Wonderful, relaxing getaway in idyllic surroundings

  • 5 of 5

Alison and Daniel's farm cottage in the middle of the southern Scottish countryside was the perfect place to begin our UK vacation. We had a long drive up from London and Alison left us some staples so that we wouldn't have to run out in the morning. The cottage was immaculate, decorated perfectly ("updated farmhouse"), fully furnished with anything you'd need, and we loved the farmhouse table which comfortably fit our family of 6 (could have seated a couple more!). The views are stunning and because we arrived at night, didn't get to see them until the next morning--waking up to them was the best way for the stress of a long 24 hours of traveling to melt away! Alison was wonderful with suggestions of things to do in the area (made a dinner reservation for us), provided us with anything we asked for (including ordering a US/UK adapter for me when I realized I'd forgotten to bring one), and even let my kids borrow a couple of bikes to ride into the nearby town. The location was perfect for touring around southern Scotland (and even up to the Highlands), and had so many lovely places to visit nearby--Falkland, St Andrews and other coastal towns, and Stirling Castle, to name a few. It was lovely just to spend a day hanging around and going for a walk on the property to see the cows. :). Wish we lived closer so we could come again!

Excellent comfortable cottage in nice location

  • 4 of 5

I shared 3 nights in cold February with my husband and 3 children. Plenty of room, comfortable beds and great shower. My only comment is I would suggest the availability of extra blankets for the beds. It got quite cold and when all beds are used you can't borrow from other beds to layer up. Once heating sussed out for second night it got better. They are very comfortable beds.

A stunning property in the heartof Fife.

  • 5 of 5

Home on the Farm is a beautifully located 3 bed cottage with stunning views of the Lomond hills. It is furnished to a high standard, and deceptively spacious, with clever use of the attic space to provide 2 additional large bedrooms. There is also ample parking, with plenty space for at least half a dozen cars - perfect for me who had plenty friends and family visiting.

Alison and Daniel were excellent hosts, and on hand when we had any queries or questions.

The location is quiet and set back from the main road.

We would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Loved it, loved it!

Comfortable, clean and in beautiful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a weeks break at Home on the Farm and had a fantastic time. Alison was very friendly and hospitable, and greeted us on arrival. The house itself was immaculately clean with very comfortable furnishings. The view of the scenery out towards the hills is stunning! The house is very well insulated against the cold and outside noise - if you have good hearing you might be able to hear the cows mooing in the barn behind, to me this just added to the charm of being on the farm. The log burner adds a extra touch and kicks out plenty of heat! Despite the rural location, the house is conveniently situated just off the A91, and within easy reach to St Andrews, Edinburgh, Dundee, and various local attractions and National Trust properties. Kinross is also approx 15 mins away and has a Sainsbury's (open til 10) so easy to stock up on anything you may need.

My two daughters made fast friends with Alison's son and loved it when he took them on a little tour of the farm! Overall the quality of the house and location were outstanding and we would love to stay again! We would certainly recommend this to anyone wanting a quiet location within easy reach of other main attractions.
