Overview

About the property

2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage with a good sized private garden

Very attractive, traditional-style cottage with a private garden in a village setting close to local amenities. Within a stroll you have a bistro cafe "Cracoe's", a local pub "The Devonshire Arms" which has an extensive menu and an over 55's special menu, which might appeal. They welcome children and dogs. There's also a farm shop for quality meat and groceries and another handy cafe. You're within 10 minutes drive of Skipton and the extensive facilities the town has to offer.

With it's own off street parking, and space for two cars, once the gates are closed the grounds are secure for children and pets. The entrance is into the spacious dining room and well- equipped kitchen, there's a full-size oven and ceramic hob, fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine, all the small appliances you'll need with pretty views over the garden from the kitchen sink listening to the Roberts Radio.

Beside the kitchen and dining room is a spacious and comfortable living room, it has an attractive York stone open fire place, large sofa and two armchairs, there's a door to the rear garden, plus Freeview TV and wifi for entertainment.

Staircase from the kitchen leads up to the first floor and the bedrooms. There's a spacious twin bedroom with plenty of storage and windows over the courtyard and garden. The double bedroom has beautiful oak floorboards, a comfortable bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers for storage and a window with views of the village. Off the landing is the bathroom with bath, shower over, hand basin and toilet with an attractive mullioned window with views over the garden.

Outside there's secure parking in the courtyard with a shed where bikes can be stored and secured. There's a gate through to the private rear garden with table and chairs for afternoon tea or lunch straight from the barbecue and spacious lawns to relax in the open air.

Conway cottage is full of character, mullioned windows, oak beams and open fires give a real Yorkshire Cottage experience but with all the comforts you'd expect. Well furnished and equipped, it provides quality accommodation for couples and families to explore the beautiful Dales. Handily located beside the B6265 for easy access to local towns, attractions and local eating places

We accept well behaved dogs sleeping in their own dog bed or cage in the kitchen, for the sake of non dog owners, please keep them out of carpeted areas in the lounge and upstairs. There is a vacuum cleaner if your dog sheds a lot of hair.

Lovely cottage, very clean

  • 5 of 5

Really cute cottage, in an excellent location. Being on the main road didn't disturb us at all, and made it very easy to get everywhere. Cottage was very clean, and the fresh flowers around the house and milk in the fridge were a lovely touch. The owner had also made the fire for us ready for the evening. Would definitely recommend, we hope to return in the future.

Lovely cottage, very well equipped in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

Good location for travelling to other parts of the dales with Grassington and Skipton just a 10min drive away. Lovely cottage very well cared for and the fresh flowers in each of the rooms was a lovely touch. We would definitely return to Conway Cottage.

Lovely Cottage - Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Loved the cottage and the garden. Ideally situated for us to explore the Dales, had a great week. Lovely walks from the cottage and great choice of pubs nearby to eat at. Cottage owner came and checked we had all we needed on arrival. Recommended!

Clean, cosy and cottagey!

  • 5 of 5

Comfortable cottage with everything you need inc. internet, beautiful garden, open fire, coal and logs inc. Daughters (26 & 22) didn't care much for the stuffed animals everywhere and the two single beds are very soft and they found them uncomfortable. The bathroom blind has to stay closed all the time unless you want to expose yourself to the neighbours. However, on the whole, it was very nice indeed and well situated. Wharfedale and the surrounding areas are fantastic for cycling and walking and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay

A lovely property, beautiful furniture and a fantastic location. The village has pub, cafe, tea room and a well stocked "farm" shop, plus Grassington and Skipton are not too far away. Highly recomended, we defintitely plan to return.

Situated in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, this picture perfect cottage is ideally located to enjoy so much that the Dales have to offer.

Walking and cycling are perhaps the most popular pastimes, exploring the highways and byways. The Dales encompass some of the UK's most beautiful and accessible countryside, criss crossed by the Dales way and Pennine way long distance routes, there are numerous spectacular views you can enjoy along the way. We provide OS maps for guests and can help them plan suitable walks.

Always popular with cyclists, since the Tour de France historically started in the Dales its popularity with cyclists has soared, particularly those wanting to emulate their cycling heroes and complete the Dales sections.

Close by there's a water sports lake at Grimwith, a fly and trout fishery at Kilnsey, Hesketh petting zoo at Bolton Abbey. Visit the Bolton Abbey estate and the ruined Abbey, there are superb walks along the river and several good place to eat and drink. Steam railway at Embsey with regular visits from Thomas the Tank Engine. The Settle Carlisle steam train with gourmet lunch is a popular attraction.

In Skipton you can visit the castle, cruise the canals on a barge, visit the busy market and the weekly cattle and livestock auction markets. There's also good shopping, butchers and bakers, boutiques and gift shops and several supermarkets in the town for groceries. There's a great swimming pool with a cafe in Aireville Park, or pamper yourself with a day at the spa and pool in Long Ashes, continue through Threshfield on the B6265, it's on the left.

Nearby Grassington is always popular for an afternoon and if you're feeling more energetic have a drive over to Malham and climb the spectacular cove, take in the waterfall - Janet's Foss then take a look at the awe inspiring gorge at Gordale Scar.

Do the Three Peaks Challenge, the 26 mile route takes in the 3 highest peaks in the Dales, Ingleborough, Pen-y-gent and Whernside, start and finish in the cafe at Clapham.
