Overview

About the property

Perfectly located for Stratford, the Cotswolds, Warwick, the NEC and Cheltenham.

Middle Wymson House is set in the secluded grounds of a hIstoric Grade 2 listed thatched farmhouse in the pretty hamlet of Wimpstone surrounded by some of Warwickshire's most delightful countryside.

The house is perfectly located for Stratford upon Avon for everything Shakespeare, riverside walks, the races, busy pubs and fabulous restaurants. If this is not enough the Cotswolds offers charming villages and historic houses for a little more culture. And if the city life is more to your liking, Birmingham and the NEC are just under an hour away and Warwick, Leamington Spa and Cheltenham are a lot closer.

The House overlooks the paddock where you can watch over the alpacas and pygmy goats. All are happy to be fed and cuddled at anytime!

Having undergone complete renovation the house leaves you wanting for nothing. Modern fittings are perfectly balanced with the charm of an historic building. It offers you a luxurious home with three beautifully appointed bedrooms all with en-suites, a spacious open plan kitchen, living and dining area with stunning vaulted ceiling and mezzanine floor. You can enjoy the rural life; nestle by the roaring fire or relax outside in the paddock watching the alpacas graze and the goats play.

If you want to be more active there are walks and cycle routes from your doorstep. The River Stour just two minutes away is also a favourite spot with local fishermen. Your tennis court is also available for a quick knock about (tennis racquets are provided) or you can play all day.

Lovely house and welcoming hosts

  • 5 of 5

Lovely house, well equipped with very helpful hosts. Rained a lot but lovely wood burning stove kept us warm with lots so nice dry wood. Seemed newly refurbished, nice bathrooms with plenty of hot water. Alpacas watched us play tennis, Kay and Brian invited us on a walk and were full of great information on the local area. Thanks for a great stay, in spite of the rain!

Overall we enjoyed our stay

  • 4 of 5

The property was lovely and clean and we enjoyed our stay.

A few things we weren’t entirely happy with is the heating is controlled by the owners who live next door. Our weekend was exceptionally cold and when we arrived back at the property it was very cold and we were told the heating went off for several hours during the day. We had children with us and I have not stayed in a property before and not been in control of the heating.

The kitchen didn’t have a microwave and although we were offered one when we mentioned it, we had already cooked breakfast.

There were no pint glasses and I think the kitchen would benefit from more than one frying pan.

There were no bins in any bedrooms/bathrooms

We had no bath robes as advertised.

All this aside we had a nice break but would only visit in the summertime as the windows aren’t double glazed and we needed to mop up the windows and sills every morning.

Great place to stay, lovely bedrooms and bathrooms and great communal area and kitchen, everything was really modern and the alpacas and goats made it even more special. Kay was a great host and we are so glad we chose to stay here!

Family weekend

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned home from a 2 night break, surprise birthday party for 6. The property works perfectly, with a superb day room kitchen, with wood burner and lovely natural light. Upstairs the lounge area is comfortable and links beautifully with the day room. The furnishings are beautifully simple and work with the style of property. Bedrooms with super ensuites, great showers. Kay and Brian, make you feel very welcome and the grounds are lovely including the goats and alpacas. We did use the tennis court, which is a lovely addition. We would definitely return again. Thanks so much.
