About the property

"Home from home" accommodation, everything a couple needs for a relaxing stay.

Please check our website : http://www.coachmansloft.co.uk

Coachman’s loft is a delightfully spacious first floor conversion of a stone barn dating back over 250 years, situated off the main street in the heart of West Witton in the lee of Penhill. It is a Visit England Four Star Property which comprises a double bedroom with a king size bed, a living area including a kitchen and dining area, and a shower room. Parking is on the adjacent quiet road off the main street.

The Barn is located within the owners’ property which is entered from the well-kept cottage style garden and patio area. There is also space for a summer evening barbeque. Tastefully renovated and recently decorated throughout for the 2016 season the barn conversion offers outstanding accommodation with high quality furnishings and “home from home” facilities. The property is heated throughout by thermostatically controlled electric storage heaters.

The entrance door leads to a hall/lobby area for coats and muddy boots and the accommodation is accessed by wooden and stone stairs. The cosy open plan living area features a sitting area, dining area, a breakfast bar and a well equipped kitchen. Across the landing past the shower room and toilet is the large double bedroom. There is a king size bed with a comfy mattress and plenty of cupboard and drawer space. Guests are welcome to use the owners’ private garden seating and patio area.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just a quick note to say thank you for all you done during our stay. The storage of the bikes was really great!

We found the loft to be clean and well appointed and the tea and cake on arrival was a real treat.

With the location of the loft within West Witton we had no trouble in eating and drinking out! Also we found the location in the dales, ideal for exploring!

We hope to make a return visit for a little longer next time!

Comfortable accommodation awaits

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous stay at the barn conversion of Steve and Carol. The place is spacious, comfortable, tastefuuly fitted out and a real home away from home. It is in a great location, close to all amenities, tourist spots and offers a location for fabulous walks. Steve and Carol are thoughtful hosts who care about providing the best for their guests. We highly recommend this place and would happily return.

lovely accomodation very clean and comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

Carol and Steve are very nice hosts, Carols sponge and scones were very well received and enjoyed.

We were shown round rhe loft on arrival and shown the workings of appliances. the information pack was there if needed, puzzles, games, books and information leaflets were all on site.

The local pubs in the village both served food, one even served real ale from a local brewer. All together wonderful.

A wonderful break in the delightful Yorkshire Dales

  • 5 of 5

What a pleasure to find such comfortable accommodation. The barn is cosy, warm and tastefully furnished and the bed was more comfy than ours at home! Everything you could need is provided, all in all it's a home from home. Carol and Steve made us so welcome and we were really appreciative of the bowl of fruit, the pot of tea and delicious cake on our arrival and the surprise treat of warm scones and jam one afternoon. We would certainly recommend Coachman's Loft and thank Carol and Steve for such an enjoyable stay.

Lovely home for our week's holiday

  • 4 of 5

Property is spacious, light and airy, well furnished and equipped. Welcoming, friendly owners while not intruding on our privacy. Thankfully no requests to fill in a visitors book! Beautiful area to explore on foot or with wheels.

An exceptionally well presented and comfortable accommodation.

  • 5 of 5

The works undertaken to create the Coachman's Loft in this former Barn are of a very high standard, resulting in a well considered and comfortable accommodation.

The property enjoys interesting views over the well kept garden and adjoining rooftops to the distant Yorkshire hills.

We were warmly received on our arrival with tea and scones.

As a retired married couple who put great emphasis on a comfortable quality bed this one was great!

Thank you for the part you played in making our weeks holiday so enjoyable.

Perfect place to stay for two people

  • 5 of 5

The Coachman’s loft is a fabulous place to stay, home from home comforts, spotlessly clean, everything that you need and a great location for exploring the Dales. Carol and Steve are the perfect hosts, there if you need them for local knowledge advice but totally non-intrusive. The bottle of wine, fruit and welcoming cup of tea with home-made muffins were a real treat! All the locals are friendly and helpful, excellent food and drinks on the doorstep. Highly recommended for couples wanting to get away from it all.
