La Ferme de La Tour
La Ferme de La Tour is an ensemble of beautiful old farm buildings dating back to the 16th century. Overlooking 2 1/2 acres of parkland, are four impeccably presented cottages / barn conversions, and a large chlorine free heated swimming pool. High on a hill, at the top of a valley, we are surrounded by magnificent countryside, a network of pretty footpaths and a neighbouring historical château. The breathtaking valley views, gardens and huge skies will overwhelm you with a feeling of peace and tranquillity disturbed only by the abundance of wildlife and the occasional distant tractor. The pool, which is bathed in sunshine from dawn to dusk, is perfectly sited to maximise the views of the Dordogne valley. Each gite has excellent WIFI reception. To visit our personal website scroll all the way down and click on the link at the bottom of the page just above the car hire advert and similar properties.
WIFI is available throughout, with boosters in each gite, ensuring a good reception no matter where you are..........
On site activities include table tennis, boules, badminton, football net and swings..
During the summer ( end of May to the end of September ) Le Fournil and The Cottage are available on a Friday to Friday basis. La Grange and La Petite Grange are both available on a Saturday to Saturday basis. We are flexible during the remainder of the year.
We welcome families and couples alike, however our premises are not suitable for children under five years of age.

About the Owner
About Chris and Kate Waters
We are an average family of four that originate from the village of Wroxham in Norfolk in the east of England.
Why did we move to France ? Why not...... We are, or should I say were, the same as most working families in the western world, devoted parents, but having to give ourselves and far too much time to careers which involve long hours and stress. So we looked for an alternative and France seemed like the right choice. The choice provided us with more stress and longer hours than you can imagine and for the first three or four years it was extremely hard work, both physically and mentally. However we are now reaping the benefits and enjoying our new life to the full, in one of the most beautiful areas we could have dreamed of living.
Chris and Kate Waters purchased this cottage in 2004
Why Chris and Kate Waters chose Perigord Noir
We moved lock stock and barrel to the Sarlat area in 2004, buying a set of empty farm buildings that needed far too much work. But the position and the views had us hooked and nothing came anywhere near a close second. So here we are, several years have past and the renovation and transformation completed, but not without some real highs and lows and a vast collection of stories and experiences.
What makes this cottage unique
The position is magical and just not possible to capture in a picture.
We have been extremely lucky to find a property with such a formula of character, views and location. We are close to Sarlat, which is the jewel of the Dordogne, yet in a truly rural setting in stunning countryside.
The letting period for the cottage is based on a Friday to Friday rental during high and peak season and we are happy to be flexible with dates outside of these periods.
Our rental prices include: ... all bed linen, hand and bath towels, heating, electricity, gas, local taxes and cleaning charges.
Pool towels are available to rent at 5 euros per person and issued for the duration of your holiday

A great wee cottage, really cosy.
We stayed at The Cottage for five weeks from mid December. When we arrived Chris and Kate had lit the wood burning stove and it was glowing away nicely. They even put up a Christmas tree for us, it was great. There was a comfortable sitting/dining/kitchen room with nice furniture, UK TV, good wifi, and a well equipped kitchen. Upstairs there were two good sized bedrooms, and a nice shower room. The wood burner kept the whole house warm, but there was also effective electric heaters if needed. Outside there was a swimming pool (not for December) and a huge sweeping lawn for outdoor games. The local cycling was really good, with long, medium and short routes, hilly or otherwise to suit the rider. The Cottage was less than 15 minutes drive from Sarlat, with its supermarkets, coffee shops and dozens of restaurants. We would certainly go back to this location.
Excellent location, property & welcome
It was great to return to La Ferme de la Tour. The welcome from Chris & Kate was as warm as we remember from last time and the facilities are excellent. The cottage and gardens are extremely well kept and clean and nothing is too much trouble.
The kids love the pool and grounds with all of the sports to play (there were a few competitive games of badminton after our everning BBQ!!).
The location of the property is perfect as it is only a short drive from Sarlat, but it set within a beautiful and quiet setting.
We hope to return again
We were really well looked after. Gite very clean with a decent level of equipment, super swimming pool. Views to die for from The Cottage and grounds. We will be back very soon.
Home away from home
This place was fantastic. The scenery was better than it shows in the pictures. The hosts were fantastic. Chris went out of his way above and beyond to accommodate us. We couldn't ask for better hosts! I would definitely recommend this vacation rental. And if I'm fortunate enough, I would love the opportunity to come back.
Perfectly located and well equipped
In a gorgeous rural location, this property is compact and well equipped for a simple French holiday. The hosts were friendly and discreet but available with plenty of suggestions to make the most of our holiday. The pool and entertainment for he kids capped off the perfect stay.
Warm welcome to a peaceful gite in beautiful area.
We were given a warm welcome by Chris and Kate. They certainly went the extra mile to make sure we had everything that we needed. The gite was cosy and well supplied with all that we needed. The peacefulness and the views were fabulous yet very handy to Sarlat just less than 10 minutes away. We didn't want to leave and hope to be back.

Activity and Interests
Situated within the hamlet of La Tour we are two minutes from the pretty village of Sainte Nathalene with a bar, hotel, restaurants and small shop. Just 7 miles from the historical town of Sarlat-la-Caneda with more listed buildings than any other town in Europe and a twice weekly market, it is perfectly placed for access to all of the most beautiful sites in Dordogne and Lot. There are numerous chateaux to visit, caves to explore and pretty market towns to meander through. There is also a wide range of outdoor activities for all ages close by. The Perigord region is famous for it's quality food and wine (of which Sarlat with an array of street entertainment is arguably the capital) available at very affordable rates. For the even more serious wine lover then Bergerac and it's fine wine region is only an hour away. For those that want to sample the local wine then transport can be arranged locally. Please contact us for details of our website and further internal and external pictures.
All accommodation has satellite television with a large choice of English speaking channels available and DVD players..........
The gites have been converted to a high standard in which we ( the owners ) take great pride. We have stayed in many gites in France and have taken our experiences and put together a range of accommodation that would exceed our own expectations and hope that it helps to make your holiday something special..........
All accommodation is well insulated helping you stay comfortable throughout both the summer and winter seasons. The Cottage and La Grange both have wood burning stoves and logs are provided...........
All bed linen, bath towels, hand towels, tea clothes, gas and electricity are included............
The pool is shared with the owners and guests staying at the accommodation within La Ferme de La Tour............
A library of DVD's is available on request.................
All properties are available all year..................
Other Activities in the area include: canoeing, ballooning, karting, wine tasting, paint ball, air parks, quad biking,
Golf: There are some great golf courses in the area with four courses being within a 30 kilometer distance.
