Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, sleeps up to 6, beautiful rural farm location with woodfired hot tub

The Cottage been lovingly restored to produce a fabulous rural retreat, nestled in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside. There are plenty of family-friendly activities nearby and both coasts are easily accessible. The well equipped cottage has underfloor heating, a woodburning stove a 'farmhouse' kitchen and private garden. Outside our fabulous wood fired hot tub is available for use in the evenings. Well behaved dog welcome at £10 per night supplement. Please read the description and rules carefully before booking.

The cottage is on our small family farm; run on Organic, pesticide free principles, nestled in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside. We raise a variety of rare breed animals, producing the very finest quality meat and alpaca wool. Although the farm feels very tucked away, it is easily accessible.

The cottage has been carefully renovated using lime, and other sustainable building materials. We have installed high tech heating and hot water that is super eco friendly and reliable. No matter what time of year you stay it will be cosy: as well as underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs, there is an optional woodburner.

The whole cottage is well equipped with a fantastic 'farmhouse' kitchen including Welsh slate worktops, antique Welsh dresser, a belfast sink, Neff dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, Bosch fan oven, coffee maker and Miele washing machine.

Upstairs the 2 bedrooms have beautiful views, radiators, waxed wooden floors and comfortable beds. The romantic master bedroom has a period fireplace, brass bed with luxury wool duvet and feather pillows - we've had lots of guests remark on what a wonderful night's sleep they've enjoyed!

The bunk bed room has been carefully planned as a children's space, with a great collection of kids books, and has a built in cupboard with hanging space and drawers.

There is a sofa bed in the open plan living space downstairs, so the cottage can comfortably accommodate a family or 2 couples. Please note that the bunk beds are intended for children's use only. You may if you like book and have 6 people stay (absolutely no more than 4 adults please) but be aware that it might be a bit 'snug'.

The bathroom upstairs has a bath with Mira thermostatic shower over, with glass shower screen. There is a heated towel radiator and we supply luxury Egyptian cotton towels.

For that extra touch of luxury the woodfired hot tub is available to use in the evenings and we provide beach towels. We'll light the tub and show you how to add fuel and look after the hot tub so that you can get it to your desired temperature, and enjoy the experience of adding fuel to the cracking fire!

Other provisions include TV with Freesat, DVD player and Amazon Fire Stick, BBQ, games barn with table tennis, travel cot, highchair and selection of books, games and DVD's.

The skies here are perfect for stargazing as we have very little light pollution. We have lots of birds to watch and there are quiet roads and plenty of countryside walks. We actively encourage wildlife, have re-established wildflower meadows and planted over 3000 native trees. As a result we frequently see Sparrow Hawks, Red Kites, Buzzards, and visiting Barn Owls, to name but a few! Guests can access the river, at the bottom of the field -which is fun to splash around in, or a great place for a picnic. However if you're quiet you might even spot the Kingfisher?

Newcastle Emlyn and St Clears are both within easy reach for shopping and some fantastic restaurants and we sell eggs and "the best meat we've ever eaten", according to some of our guests. If you're a knitter or crocheter, why not treat yourself to a ball of our luxury 100% alpaca wool too?

If you would like a 'farm tour' we're happy to show you round and introduce you to our rare breed farm animals.

There is a pub in Trelech (2 miles)

If you would like one of our very popular premier quality welcome hampers, birthday cake, loaf of homemade bread or picnic, then please ask for details!

About Claire and Oli Woolley

Since we moved here we have transformed the former dairy farm into wildlife friendly, low intensity, natural, pesticide free small farm. The farmhouse and Cottage have been carefully restored, and we are gradually doing the same for the old stone barns. We have a large veg patch, planted an orchard and have planted areas of additional native woodland. If you would like we're happy to show you around and introduce you to our rare breed animals.

It was peaceful and quiet which is lovely when your there for a quite break! The owners Claire and Olly where so helpful welcoming us with fresh baked welsh cakes they went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and as special as possible offering a range of different foods and freshly baked cakes if you would like this during your stay. Stunning & unspoilt country getaway

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a most comfortable stay, giving us the accessibility of Carmarthenshire & Pembrokeshire beaches, about 30min drive away. Claire & Olly were excellent hosts. Well worth purchasing their veg, eggs & meat too!

Quaint cottage with so much to offer.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have just arrived home from a fantastic holiday in Pembrokeshire.

Firstly, Claire, Oli and family could not have been friendlier. They were always happy to help and nothing was too much trouble. They work immensely hard to make your stay perfect and are clearly passionate about what they do.

The cottage itself was beautifully quaint, well equipped and decorated exactly how a cottage should be. There was an array of toys for our boys to play with both inside the cottage and out in the barn, which made our lazy mornings more enjoyable for them. The hot tub is a must and we can highly recommend the sausage, bacon and eggs from the farm itself.

The location is ideal to explore the best of woodlands, towns and beaches around with places like Tenby, Saundersfoot, Llangranog and St Davids being a short drive away. We would also recommmend Cilgerren castle, and a walk to the waterfall mentioned in the cottage info pack.

We would definitely recommend this cottage and would love to return in the future.

All the best to Claire, Oli and family.

great cosy cottage

  • 5 of 5

Hi,

We were 2+4.5yr, looking for an escape at the end of Feb half term, during Doris storm. The cottage provided a very cosy retreat and had all needed. We went one day to the beach (poppit sands) and another to a hidden waterfall in a forest as recommended by Oli, Both offered stunning sceneries and were great days out. The hot tub was an amazing bonus and lots of fun. Just do not forget your wellies when you wonder to this side of the world.

A lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

A lovely cottage, with all the amenities you need. Very clean and very comfortable and a much appreciated log burner after a long windy walk on the beach. The newly installed hot tub was amazing, can not recommend it enough. My boys loved the farm tour, Claire and Oli are great hosts and recommended some great days out.
