Overview

About the property

Perfectly located for Stratford, the Cotswolds, Warwick, the NEC and Cheltenham.

Middle Wymson House is set in the secluded grounds of a hIstoric Grade 2 listed thatched farmhouse in the pretty hamlet of Wimpstone surrounded by some of Warwickshire's most delightful countryside.

The house is perfectly located for Stratford upon Avon for everything Shakespeare, riverside walks, the races, busy pubs and fabulous restaurants. If this is not enough the Cotswolds offers charming villages and historic houses for a little more culture. And if the city life is more to your liking, Birmingham and the NEC are just under an hour away and Warwick, Leamington Spa and Cheltenham are a lot closer.

The House overlooks the paddock where you can watch over the alpacas and pygmy goats. All are happy to be fed and cuddled at anytime!

Having undergone complete renovation the house leaves you wanting for nothing. Modern fittings are perfectly balanced with the charm of an historic building. It offers you a luxurious home with three beautifully appointed bedrooms all with en-suites, a spacious open plan kitchen, living and dining area with stunning vaulted ceiling and mezzanine floor. You can enjoy the rural life; nestle by the roaring fire or relax outside in the paddock watching the alpacas graze and the goats play.

If you want to be more active there are walks and cycle routes from your doorstep. The River Stour just two minutes away is also a favourite spot with local fishermen. Your tennis court is also available for a quick knock about (tennis racquets are provided) or you can play all day.

Excellent in all respects

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have found a more perfect place as our base for exploring the area for our family of 5. We don't have enough good things to say about the homeowners. Wonderfully helpful and accommodating. We hope to come back soon - miss it, and them, already!

Magical family stay with some major Alpaca Power!

  • 5 of 5

We (family of 4) had a wonderful stay at this neat, clean and comfy cottage in the countryside just outside Stratford.

Kay and Brian (not to mention Buttercup the dog) are lovely welcoming hosts. The property itself has three smart and cosy bedrooms all with bathrooms, a funky loft-like sitting / telly room and a bright, airy kitchen that leads out onto a terrace or onto the tennis court!

Right next to the house is the field with the star attractions - three alpacas, two goats and a trampoline! The kids had a great time feeding and chatting to the animals and bouncing away.

The place is situated perfectly for an amble across to the wonderful Bell Pub & Restaurant and for jaunts into Stratford, Warwick Castle or the cotswolds - although we were too busy hanging out to do most of this...

Thanks Kay, Brian, Buttercup, Jigsaw, Rolo, Bobble, Biscuit and Echo for an awesome short break.

A lovely place to stay for a family

  • 5 of 5

lovely place - spread out our party of 6 well - plenty of places to sit or to mingle. Great fun having the alpacas. Kay is a great host - very friendly and helpful. Beautiful countryside surrounding and interesting places to visit nearby. Great food in the local pub.

Well appointed, comfortable house in a quiet location well placed for Stratford and the Cotswolds

  • 5 of 5

Warm, friendly welcome from the owners was a good start to a great week. This is a well equipped property with enough space for six adults. We walked in the local area, ate in the local pub, visited a small selection of the apparently endless attractions within a short drive and had a night at the RSC. We would have stayed longer if possible.

Highly recommended.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

The property is beautifully decorated and furnished and the kitchen well-equipped. Plenty of logs provided for the woodburner and more towels than we would ever need. Beds are comfortable, showers are hot and powerful.

Kay welcomed us and was on-hand if we needed anything. Our two children helped every day with the feeding of the al pacas and goats and it truly made their holiday. We spent many hours sitting with the animals as was fascinating to watch them.

The weather was very kind to us so the tennis court was well used.

We had a very special week. Thank you.

Lovely escape into proper countryside

  • 5 of 5

The property itself was very well appointed with everything you needed and then some! Kay was hospitable & very helpful and even prepared a fire for us before we arrived!

Location is excellent and leant itself to exploring the countryside and relaxing after a very busy year.

We will hopefully return again & I can recommend staying here to anyone who wants a genuinely fantastic place to stay!
