Overall the cottage was lovely and we especially liked the kitchen area

  • 3 of 5

The cottage was located in a great place, walk to the beach at Carbis bay and into St Ives. The kitchen area was great and we enjoyed eating and talking at the large table. Kitchen facilities were good. The bedrooms were clean and pretty with plenty of storage.

We had a great week here but it was let down by the bathroom. The shower broke 3 times and we had to get the plumber in twice. This isn't acceptable for a holiday rental property, it should have been checked out before our stay and fixed properly.

Lovely family break in a very comfy house

  • 5 of 5

We had a brilliant week exploring the local area and very much enjoyed staying at Bryher Cottage. There are beautiful views from the main bedroom, and the house has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay.

The beach at Carbis Bay is a 15 minute downhill walk that is pretty steep, but definitely worth it. The walk to St Ives is about 30 minutes along the main road, but there are some amazing views on the way. There's a large Tesco just around the corner which was perfect for us as we had a small baby and kept remembering things we'd forgotten to bring!

The house is perfect for a family holiday and is very well equipped. It's very homely and we loved sitting round the big dining table.

We managed to fit two cars in the parking area out the back. It was a little tight, but a real bonus to have off-road parking!

The house is on a main road so the traffic was quite loud when the windows were open, but this didn't spoil our stay at all. The bathroom is also very small, but it worked for us.

There is loads to see and do in St Ives and the beaches are amazing. We will definitely be back!

Charming cottage in the heart of Carbis Bay

  • 4 of 5

A lovely cottage in a great location. Bright and airy, the cottage is beautifully decorated and very well equipped with everything you would need for a long stay; a real home from home.

The location is great for accessing the beaches at Carbis Bay and St Ives. There is a supermarket just up the road and a lovely fish and chip shop nearby too.

The noise from the road at the front of the house was a bit loud in the master bedroom and the bed was a bit too soft for our liking but these were only minor niggles and didn't spoil our stay.

A great holiday in a wonderful house. Would recommend and return.

A very pretty little cottage within walking distance of fabulous beaches and St Ives town

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of five with 3 teenage children. The cottage was perfectly adequate for our needs. It was clean, tidy and had everything you could need for a fortnight's holiday. My husband drives a lot for his work so we ideally needed a holiday where once we were there, we could just relax with little or no driving. Bryher Cottage, Carbis Bay was just such a place. Ten minutes walk to a beautiful calm sandy beach, 25 mins walk to a fantastic surfing beach and 20 mins walk to St Ives town with its quaint fishermen's cottages and a variety of shops selling everything you could possibly want or need to buy. The picturesque harbour is family friendly with a host of activities to keep you amused. We also had the pleasure of seeing some visiting seals at the aptly named Seal Pier. There are also several amazing walks that take you in every direction. We would recommend The Harbour Inn for a delicious carvery Sunday lunch (make sure you book in advance) and a cream tea at The Digey Cafe is a must. We would also recommend the homemade pizzas at The Carbis Bay Hotel beach cafe. Overall we could not have asked for a more enjoyable holiday in a beautiful part of Cornwall in a beautiful cottage. Our thanks to the very friendly and helpful owners, Paul and Sharon Kelly and to Alan Doyle who looked after us while we were there.

charmantes Cottage

  • 5 of 5
