Quirky, spacious house close to amenities
We had a great few days in Colares (August 2017). The house is spacious with good sized bedrooms and a large living space. It's a nice neighbourhood and you can walk to local shops, restaurants etc in Colares. João was really friendly and available for any help or problems. We used the house as a base to see Lisbon (we drove in to the city) and also some of the amazing sights of nearby Sintra, and also there are beaches within about 10 minutes drive. I would definitely recommend :-) Thanks João
It is a happy house
We really enjoyed our time in Portugal and our stay in Joao's house. The house was a very very, very fine house in a quiet neighberhood. Pleasantly designed with warm coloured walls and ecclectic furniture. With enough room inside for 6 adults. A nice veranda and garden outside. Located close to the ocean (take bus 441 and you'll be at the beach in less than 10 minutes) and close to Sintra (same bus in the other direction brings you in 12 minutes to Sintra and from there in 30 min to the centre of Lisbon (buy in Sintra for 10.50 a 24 H ticket for train/tram/bus/tube to and in Lisbon) . There is a supermarket on the corner for your daily groceries.
Joao is a very friendly and hospitable host. He was during our stay standby for any questions and available for a good conversation. And he was our perfect tourguide in the Sintra region.
