Luis and Lola's Apartment

Great apartment. Plenty of room. Great location. Straight across from beach. Luis and Lola, was there to meet us. They made us feel very welcome.Any probs. Just ring them, and they can't not do enough for you. They supply a couple of bikes for you. The area is very flat, so great way to explore. Luis even gave us a lift back to the airport. I would recommend this apartment. If I go to Murcia again, we would not hesitate to go here again. All the best Jackie and Kevin. xx.

1st line 1st choice property

Having stayed in this area many times in different types of accommodation I would have to say that this property is now my 1st choice for future vacations; if possible.

With exceptional views of the Mar Menor it exceeded all expectations. The kitchen had everything we required including an enormous stove top coffee maker for coffee

connoisseurs.

The beds were comfortable and made cosier by the first duvets I have seen in Spain.

The bathroom elegant and modern.

Exceptionally clean with choice pieces of upcycled furniture by Lola.

My friend had never been to this area before and she is still raving about it and this property made for a great base and completed an extensive tour of south-eastern Spain.

Never Again!

This is the first time I have posted a negative review. On arrival to this property the first thing we noticed was major work getting done to the pavement outside the property which looked like it had been ongoing for some time. I was so disappointed and when I mentioned this to Luis and his wife I was advised that they were just finishing up. This was not the case. The work continued for the duration of our holiday. The view we had was of work men, lorries, fork lift machine and paving slabs which were sitting 6ft high. The noise was unbelievable and was constant. They were cutting through paving stones and the noise and dust was horrific. We had no view and we certainly had no privacy as the work men could see directly into the property. I ended up contacting Luis to ask why he did not tell us about the work that was getting done so that we had the option to book somewhere else. The response I got was a shrug. I had been saving for some time and this holiday was for my dad's 70th birthday. I will be taking matters further and I am looking into compensation due to not being informed of the situation prior to arrival. The owners had a duty to inform me which they failed to do. It would appear as long as they get paid that's all that matters. Please also note that the accommodation did not meet our expectations. The beds were so uncomfortable and you could not move without them constantly squeaking which can be heard all around the house. If you go to the bathroom through the night you will wake up everybody as the handle squeaks so loud. When turning on the taps in the bathroom the taps move to the side and you have to straighten them. The lights in 2 of the bedroom would come on 5 minutes later after switching them on. There is only one socket for the kettle, toaster and microwave so you can't make tea and toast at the same time and only 3 cups for making tea/coffee. BUT the main issue was not being advised of the constant noise, dust and lack of privacy! We are so glad to be home! Even though we contacted Luis and he came and witnessed the noise and everything else not once did he offer us compensation! As long as my money is in his pocket he is quite happy!

Owner's Response: This is also for me the first time I put a negative comment from a guest. Suzzane's family stayed a week in the house. They arrived on a Tuesday and left the following Tuesday. On Friday morning I went to ask them how they were doing. I was treated by the Suzzane couple who told me they were very well, with which I understood that the whole family was well. On Saturday and Sunday the workers do not work, therefore there could be no noise. If it is true that on Monday, the day before leaving for your country, (before that day she did not contact me to tell me they were not happy there) Suzanne called me early because there was a lot of noise and dust, and I went immediately to the house to see what happened. The annoying noise stopped at 10.30 am, but to compensate I offered them another house that I have very close to it, where I spend the summer, where they could spend the last day of their stay, which they despised. To apologize I also offered to invite them to breakfast or to eat everyone, which they did not accept either. As a conclusion, the public works done by the town hall on the street are not the responsibility of the owner, and I have another house to offer in case the guests tell me they are not comfortable, but they told me the day before their departure and they did not accept the change. Suzzane wants the return of the money, after passing six people during seven days and they paid me only 322 euros. I think that it is very unfair and annoying for me, because I only wants that my guests enjoy their stay here and I tried to solve the problem when they informed us but they refused it.

Good winter base

Fantastic position and large, clean apartment. Only criticism would be that the bathroom needs an update and in desperate need of a shower curtain!!

Beds not overly comfy and separate pillows rather than a bolster would be better.

All in all would stay again out of season (no a/c so couldn't do the summer!).

The loan of the bikes was a fantastic addition, thank you!

Owner's Response: The house is being renovated and we will take into consideration the comments. It is a house that has a vintage style. It does not need air conditioning since it is on the beach and it is very cool even in summer. It has fans on the roof of the bedrooms. In winter it is warm to have south orientation and have sun throughout the day, also has heat radiators. Its location is perfect having the first line of the beach and being in front of the promenade. The space-quality ratio is unbeatable and is delivered with two modern bicycles to get to know the area free of charge- The house is very well decorated with Mediterranean style and is very comfortable. No guest had complained about the beds or the pillows or the bathroom, which, as shown in the photos, has been restored. We will take it into consideration for future reforms. I think a three star rating is scarce for what the house offers in terms of style, location and price in addition to the extras. So far the ratings have always been four or even five stars. We will continue to improve for the future and we take criticism as a challenge for our next guests I hope you come back soon to see the improvements we will continue making

A lovely apartment on the beach.

Excellent house in great location. Highly recommended.

Luis could not have been more friendly and helpful. He checked back the next day to see that We were Ok. We had everything we needed in the house which was spotlessly clean. The two bikes were an added bonus. which we used every day. The area is very flat for miles in every direction. We will definitely be returning.
