About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 bathroom villa, accommodating up to 6 guests

Set in the Cote Vermeille where the mountain foothills of the Pyrenean Alberes dip their toes in the sparkling blue Mediterranean, Collioure is a delight. A charming Catalan town with its own beaches, bays and creeks, nearby a further 15 kilometres of clean, safe, sandy coastline basks in 300 days of sunshine a year. You can enjoy all this and more from your villa home, fully modernised in 2007, Complete with parking, the villa is situated on a charming residential development with private pool exclusively for its residents. This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa offers spectacular sweeping panoramic 270° coastal views from the large sunny terrace and balcony.

Winter, golf or short breaks: There is winter skiing availability in the beautiful Pyrenees. Full details of winter and summer sporting and leisure activities are available on request. Please enquire about our special prices for short mid-week or long weekend breaks. The Villa is about 90 minutes drive from Font Romeu and Les Angles. Add forty minutes for Andorra.

For Golfers: Golf de Saint Cyprien is less than 30 minutes drive from Collioure. St Cyprien International Golf Course is one of the best in France. Full details and review are available online, please contact owners for website details. There are two courses - the ‘Canigou Etang’ championship 18 holes and the ‘Saint Cyprien’ 9 holes - both with water hazards, and both offer stimulating play for the experienced and the inexperienced golfer. By coincidence two of our guests – both golf addicts – were told about this course by their pro who has played it himself and thoroughly commends it! Golf de Saint Cyprien is also home to the Patrick Lacroix Golf Academy. It was the first to be established in France, and has now become a very respected institution.

Out of high season we are happy to accommodate long weekends or short breaks of four nights or fewer from September to May.

Enquiries welcome and prices confirmed on request.

Here's the information from the course website: “As the first genuine golf resort in France, Golf de Saint Cyprien is one of the most reputed golf destinations in the country. Located next to the Mediterranean and close to the Spanish border, the area benefits from an unlimited supply of sunshine. The hotel’s main restaurant Mas d'Huston***, is famous for its haute cuisine and is open to non-residents. For lunch, guests can enjoy the casual atmosphere of the poolside Parasols restaurant (which for most of the year incidentally has a great buffet!).

The coast at Collioure is an amazing environment for fishing, sailling, hunting, snorkelling or diving activities. The rocky coastline allows the observation of the underwater fauna simply with a mask and a snorkel as well as the underwater hunting (regulated).

Swimming pool ( Residential secured swimming pool with access reserved for residents, The swimming pool is open from June 1st to September 30th, An electronic pass is at your disposal).

Sea, Parc Aqualand to Saint Cyprien (11km); tennis courts, windsurfing, golf, bicycle rides and nearby beaches add to the resort's amenities.

With Mount Canigou towering in the background, the Roussillon region offers a wide variety of activities, from seaside fun to backpacking in the foothills of the Pyrénées Mountains.

Lovely property and location

  • 5 of 5

Well-equipped house with lovely large terrace and sea views. We appreciated the welcome from Pascal, who was only too willing to help if we had any problems (which we didn't). Good situation with pleasant walk to both Collioure and Portvendres, each about 20 minutes away. We have been to Collioure several times before and this was one of the nicest properties we have stayed in. The upstairs bedrooms did get a little hot when the temperatures were high, but we were fine in the slightly cooler downstairs bedroom. We appreciated the lovely residents' pool which was very clean and refreshing. We hope to return to this lovely property.

Beautiful Villa with Stunning Views

  • 5 of 5

Staying at this villa for a week was so incredibly enjoyable that when I think back to it, I'm not entirely sure if it was just a very happy dream.

Booking this wonderful villa was a smooth and easy process. Bernard is very friendly and efficient with email replies throughout booking.

When we first arrived at the villa we were shown around by a lovely gentleman by the name of Pascal. It was clear that if we had needed help with anything, then he would be there. We also found wine, biscuits and water had been left for us on arrival, along with all the usual essentials like tea and coffee.

There is everything you want at this villa including a dish washer, washing machine, toaster, kettle, microwave and much more. The location was perfect for us, being just a short walk up from a gorgeous beach that's amazing for snorkelling. We even found a couple of octopus hiding in the rocks.

The views from the patio of the villa are lovely. You can cool down in the evenings with a glass of wine looking out over the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.

Here you will be within easy reach of Collioure, Port Vendres, and you can easily reach a lot of places in Spain too. There's a folder in the villa full of restaurants if you choose to eat out.

