Lovely place.

Alexandra was brilliant from the time of booking until we arrived. As with previous reviews, you do need to be relativley fit to get up the hill, and still have enough strength to climb the narrow stairs to the apartment. The appartment is compact but full of Lisbon character. Yes it can get noisy but you are in a capital city so should be expected. The double glazing prevents most of it, although it may be an issue when its hot and they need to be opened. Shout out to Sandro who met us and helped us with our luggage, really helpful and knowledgable, thank you. Lisbon has plenty of old character and has become our favorite city we have visited.

5* enabled a wonderful city break

The property is exactly as pictured, extremely clean, very well equipped with lots of little extras too and very welcoming. Alexandra arranged for us to meet with her colleague Sandro at the apartment and kindly allowed us to drop off our bags early. We were slightly delayed so really grateful he waited for us. Communication with Sandro and Alexandra was excellent. We read reviews from some people who complained about the smell from the restaurants next door but have to say we never experienced any smells at all. We ate twice at the restaurant next door at No 49. Really simple restaurant with a lovely proprietor, freshly well cooked meat and fish, enormous portions, no frills but lovely atmosphere and so cheap compared to restaurants in town. Apartment is just a few meters from the bakery where we bought our cakes for breakfast, cheese and ham cobs for our last day and expresso coffee is only 50c. Nothing Alexandra can control, but each evening we went out and returned someone we believe either from the Senegal restaurant next door at no. 41 or from another apartment in the block was sitting on the doorstep of the entrance to the apartment but they were polite, apologised and moved away for us to enter. The apartment is is a good central location and only 5 mins from Rossio Metro station

Lisbon adventure

Fantastic location, close to Rossio tube station and train station, perfect for day trips out of Lisbon. Close to Rossio square where many walking tours begin and loads of restaurants. Property is lovely, nice decor, great all singing and dancing shower! It is very tiny but was fine for our needs. The photo is the view from the balcony out to the sea which is fab! As others have mentioned, a reasonable climb when returning to property at the end of a long day plus 4 flights of narrow stairs, so absolutely not suitable for those with any mobility issues. I used it as an excuse to have an extra pastel de nata each day! Sandro is lovely and it was nice to be collected and taken to the airport.
