Absolutely fabulous
We rented this place for a week early September after seeing the lovely photos of the place. It was exactly as we expected from the pictures. The house was very clean, felt spacious and well equipped. There was a garden that was beautifully designed and an absolute pleasure to sit in. There were several corners for enjoying the weather, the smells and the peace of the place.
Jean-Francois was ever so helpful and made our stay extra pleasurable. It felt like staying at friend's as he was the most accommodating host and gave us enough privacy while being there whenever we needed anything.
The place itself is beautiful with a choice of beaches and walks. One of the beaches was totally un-spoilt and swimming in the Mediterranean even in Autumn was lovely. it did rain for a few days, but the smells in the garden was divine after it had rained. Also, it wasn't a lingering rain for days. usually it cleared soon.
although we didn't have a car and got by quite well without, if you constantly need to have access to shops, etc, we would recommend renting a car, as the village itself doesn't have even a corner shop, although there are two or three restaurants. We found it charming to have to walk along the coast path to the next village to get our fruits and baguettes. There is a charming fruit and veg market in the neighbouring village with excellent produce. Also a pharmacy, bars, etc.
We don't speak french but still got by just fine thanks to the friendliness and effort made by the local people. It truly was like a holiday from the good old days-slowed us right down and helped us relax and rejuvenate ourselves.
There are buses connecting the village to more happenning/famous places on the cote-d'azur and we enjoyed our trip to St. Tropez which is a beautiful bus ride with wonderful scenery on the way.
If you are planning to swim a lot something we wished we had was snorkels as the sea seemed full of various fishes which I could see through my swimming goggles, but would have been better with snorkels.
Finally, the place doesn't have wi-fi, which was therapeutic for us as it really helped slow down the pace, but not everyone may not be able to tolerate it.