It was hot when we stayed in June, so jumping into the pool wasn't only enjoyable, it was also necessary and very refreshing. We found the pool area to be very clean, and despite not being heated, it was a nice temperature.

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience from the initial enquiry email to the holiday itself. I would definitely recommend this villa, and hope maybe in the future to come back for another visit.

Lovely villa in Collioure

  • 5 of 5

Have just returned from a wonderful week in Collioure with its fabulous selection of bars and restaurants. The views from the Villa were amazing and the villa was more than we expected. This property is probably the best equipped we have ever stayed in - John and Elaine have thought of everything. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back.

Beautiful Collioure

  • 5 of 5

We loved Collioure and the apartment. The village offered many shops and restaurants within walking distance (less than 15 minutes). The owners have a wonderful folder in the apartment that provided maps and other local information that was extremely helpful. The recommended restaurants lived up to their reviews. Port Vendres was actually as close to the apartment as the village and offered a convenient market.

The kitchen provided all that we needed to enjoy a daily meal or two at "home." Upon arrival it was thoughtfully stocked with bread, wine, ham, butter so that we did not have to find the market immediately.

We especially enjoyed the beautiful terrace that was sunny for many hours each day (virtually all day).

As indicated in the listing, the pool was not open during our stay in May but appeared to be getting refurbished in time to open in June as promised. We were able to swim in the sea though, just a short walk down the road.

The apartment was clean and comfortably furnished but could use some new/extra bed pillows.

Autumn in Collioure

  • 5 of 5

We had the most wonderful time in this beautiful villa at the end of October and as an extra bonus we had superb weather and spent at least 3 days on the beach!!

The villa is immaculately kept - very very clean and very well kitted out with everything you could possibly need. The owners think of everything and are right on hand should you have any problems whatsoever.

The patio / terrasse was as promised with panoramic views - it was lovely to sit out there in the afternoon as the sun came round with a book and glass of wine.

We had been to Collioure before and it was still as breath-taking and charming - just a 10 minute walk away from the villa so no need to take the car down into town.

This place is a real treat and I wold not hesitate in recommending it - a gem - don't miss out!!

Car: not necessary

Collioure is a fully fledged town with all the necessary facilities, plus shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants. And a year round attraction except, perhaps, in February when traditionally even the year round traders take a break. Dining choices range from take-away pizzas to a gamut of gourmet gems many within comfortable walking distance of the villa. Countless galleries reflect Collioure’s Fauvist art heritage, plus ample gift stores, and two farmers’ markets a week. Within 2 hours drive you have: St Cyprien (20mins) – a large, modern marina and port with stunning mainly empty beaches and loads of parking; Gerona (60mins) a bustling but ancient Spanish city; Carcassone’s (90mins) castellated splendour; Barcelona (150 mins) Spain’s second city; Andorra & The Pyrenees (120 mins). Once home to Picasso, Ceret is also well worth a visit (30 mins).

The coast at Collioure is an amazing environment for fishing, hunting, snorkelling or diving activities.

The rocky coastline allows the observation of the underwater fauna simply with a mask and a snorkel as well as the underwater hunting (regulated).

Golf:

The 18 hole St Cyprien course is about 6900 yards (medal tees) par 72, flat, fairly featureless, a cross between links and parkland, and technically demanding. The 9 hole is 3000 yards (medal) par 35, also flat, but more scenically attractive (parkland, with more trees and water) and although less demanding, is probably more fun, and it’s worth considering playing twice to get the 18 holes in preference to the ‘big course’. Facilities are excellent, and it’s possible to hire clubs, trolleys etc. Cost of a round is between 40 and 55 euros depending on the time of year.

Golf du Domaine de Falgos is an outstandingly beautiful, relatively short (5500 yards, par 70) and technically interesting parkland/forest course, but not annoyingly ‘tricky’ as some short courses are. It’s difficult to imagine a golf course being here in the mountains, but it’s worth the twisty journey just to see it. Predictably, the course is hilly/undulating, but exhilarating! The facilities are excellent, and clubs, trolleys and carts can be hired.

Golf de Carcassonne is a parkland course, characterised by wide fairways, fast and challenging greens, some very interesting holes (1, 9 and 18 involve either steep climbs or drops) and lovely views across rolling countryside. It is just over 6300 yards, par 71. Cost of a round about 35 to 45 euros, and half sets of clubs and trolleys/carts can be hired.
