About the property

This luxury two bedroom duplex apartment with private terrace and a shared swimming pool is perfect for a relaxing holiday. Located in a traditional Spanish village but with easy access to the Costa Tropical beaches, Granada & its ski resort.

Please note - this is not a duplicate listing. This apartment is identical to another apartment on the listing "duplex apartment with shared pools". That apartment is in another development at the northern end of the village. This apartment is in the sister development at the southern end of the village.

The apartment has the feel of a contemporary hotel; the bathrooms are modern with high quality fittings, it is furnished in neutral tones and the bedrooms are a haven of relaxation with high quality beds and mattresses complete with crisp, white linen.

The air-conditioned living room has a comfy sofa, Wifi, flat screen TV, DVD player. There is a selection of books on Spanish culture, phrase books, travel books, novels and cook books for guests use. From the living room a pair of French doors open onto a small private terrace (with a table and 4 chairs, including 2 sun loungers). The terrace leads directly to the communal pool and garden area.

On the ground floor there is also a dining table with 6 chairs and a separate kitchen with everything you need to prepare and cook meals. It contains a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker and all essential kitchen items. Guests are provided with basic items in the kitchen such as salt, pepper, olive oil, tea and coffee.

A corridor from the living/dining room leads to one of the bedrooms which has two comfortable single beds (can be arranged into a double), high quality bed-linen and ample storage space in the wardrobe (hanging space and a chest of drawers). There is air conditioning in the bedroom and also shutters to create complete darkness for a good night’s sleep.

Also off this corridor is a modern bathroom with a shower over the bath. The bathroom comes with a cabinet for storage and guests are provided with hand towels and bath mats (1 of each) plus each guest is provided with one bath towel and a beach/pool towel.

Upstairs is the main bedroom containing a very comfortable King size bed with crisp, white linen. There is a Juliet balcony opening onto the quiet street below. This room also contains ample storage space (hanging space and a chest of drawers) plus air conditioning and shutters to create complete darkness. There is also an en-suite shower room with cabinet storage and towels provided.

The apartment is ideal for couples, families with children or groups of 4 adults. It sleeps 4 comfortably (2 per room, each with own bathroom) although there is a sofa bed to sleep an extra 1 or 2 but this would be a squeeze. There is a travel cot available on request.

Why TCJ chose Vélez de Benaudalla

We loved the fact it was in a part of real spain. You are near the beach but as it is its own town rather than a seasonal seaside town it doesnt turn into a ghost town out of season. At Easter and October you can sit in the warm sun and look up to the snow capped mountains. The Ski sean at Sierra Nevada runs from November or December until April or May and is only 1 hour by car. Whilst the apartment feels almost like a hotel apartment with swimming pools and mod cons, it is still part of a small and established village.

Great well-located apartment in beautiful surroundings

We had a fabulous holiday in this great apartment. Very well equipped, especially for those with young children like us, nicely decorated and with lovely Moorish features such as the wooden shuttered windows which keep the apartment cool and dark despite the hot summer sun.

The apartment block is very well maintained - workmen are always out keeping the gardens immaculate and the pool clean. You are asked to respect other residents so inflatables are not allowed in the pool and you are asked to be quiet during siesta between 3-5pm.

The village is very pretty with a few tapas bars, a castle, church and amenities such as supermarkets and banks. Explore the back streets and you will find lovely streams, a beautiful looking restaurant, characterful houses and the renowned Jardin Nazari inspired by the Alhambra Palace.

Very good location from which to explore the stunning coastline and beach towns of Salobrena, Almunecar, La Herradura and Nerja. There is a great drive through mountain canyons to Salobrena and an easy drive north to visit Grenada (35 mins) and the Sierra Nevada mountain range (1 hour).

The hosts were very helpful and quickly fixed a problem with wifi. We were met by Castro who was very patient waiting for us to arrive at 1am when we got delayed and provided a surprise welcome back of goodies which came in very handy and was a lovely touch. There were also additions like shower gel and shampoo which was unexpected and very generous.

All in all a very relaxing holiday in a lovely apartment which we would highly recommend to others.

Beautiful apartment in a great location

The apartment was great, spacious, clean and had everything you need to make it an enjoyable vacation in the area. From crisp white bedding, towels(including for the pool), to all you need in the kitchen, including a laundry machine and dishwasher. Like home!

The location in ideal when you want to visit as much as you can in a short time(we stayed there for 4 days only). It is great if you want to visit Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Malaga or even Gibraltar if you stay longer.

Thank you for a wonderful time in Andalusia!

Clean bright and nicely central

We arrived at silly o'clock but no problem meeting the agent and settling in. Very nice apartment, clean and well-fitted, a short walk to the centre of town, and easy access to two roads out and about to the beaches and Granada, we were very pleased. That pool was exactly as good as it looks in the pic!

Only reason there isn't a full five stars was noisy family in next apartment which is always luck of the draw, but once the doors to the private patio were shut even that wasn't a problem.

Quick reminder to anyone arriving on holiday in the middle of the night - either pre-arrange milk or take milk powder with you for late night / early morning - I packed sachets at the last minute and was very glad I did as having to get dressed and rush out when gasping for the morning brew would have been a pain.
