Sophisticated living in a modern 2 bed 2 bath apartment with sea & town views

No. 22 Horizons, Newquay is a stylish contemporary 2 bed 2 bath third floor apartment, centrally located with an amazing view. It offers the best of town and beach accommodation, allocated secure parking, a lift, use of a small gym and indoor pool area, plus WIFI to keep in touch with home or work. Its a perfect location from which to visit the rest of Cornwall.

It is a stroll to shops, pubs/restaurants and beaches, cliff top walks are nearby and every night you come back from exploring the surrounding area to that view – which is great night or day!

We want your experience with us to be one you enjoy so much you come back. So, In the last year we have put in a soft blue leather sofa, radio, and a telescope and binoculars to see the boats and boarders. Everything we would expect to find in a quality holiday apartment is included. WIFI, laundered linen, nice bathroom towels, a range of kitchen equipment and new appliances.

For simplicity sake, Bookings are only made on Owners/Direct/Home Away and in peak season run Sat. to Sat, but we have one 6n stay Sunday-Saturday 19-25 August 2018 and pre-Easter 4to8 N stays ending Sunday 1 April.

Our apartment offers stunning views over the town and out to sea from the large drum shaped glass windows and balcony that wraps around the living area. The balcony is wide enough to take 2 chairs and a table making it great for drinks or breakfast!. We are the apartment one floor off the top of the building - which is an advantage as you get the penthouse view but you don't hear the scrabbling of the seagulls on the roof! The main bedroom has a full glass door onto the balcony and both bedrooms have sea-view windows. The kitchen window has an interesting porthole that looks out towards the nearby church.

The apartment provides a fabulous vantage point to watch the sea come in and go out, so you can judge when you will get lots of sand for that essential daily beach walk or sandcastle build! You see a panorama from the headland to Watergate Bay and the blinking Trevose lighthouse at the end of the cliffs beyond. Sunrise is stunning; sunset is subtle, watching the movement of boats and boarders around the harbour is fascinating and our 20x terrestrial telescope (or binoculars if you prefer!) provides an even better view. The night-time panorama is as good, if not better, than the daytime one – it really is an amazing view. This Autumn in early evening Starlings have flown in murmurations around the Horizons block and church. We hope they will continue to perform as they are fascinating to watch.


The apartment offers sophisticated living for up to 4 occupants. It is perfect either for couples or a family with 2 children. It has a spacious nature offering contemporary design and comfort in an easy to maintain holiday apartment in which you will quickly feel at home. Wi-Fi is available so you can keep in touch with work if you need to. Nearly all our equipment was replaced recently so you know it is going to work.

Whilst you are in the apartment, or out enjoying yourselves, your car can remain in our secure underground garage with it’s CCTV. As you drive into the garage our allocated space in the corner is the largest space, which facilitates easy unloading. Those needing disable access have found that large space invaluable as it is then flat to the door that leads to the lift!


The apartment offers a perfect mix of town and beach living whilst also being centrally located with numerous cultural and fun attractions throughout Cornwall nearby. It is in an ideal position for those who want to explore this part of the UK.

Everything you might need is on your doorstep. The town offers a wealth of shops, harbour, cinema, bars, restaurants and cafés for breakfast. You can walk to Aldi, Asda and Sainsbury's supermarkets and Morrisons and Lidl are on the edge of the town, making it is easy to get food in if you want to cook. There are lots of places to eat from pubs to the Atlantic's Champagne Bar and Jamie Oliver's Fifteen a few miles drive away at Watergate Bay.

There is a selection of wonderful beaches that you can walk to with most offering water sports training. Towan Beach next to the working harbour, is just a stroll of 6 minutes and Fistral is located on the other side of the nearby private golf club. It is possible to leave your car in our secure parking space all week and just walk everywhere! 

