About Julie

Originally from the UK I have lived and worked in the UK, Corfu and the Maldives.

Previously I worked as a villa representative for a leading villa rental company. I am now happy to help out the lovely owners of this villa in sharing this beautiful setting with others.

Why Julie chose Kassiopi

Ideal for couples or small families, homely without having that big villa feel. A place you feel you can simply relax and enjoy, with a fabulous view over Kassiopi Harbour, the sea and the Albanian mountains beyond.

What makes this villa unique

Location, location, you don't have to move from your poolside to enjoy the magnificent views, the fireworks on August 15th, the beautiful view as the ferries glide silently past.

The villa is on a hill side which gives it the stunning views, however you can walk down into Kassiopi in around 10 minutes. Immediately at the bottom of the hill you can decide to take a leisurely walk around the headland, which takes you into the harbour, or to walk through the village to the square.

Stunning location and impressive property

  • 5 of 5

The property is spacious and very well equipped

The swimming pool with infinity edge is impressive though the temperature was a little cold for regular use in April

The location on a hilltop overlooking Kassiopi is stunning with spectacular views of the Albanain mountains

The price you pay Is that the villa is a strenuous ten minute steep walk from the village (a powerful torch was provided for after dark) but if you have a hire car you can drive pretty much to the front door

And indeed once there the setting Is incredibly peaceful

As for facilities, there's is good air con, French doors open from the two main bedrooms on to the terrace, there's is English language sat tv And perfectly good wifi There is also a utility room with washing machine and three bath/shower rooms Our little boy loved it and it looks even better in real life than in the pictures Lots of info was also provided on how to get there And what to do there. So would happily recommend

Beautiful Villa Malva and the amazing view

  • 5 of 5

Villa Malva was the best villa we have stayed in, it is simply outstanding inside and outside and the facilities are superb, beautifully modern and the decor is classy, but what really gives it the wow factor is the amazing view you get from every window, it really is spectacular, overlooking Kassiopi village, to the sea beyond and Albania. Plenty of loungers and the infinity pool is the icing on the cake with that amazing view! Mosquito nets on all windows were fantastic. The only compromise is the hill up to the villa which is very steep but only 10 mins from village centre. It was a fantastic holiday and would return to Villa Malva in a minute.

Amazing location

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at Villa Malva during August 2016 for a couple of weeks, three adults and two children ages 7 & 10. The adults took the main bedrooms, each with en-suite, whilst the kids loved the mezzanine level which has two single beds plus storage. There was a separate house bathroom the kids used. There is air con in each of the main bedrooms plus a central unit which also serves the mezzanine.

The villa is exceptionally well equipped, inside and out – there was everything we could possibly have needed to self-cater. Although wi-fi is included there was no TV reception – there’s a TV & DVD player, but no satellite TV at the moment although we understand this is planned for 2017.

The outside area is stunning. To the right of the property is an old olive tree orchard which has been allowed to mature. To the left is an adjoining smaller property which was unoccupied – this is privately owned and used only a few times each year.

The view over Kassiopi and beyond the sea to Albania is amazing – we never tired of it.

The pool is a nice size and warms up in the sun, there’s plenty of loungers, chairs, etc plus an outside eating area.

Julie from the management company was fantastic. Although we arrived late at night she was there at the villa to greet us and checked in a few times during our stay to make sure everything was okay. There was a water shortage during our stay but there’s a large capacity tank behind the villa – this ran out at one point and Julie immediately arranged for a tanker to fill this for us – problem solved.

Overall the villa far exceeded our expectations. We have stayed in Greece many times and this villa was a gem – partly because everything was new and modern, but also for the service we received from Julie and the very exceptional location.

The only catch is the hill up to the villa is steep. We managed it just fine, but if you’re unfit you may struggle. Imagine the 199 steps up to Whitby abbey – if you can do that you’ll have no problems!

Top tips:

Hire a boat from the harbour (easy to drive) and go down the coast. There’s small harbours where waiters from local restaurants help you park up, also secluded beaches, etc – we had a wonderful day out doing just this.

Avoid Hydropolis waterpark unless you have little kids

Take a decent LED torch – the hill up to the villa is unlit.

The perfect greek holiday villa with stunning views, quiet and in walking distance to tavernas

  • 5 of 5

The villa has - as described - all you need for a relaxed holiday, but it is much more:

- fantastic sunrise views

- nights in the lights of the stars near the pool and views to Kassiopi harbor glimmering

- you feel in the nature with all the olive trees around

- within 10 minutes, you can walk down to the beach or the tavernas, but at night you hear nothing from the party music in the village

- and much more, the place is just wunderful

If you want to spend a greek holiday, villa Malva at Kassiopi make your dreams come true!

Car: recommended

Kassiopi is a fishing village on the North East coast of Corfu and fishermen still set sail and land their catches in the pretty harbour which is overlooked by the ancient fortress, which has been recently restored.

The view from the villa looks out over the harbour and the headland. Within the village there is something for everyone, a great selection of restaurants offering local and international cuisines and of course lots of fresh fish.

You can relax in harbour side bars early evening and join in the night life later on when the DJ's entertain at the late night bars.

There are several beaches around the headland at Kassiopi and the main beach is at Kalamionas just down the hill from Villa Malva. The beaches are mainly pebbles which makes for good snorkeling but for those wishing for sand a couple of minutes drive to the north will take you to Kalamaki Beach, sandy with shallow sea for a long distance and a little further onward towards the sandy beaches of St Spiridon.

Diving can be arranged from the village as can self drive boat hire. The Corfu coast line is classic for boating with its many coves accessible only by boat and its' waterfront tavernas where the waiters will help you to moor before enjoying a leisurely lunch with them. 5 minutes in the car takes you to Avlaki with its sailing school and horse-riding and 10-15 minutes by car on the coast road south from the village is Kalami with its excellent water skiing.

We have 2 bakeries providing fresh bread every morning, a fish monger in high season, chain and locally owned supermarkets, a hairdresser and beauty salon and travel offices offering a variety of excursions including to the mainland of Greece and neighbouring Albania and the islands of Paxos and Anti Paxos.

Private excursions can also be arranged with boat hire and captain or by taxi, and these can be discussed with your house manager.
