possible, but if you are allergic to animals, this flat probably won't be suitable. Unfortunately as I already have a pet in the flat, not other animals are allowed.

The flat is situated in a secure gated building, which has 24-hour concierge. There is a courtyard, with a small patio area which you are free to use.

The flat is located on the second floor, with lift access.

Interaction with Guests

I won't be available during your stay, as I will be away in Berlin, however my flatmate will be free to offer advice for your stay.

The Neighbourhood

Hackney Wick is considered as the artists quarter, an urban industrial estate that houses many warehouse-conversions, offering live-in work spaces for many artists and designers. The area has a very arty feel, due to it's residents, and you'll find graffiti lined streets and pop-up cafes. If you're lucky enough to be here for the Hackney Wicked festival, you'll get to poke around some of the artists studios and enjoy some of the many open air music and theatre performances and pop-up markets. The counter cafe at The Stour space (just under our building) offers great breakfast and brunch, amazing coffee from it's own roastery, head to it's sister venue 'crate' just along the canal for stone-baked pizza and crate brewery beers.

A short 15min walk takes you to Stratford, which houses Westfield shopping centre - Europe's largest shopping mall, as well as the Olympic park and Aquatics centre.

15 mins along the canal takes you to Victoria park, London's most visited park, with two playgrounds, canals, ponds, decorative gardens, wilderness areas, a pavilion, tennis courts, a skate park and a sports ground. During the summer, Victoria park houses many open-air concerts and festivals such as Lovebox and Field Day.

Hackney wick is well connected with easy quick access to other parts of East London; Bethnal Green, Dalston, Brick Lane, Hackney as well as central London, West End, or south bank and south London.

There is a convinence store located directly under the building.

Getting Around

The nearest station is Hackney Wick (a short 5-10 min walk) which is on the overland. Hackney Wick is one stop from Stratford which connects to central line, Jubilee line, DLR and mainline trains.

Hackney Wick also has many bus links; 26 / 8 / 388 / 488 / 30 / 236 / 276 & 339 with night busses 26 and N8.