For our visitors who fly in Newquay Airport is only 7 miles away. It has Hertz and other car rental available, plus the local bus meets most planes and brings you to the bus station just 2 roads below us. The towns train station is just about walkable with a wheelie bag.

DIsabled Access. We have had a number of disabled visitors who have informed us that our apartment is good for people who are less mobile. There is flat access to an elevator that takes you directly from the basement car park or front entrance to the 3rd floor. We have installed a grab-rail in the marble family bathroom, and the ensuite has a shower. The doors are wide enough for a wheelchair and we have a tub chair with arms that is easier to get out of than the soft settee!

Unfortunately for dog owners the apartment is pet free since we re-carpetted the bedrooms and hall, but that is good for people with allergies, especially if they like carpet under their feet when they get out of bed. 

We love the quality of our apartment, so we restrict singles groups to over 21s, but if anyone in your party is slightly younger, please send through an enquiry to discuss your booking with the owner.


Entering the apartment's carpeted lobby, you will see the family bathroom and two bedrooms in front of you. Both have views to the headland and out to sea and the main bedroom has an en-suite shower room and direct access to the balcony.

To the right is the wood floored open plan living area with the dominant circular glass full height windows and the balcony accessed via double-doors. There is a small table and 2 metal chairs on the balcony which is about 4ft wide so you can sit outside (except at windy times of the year!). In the Summer, the double glass doors, when open, provide a natural extension to the living area and when closed in Winter the underfloor heating makes the living area a cosy 20 degrees whatever the weather is outside! There is comfy leather seating, a 40" TV, Roberts’ radio and a DVD player if you get bored of the amazing view. An extendable table and 4 comfy dining chairs are towards the kitchen and the rest of the living space is a long galley kitchen, that provides everything guests could require from a dishwasher to a coffee machine, washing machine, ironing board and cleaning equipment. For cooking there is a gas hob, electric oven, grill and a microwave.

Unusually for this block - WIFI is available in our apartment.


* Lift to all floors – making it wheelchair friendly (the main bathroom also has a wider door than usual).

* An allocated parking space for one car (watched by CCTV) No.22 has the biggest and best space in the underground car park.

* Communal heated small indoor splash-pool, next to a gym with small sauna cabin, this area also has a shower and toilet.

* A ground floor sun terrace opens from the gym area.

The apartment is well suited for families and couples as it has both an en-suite shower room and a family bathroom that also has a shower facility over the bath, both have electric towel rails. The elegant bedrooms, contain 4 single beds that are usually set up as a double and a twin. With notice the twin beds can be zipped together. Both bedrooms have ample wardrobe space, elegant curtains that match the bed dressings and white blinds on the windows. All blinds are usually pulled up to expose the sea views, but they can be lowered to create blackout!. On arrival white linen will be fitted on the beds with bath and handtowels laid out ready for you to use – please bring your own beach towels, hair dryer and a bar of soap if that is your preference.


Newquay is brilliant for surfers or beach lovers at any time of the year, but it also is surrounded by a lot of countrycultural places to visit. 

In the town the nearby sandy beaches are perfect for lying on and making sandcastles - or you can be more active and surfing or paddle board (on your own or in classes). Horizons is also a great location for hiking, plus there are fishing and diving trips available near the harbour. On damper days youngsters fathom out our PS2 player with its discs, play games found in the cupboard or try the communal splash pool or the towns games Arcades, Aquarium, Pirate Experience, or Cinema. In the Summer you can take a day bus trip to other places like St Ives (bus station is 3mins walk).

The owner's favourite beach in the world - Watergate Bay - is a short drive away. It offers the Extreme Surf School, the Beach Hut Café and Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Restaurant. You could walk along the cliff top (approx. 90mins walk - 4 to 5 miles) and reward yourself with a hearty Beach Hut breakfast before walking back... or catching the hourly bus to Newquay Bus Station 2 roads down from the apartment.


