Why Amanda and Derek Cornes chose Ross-on-Wye

Little Howle Farm is located in the hamlet of Howle Hill, close to Ross on Wye. It borders onto an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is minutes away from the Forest of Dean and Symonds Yat. The countryside around Howle Hill is simply stunning and the views over the Wye valley are breath-taking.

The farm itself was built of local stone in the early 1800's. We instantly fell in love with the place and have spent 3 years converting the barns and renovating the farmhouse.

What makes this barn unique

Little Howle Farm perfectly situated for a visit to the Wye Valley and provides a luxurious base to return to after a hard days walking, canoeing, cycling or just meandering around the lovely local towns of Ross on Wye or Monmouth.

Milking Parlour Crafts (www.milkingparlourcrafts.com) is located on the farm and provides a wide range of craft activities (floristry, card making, general crafts, art classes, photography) that can be combined into your holiday. Bespoke classes can be arranged. Call Amanda on 01989 485 226.

Well equipped, great location and beautifully presented property

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for a long weekend. The welcome on arrival was great particularly as we did not arrive till 10:00pm. We were shown round the property by the host and there was a welcome bottle of wine and other essentials in the fridge. The property is a converted barn and we stayed in one section. The conversion has been undertaken beautifully with no detail left unfinished. It is well equipped with everything you need for a break. A real home from home. The hosts are also lovely and friendly without being imposing. The property is located in a great area and is fairly easy to find with clear instructions. Even in the dark. There are lots of great places to visit especially if you love the countryside. We would not hesitate to stay again when we next come to this area.

High standard accommodation and perfect hosts

  • 5 of 5

We were greatly impressed by what Amanda and Derek have created at Little Howle Farm. The barn is finished, equipped and presented beautifully and, as many others have noted, no effort has been spared to ensure that visitors are provided with everything they need for a comfortable and relaxing stay.

We were there for just four nights - luckily for us, over the lovely sunny Bank Holiday weekend, which was a bonus! - but we felt very much at home and wished we could have stayed longer.

It is difficult to find any new way to praise the hard work and love that has gone into the conversions that hasn’t already been written by others. Amanda, Derek, thanks so much for your warm welcome and for making our stay with you so comfortable. We do hope to visit again.

Utterly amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Having just returned from a long weekend at Rivington Barn, Little Howle Farm, we just cannot recommend it enough.

We arrived to a lovely warm welcome and were shown around the gorgeous property, where the attention to detail is just incredible. Nothing has been missed or not catered for. With a delightful welcome package which included some breakfast ingredients, a bottle of wine in the fridge and a knock on the door the first morning with freshly baked bread, you really do feel so welcome and looked after.

The beds are a dream (we haven't slept so well in ages!), the bathrooms are spacious and luxurious and the overall property was spotlessly clean! Everything we needed for self-catering was provided. Every size of saucepan, pan, baking tray, dishes, glasses of every type, foil, food bags, the list is endless. Board games were also provided, which were great to sit and play in front of the fire.

If you want a relaxed break away from it all, in a property where luxury meets cozy, then stay at Little Howle Farm.

We'll definitely be back!

Luxury and the warmest welcome!

  • 5 of 5

Everything we hoped for and so much more- the attention to detail and luxury of the whole Farm is second to none- very stylish! But more importantly, the welcome from Amanda and Derek is like meeting old friends again. Amanda showed us around the Farm and nothing was too much trouble including baking us fresh bread and cakes and clearing away the snow drifts! We were glad to get snowed in in such a lovely warm place! We really enjoyed our stay for the Cheltenham Festival and will return next year without a doubt! It’s really convenient for Ross, The Forest of Dean and all the beautiful countryside around and don’t forget Baileys Barn Homeware- my new Mecca!

Absolutely Fabulous!

Our hosts had thought of everything to make our stay both enjoyable and memorable. The area was lovely and we would definitely recommend any of the 3 Little Howle Farm holiday homes. We hope to go back later this year.
