Relax and enjoy your vacation in Anthemion Apartment Edinburgh, our beautiful first-floor apartment in Edinburgh's historic New Town. Our high-ceilinged Georgian flat combines original features and antique furniture with an up-to-the-minute kitchen and large shower room.

Although you can chill in our lovely residential area, you'll be within walking distance of many of Edinburgh's amazing sights, and can get here easily accessible from railway and bus stations and the airport. You'll love being close to the action but enjoy the luxury of retreating to the comfort and peace of Anthemion. We have free wifi, and an excellent selection of board games, books and guidebooks if you decide to have some time out from sightseeing. The high windows give a light, airy aspect, but you can still sit cozily in front of our living flame fire to while away the time.

Our kitchen is state of the art, equipped with an induction hob, fridge-freezer, oven, microwave and plate warming oven, and even a wine fridge, and we really hope to provide you with everything you could need during your stay. And there's a dishwasher and washing machine to lighten the load!

The dining area is modern and roomy for a convivial evening in.

Our spacious bedrooms are normally configured as one superkingsize and two single beds, but you can opt for two superkings or four singles, depending on your needs.

There are plenty of shopping opportunities, from little antique shops close by, to designer boutiques on George Street and department stores in Princes Street. You can go on foot to visit Edinburgh's museums, many of which are free, and a short stroll takes you to the Royal Botanical Gardens. There's no shortage of restaurants, and you are close to the beautiful Dean Village and trendy Stockbridge.

For couples and groups of friends, there are excellent restaurants and bars close by. Families will having a swing park for the children just a short walk away, and plenty of hands-on child-friendly activities in the National Museum of Scotland (who says museums have to be boring!) or laughing in the Camera Obscura. Edinburgh Buses are free to children under 5!

The New Town itself is a UN World Heritage Site and has some magnificent, elegant architecture. A feast for the eyes!

It's easy to get to us - just a five minute walk from the tram and bus stations (the tram goes out to the airport) and 15 minutes from Waverley train station. For weekend visitors, on street parking is free from Friday evening until Monday at 8:30am.

Why Jan chose New Town

We've really enjoyed Edinburgh, particularly the New Town, and fell in love with Anthemion. We were so attracted to its original features - the high ceilings, beautiful cornicing, and working shutters - and loved the space and quality of the kitchen and shower room. It's our only holiday let, and we use it ourselves too, to enjoy everything that Edinburgh has to offer, so we wanted to be able to get quickly to where the action is, but to enjoy some peace and quiet when we'd finished!

What makes this apartment unique

The beautiful setting of Edinburgh New Town, build in the 1820s, the cobbled streets outside and the stately entrance hall had us smiling before we'd even seen the flat. The elegance and light of the high windows, and the elegance of the living room delighted us, and gave us the mix of comfort and style that we wanted. A fan of induction hobs (stoves), Jan was thrilled that the very modern kitchen came already equipped! The location is great for exploring both the best-known areas of Edinburgh and its more hidden secrets, like Stockbridge, Broughton and the Waters of Leith.

Absolutely beautiful and spacious home away from home!

Our weeklong stay in Edinburgh was delightful! The apartment is comfortable, convenient, classic, and cozy. We loved all that it has to offer. The kitchen is well equipped; the roomy shower is luxurious compared to other European style bathrooms. The huge windows offer spectacular views of the various yards and gardens below behind the flat and the ambiance of Edinburgh and its street lamps from the front.

New Town is a lovely area and very walkable to all the area sites. Uber is super easy to use for around town as well if the hills prove to be too arduous. Leo’s Beanery nearby offers the perfect latte. Tesco is a matter of steps away around the corner, which was perfect for groceries.

In the evenings we relaxed in the living room with the remote candles twinkling in the fireplace as we read or watched TV. WiFi works great.

Probably most importantly, Jan is spectacular. She is available to answer any questions or offer suggestions. Jon, the property manager, promptly met us and assisted with our luggage.

We truly appreciate everything they did to make us feel welcome and informed. Thank you for making our stay memorable!

Loved our stay!

I stayed here with my sister, mom and aunt and it was wonderful! The place was spacious for the four of us and decorated so lovely. Jan, the owner, was extremely responsive prior to our stay and during our stay and left us with lots of ideas of things to do in Edinburgh, which was very helpful. Jon (the man on the ground) accommodated meeting us earlier than our expected arrival and even helped us with our heavy bags. On top of the apartment being fantastic the location had great walkability. When I make my way back to Edinburgh one day I will definitely stay here again!

Spring time in Edinburgh

Property was as described in HomeAway ; large and luxuriously fitted out; good kitchen with all the necessary utensils. Good location in the new Town for getting to all the Edinburgh sights within 20/30 minutes walk. Good eating places in the general area and grocery stores. Stock Bridge is a 20 minute walk and has a café strip. Host very helpful. Would stay again and would recommend. DJW

Spacious and elegant apartment

We had a very enjoyable stay in this lovely flat. It was very comfortable and well equipped with a modern kitchen and bathroom and a very pretty living room with high ceilings and sash windows. We hope to come back at some time in the future.

Not sure what goes here

Such an elegant home, we didn't want to leave!

Can't say enough about this elegant and comfortable apartment -- a perfect stay! Ideally situated within easy walking distance of New Town shopping, restaurants and train station. We also walked to Old Town and the Castle on a pleasant route the delightful owner, Jan, suggested for us, which took in many of the sights. We had a car and parking was easy right in front. We plan on coming back to Edinburgh again, (so much more to see and do!) but only when "Anthemion" is available!

Anthemion is in historic New Town, close to the major sights, but away from the noise and crowds. A residential area, with plenty of antique stores and independent shops of all sorts, it is also a short walk from trendy Stockbridge, the quality restaurants of Broughton, and the views from Calton Hill or the glasshouses of the Royal Botanical Gardens. It's easy to get around on foot, and public transport is also efficient and easily available.