The nearby airport now has a flights from Frankfurt (March-September), Manchester, Gatwick, and Heathrow in 2018 we believe that more flights from Germany are planned. The roads from London continue to be improved. The A30 has been dramatically improved by the introduction of a dual carriageway across Bodmin Moor. The town's main bus station is just a two roads away with “regular” buses to London, Bristol and other towns, services are more frequent throughout the Summer. Horizons is about 10 minutes from Newquay train station - with a trolley bag!

The apartment mixes the best of beach and town living in a great location that offers easy access to all of Cornwall.

I was looking for a detached property to renovate and found this great Newquay apartment in by accident. It made me go WOW! when I walked in - and it will do that to you to. It has a great location, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, a fantastic view, allocated secure parking and WiFi, so we knew it would be a good property to let. Finding it had a tiny pool and gym was the icing on the cake.

The apartment is designed to deliver a 5* experience without being in a restrictive hotel. The view is amazing - it's town/sea vista is great night and day. As a location from which to explore Cornwall it is hard to beat. Although contemporary in decor it feels like home as soon as you make your first cup of tea and stand looking at that view.

Great apartment in a great location!

Just returned from a week here and had a fabulous holiday. The apartment is in a great location, well equipped with everything necessary to make our stay comfortable (cream tea a delightful bonus). It's only a 10 min walk to Towan beach, shops and restaurants. Plenty to see and do without using the car and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to visit Newquay.

Amazing views, very convenient, quiet and peaceful for a rechharge!

Apartment is modern, clean, warm and comfortable. To be greeted by a cream tea was a lovely touch. The views are fantastic - a bird's eye view of the lifeboat rescuing a fishing boat and the wonderful sight of a murmuration of starlings every evening! Plenty of places to eat and walk and short drives to local attractions. A lovely place to stay.

For some reason the starlings have been flying in formation around us just before dusk since Autumn 2017. I really hope they continue to perform as they are fascinating. Absolutely perfect...

We stayed here 21-28th October. Beautiful 2 bedroom spacious apartment with fantastic views, perfect location and pretty much all you can ask for as a holiday accommodation. Caroline was extreamly helpful when booking this apartment and always got back to me with any queries I had. We had two teenage boys with us who had plenty to do within walking distance who also really enjoyed their break. Highly recommend this accommodation. Thank you so much.

What a view from the balcony!

We really enjoyed our stay. The apt. is quiet and comfy and access to town is walkable in 5-10 minutes. Bring your binoculars, you’ll really enjoy the view; we had ours along. If we’re in the area again, we’d certainly return for another stay.

This apartment offers the best of contemporary living in a brilliant location that offers town and beach on your doorstep and a fabulous view both night and day!

Centrally positioned in Newquay the apartment is a short walk from the town centre with it’s harbour, restaurants and bars. The town is surrounded by some of the best beaches and tourist attractions in Cornwall. The famous Fistral Beach with the Stein Cafeteria Restaurant and other eateries is about a 20 minute walk away across or around the golf course. Watergate Bay with it’s Extreme Sports Academy and Jamie Oliver’s 15 Restaurant is nearby in one direction and Hollywell Bay with its huge sand dunes is almost equidistant in the other. The Eden Centre, Tintagel, Padstow and many other places are a short drive away.

Prices will be as agreed between the holiday maker and owner for the period of rental.

If space is available the rental rate of any extension to the initial rental period is negotiable and must be paid prior to the commencement of any second period with the security deposit held intact.

The £200 Reservation Deposit is non-refundable.
Bookings cancelled more than 60 days prior to arrival - full refund of any advance rental payments received
Bookings cancelled 30 - 60 days prior to arrival - refund of 50% of any advance rental payments received
Bookings cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival - no refund of any advance rental payments received
Early departure does not warrant any refund of rental payments received

Assuming the renter has complied with all conditions the Security Deposit will be refunded in full 7 days after departure.
If holiday makers do find something missing on arrival please tell us immediately or you could be charged.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
