About the property

Pencroft is a refreshing, stylish and welcoming home with a superb garden and peaceful position in Carbis Bay. Tucked back amongst the trees and a babbling brook at its feet, Carbis Bay beach is just a 10 minute walk away, St Ives is 20 minutes away by a short walk followed by a train trundle plus there are local shops and a handful of restaurants for provisions. Carbis Bay beach restuarant offers you the chance to relax, sit back, sip a glass of your favourite tipple and enjoy some delicious food while watching the sun set behind St Ives. If you fancied dining in and alfresco, you have an enclosed private south-facing garden with a large table and set of chairs to seat six. There is a real sense of outdoor/ indoor living with the trifold doors leading from the living area onto a decked terrace and into the lush garden. Rest assured, if you bring along your dog, the garden is well-fenced and even the best escapologists will be challenged!

Inside you can't beat the seamless style that makes you want to relax, kick up your feet and melt into your surroundings. Being open plan, there is a true sense of family unity and togetherness while on holiday, whether it's cooking and eating together as the wood burner envelopes you in its lovely, warm embrace or spilling out from the dining area onto the sun terrace listening to your favourite tunes in the sunshine, Pencroft simply wants you to be at ease and relax entirely. The Smart TV will allow you to catch up on programmes you've missed while enjoying the good weather or snuggle down to watch Netflix with the cosy fire. The chef in the family will love the well-equipped kitchen with high quality AEG appliances. Be brought a KRUPS coffee while in bed or with your favourite breakfast out on the balcony. For those that prefer a dishwasher to do all the hard work, rest assured you'll find one waiting for you! An integrated washer/ dryer is available if you need to do a quick clothes wash too. As well as the kitchen, living and dining area being on the ground floor, there is a downstairs cloakroom for everyone's comfort.

Once onto the first floor, look left out through the floor length window and gaze across the rooftops to the coastline over to Gwithian Towans. You'll be able to see how easy and close to your walk to Carbis Bay beach actually is! Off the carpeted landing is the modern family bathroom, twin bedroom and bunk bedroom as well as the master bedroom with its own large private balcony. With wall to wall built in wardrobes in the master bedroom, you will have ample storage and hanging space for the entire family.

There is gravel parking for two cars directly next to Pencroft so you are free to come and go freely exploring the exquisite Cornish coastline whatever the weather!

High quality decor and furnishing. Amazing home

The location is excellent, and is far enough away from St Ives to enjoy peace and quiet, but close enough to walk (1.5 miles) or bus right next to the house (£3.60 rtn) or Train (65p each way). Be advised , the train line is down by the beach and at the bottom of a steep hill. You can park there for £5 a day, and trains are once an hour. The bus is approx every 8 minutes and the best bet.

Local Amenities,

There is a good pub within walking distance that is dog friendly and serves meals. Tesco is a 5 minute walk away, there is a vegetarian restaurant, a Mediterranean restaurant and a fish and chip take away/restaurant within walking distance. There is a chemist, local shop/post office, hairdressers/barbers and vets also withing walking distance. There are numerous hotels you can eat at too.


I have never experienced a rental with such a high level of quality decor. It is a very comfortable home and a credit to the owners. If I was to suggest a few small improvements it would be a baking tray for the oven, Faster Wi-Fi, a TV in the second or third room for the children, larger waste bin outside but none of the above negated the stay at the property , just nice to haves. The photo of the property is dated and the rear garden is now grass and not paved. but there is still a considerable seating area

If i was to look at the main negative point of this property is the approach, it is up a very steep driveway, and not suitable for those less mobile, pushing a wheel chair up would be a struggle. The property is at the top of this drive and if you have a large car you are really going to struggle. you can drive straight into the parking spot but if you want to turn around and reverse onto the drive you have multiple small walls, a telegraph pole and another property to avoid in doing so. Not turning round means you have to reverse down the steep drive and blindly out onto a busy road.

In Summary, I would more than recommend this excellent property and if you have a smaller car you will be fine :)

Lovely modern house, squeezed into uninspiring plot

Stayed for Easter week 2017. Lovely weather in St Ives - sunny but cool. Surprisingly got sunburnt! Pencroft is a bright and light modern house, but it's location is rather uninspiring - squeezed between lots of other houses - you can just about see Carbis Bay and Hayle beach through the upper landing window. The house and garden are smaller than they appear in the photos, but the open plan downstairs is fairly roomy, although we found the furniture uncomfortable.

Beautiful house in a great location

We had a wonderful holiday and the house was beautiful - certainly one of the best rentals for years. It is tastefully designed, comfortable and well equipped. We enjoy cooking and in fact after long days spent walking and sightseeing preferred to spend evenings relaxing indoors. The kitchen is well equipped. Lots of Windows give the house plenty of light. The sofas are comfortable and lovely to see the garden. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom clean with a great shower. A nice welcome pack - tea, coffee etc was much appreciated.

Easy to park in the drive and the house is close to St Ives and beyond. Tesco is nearby and the local sports centre close too. The gym overlooks the sea - what's not to like!

We certainly hope to come back to this house - for longer next time! Thank you.

Sehr schön an einer Bucht gelegen

Tolles Ferienhaus mit einer sehr guten Ausstattung. Von Carbis Bay aus kann man gut Ausflüge in die Umgebung machen; St. Michaels Mount, St. Ives, Sennen Cove und Lands End etc. sind gut zu erreichen.
