3 bed 18th century converted barn overlooking millpool at lovely Stoke Gabriel.

Furnished to a high standard, this 18th century 3 bed converted barn provides comfort, privacy and a sense of well-being. Tucked high in the oxygenating oak, beech and sweet chestnut woods above the beautiful Millpool in a very quiet and secluded spot is this charming attached 18th century converted barn with glimpses through the trees down to the large Millpool leading into the River Dart and the picturesque village of Stoke Gabriel. This is a spacious, bright, newly refurbished property ideal for couples and families.

Accommodation:

Newly laid 75ft sandstone terrace with stylish outdoor furniture and Webber bbq; views through our own South Down Woods to millpool leading into the River Dart where you see buzzards swoop through the trees and listen to birds including song thrushes, woodpeckers and owls at night.

Front door into very spacious dining/ kitchen room with warm terracotta tiled floor, dining table to seat 6, newly fitted kitchen with electric hob, oven, dishwasher and SMEG fridge. Washer/dryer under the stairs.

Most attractive sitting room with 2 sofas, smart TV, coffee table, woodburning stove in a stone hearth, French doors to the lovely terrace and large windows.

Newly installed wetroom with luxury shower, basin and wc.

Stairs to the landing. Two double bedrooms both with new zip and link beds providing either super king size double or two good size single beds. Wardrobes and bedside tables.

Master double bedroom with the wow factor! High ceilings, magnificent king size metal bedstead, range of fitted cupboards.

Family bathroom with slipper bath, shower over, basin and WC.

Outside: A shared private drive (fairly steep) leads up to the property through the woods to a parking area for 2 cars. Steps from here up to a large railed, split-level patio terrace (with a gate), with views through the trees to the Millpool and provided with table chairs and barbecue. Below the drive is an acre of private woodland belonging to the property with a steep path down to the Millpool and a ten minute walk to the village via the weir subject to tides and crossed at own risk. A longer walk down the drive and around the top of the millpool also leads to the village (15-20 minutes). There is no access to the backyard at rear of the property except for emergencies only.

Lovely Barn Conversion with Top Notch furnishings

We had a lovely holiday at Overcreek and the interior was of a very high specification. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped.

The only downside for us as a family was the entrance. Although we knew the property was not wheel chair accessible, there were lots of steps which would be fine for us, but when holidaying with elderly parents this was a little bit of a concern especially as they were covered in leaves (which we did brush off each time), but they were still slippery when it rained and the driveway was at such a slope it was hard to park.

Once inside however we loved it and had many a good night playing games (we bought our own, but there were many also available).

Stunning, well equipped and located barn conversion on the River Dart.

The Barn is both beautifully furnished and superbly equipped and its setting on the River Dart is wonderful. Very quiet and peaceful. The house is fantastically located to access walks on the coast and in Dartmoor and consequently, our two dogs also had an enjoyable time! Our teenager daughter enjoyed horse riding in Widecombe in the Moor and with the cities of Exeter and Plymouth accessible plus the interesting nearby towns of Dartmouth and Brixham, the barn ensured that the whole family had a memorable holiday.

We had a fantastic stay here at the cottage, well equipped, comfortable, peaceful and a warm welcome awaited us - thank you for the wine and goodies! Ideally situated to explore this part of Devon. Would highly recommend for families, a little difficult for anyone with mobility issues due to number of steps to enter the property, however. All the comforts of home, beautifully decorated, a wonderful place to stay!

Beautiful and exquisitely furnished house!

We really enjoyed our stay in this BEAUTIFULLY decorated house. It is spacious enough for 6 people, with an absolute wonderful master bedroom, a lovely kitchen and a very cozy living room with functioning fireplace (which we used several evenings with 13° C outside - that's the English summer...) The roads around Stoke Gabriel and the driving to the house require some nerves since they are a BIT narrow - but one gets used to it after a while.

We had some trouble with the Internet (a lightning struck into the telephone line) and the owner was always reachable and tried every day to help us getting back online!
