Villa Favprita is a historic independent private house, built in the late 1800s, surrounded by a large park. Located within a private park of around 30,000 square meters. Villa Favorita offers a barbecue area, a tennis court, a five-a-side football pitch and a brand new 6m x 12m swimming pool with a 20m x 3.20m hot tub (opening mid-June 2016). On the lakefront there is a swimming pool shared with the other apartments that can easily be reached crossing the road in front of the house. Here you will also find a private beach and a dock that can be used for mooring boats (agree with the owners in advance- boats no more than 16 meters).

The villa is furnished in classic style with Art Nouveau furniture, period objects and ornaments, it is a unique location especially for families who want to spend their holidays together in a special atmosphere for events or important ceremonies.

Equipped with satellite TV, DVD player, washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi Internet connection The villa consists of 13 rooms, 13 beds and 5 bathrooms. About 14 km from the town of Stresa, famous for its cultural and musical activities, the beautiful Borromean Islands and the prestigious golf courses. This area is also a paradise for water sports lovers: canoeing, sailing, water skiing and more.

Maria and Elvina were great. It was warm. No AC only one fan. Road noise was bothersome. Pool was nice. Access on and off highway a little hair raising.

Meina is a pretty village on the Piedmont side of Lake Maggiore, located, following the Simplon in a northerly direction, just after the town of Arona and before Solcio di Lesa. The territory was already inhabited in the Bronze Age and preserves evident traces of the most recent feudal past.

Meina and tourism

Originally known as Madina, Meina has some interesting churches in its territory.

The most important is the Church of Santa Margherita which houses some interesting frescoes inside. In the village of Silvera, a village of approx. 500 meters s. l.m., on the slopes above, we find the Church of San Rocco, of the nineteenth century, and in Piantini the Church of Our Lady of Fatima.

Near Ghevio di Meina, also like Silvera in the hills behind Meina, you can admire the Oratory of Sant'Anna, of medieval origin, and the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. Ghevio also houses an interesting building, once occupied by a blacksmith's workshop, where you can admire some ancient and interesting devices.

Meina and the villas: Villa Faraggiana

In the X-XI centuries there existed in Meina possessions of a Pavia monastery and the Benedictine monastery of Arona. Having come into possession, with all the Vergante, of the Milanese archbishops shortly before 1200, it was then a fief of the Visconti and the Borromeo family. The rediscovery of the enchanting beauty of Lake Maggiore and the birth of the fashion of the elegant holiday, from the century. XVIII, some prestigious residences are owed.

The entire coast of Meina is in fact a succession of villas and parks: The most admirable example is certainly the neoclassical Villa Faraggiana, built in 1855 by Raffaele Faraggiana and immersed in a vast park of more than 70 hectares. Spectacular is also the large park, which reaches the shores of the lake, of Villa Cella.
