About the property

Perfectly located for Stratford, the Cotswolds, Warwick, the NEC and Cheltenham.

Middle Wymson House is set in the secluded grounds of a hIstoric Grade 2 listed thatched farmhouse in the pretty hamlet of Wimpstone surrounded by some of Warwickshire's most delightful countryside.

The house is perfectly located for Stratford upon Avon for everything Shakespeare, riverside walks, the races, busy pubs and fabulous restaurants. If this is not enough the Cotswolds offers charming villages and historic houses for a little more culture. And if the city life is more to your liking, Birmingham and the NEC are just under an hour away and Warwick, Leamington Spa and Cheltenham are a lot closer.

The House overlooks the paddock where you can watch over the alpacas and pygmy goats. All are happy to be fed and cuddled at anytime!

Having undergone complete renovation the house leaves you wanting for nothing. Modern fittings are perfectly balanced with the charm of an historic building. It offers you a luxurious home with three beautifully appointed bedrooms all with en-suites, a spacious open plan kitchen, living and dining area with stunning vaulted ceiling and mezzanine floor. You can enjoy the rural life; nestle by the roaring fire or relax outside in the paddock watching the alpacas graze and the goats play.

If you want to be more active there are walks and cycle routes from your doorstep. The River Stour just two minutes away is also a favourite spot with local fishermen. Your tennis court is also available for a quick knock about (tennis racquets are provided) or you can play all day.

Lovely escape into proper countryside

  • 5 of 5

The property itself was very well appointed with everything you needed and then some! Kay was hospitable & very helpful and even prepared a fire for us before we arrived!

Location is excellent and leant itself to exploring the countryside and relaxing after a very busy year.

We will hopefully return again & I can recommend staying here to anyone who wants a genuinely fantastic place to stay!

Magnificent Stay

  • 5 of 5

A BIG thank you to Kay and her family for the wonderful stay at Middle Wymson this Christmas, 2016. The design of the property was spectacular and worked incredibly well for our family of 4 adults.

We loved having 3 en suite bathrooms, the wonderful wood fire, the kitchen fully-stocked with all the amenities one needs, and the beautiful layout of the property.

Wimpstone is a great base to explore Leamington, Oxford, Solihull, Stratford Upon Avon, and the Cotswolds. We also enjoyed some great walks through the countryside (many ending up at some lovely local pubs).

We hope to return to this lovely part of the country and stay again at this beautiful property. Can't recommend it enough.

Thank you!!

Great house and location

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a wonderful stay here. Kay and Brian were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our two year old daughter loved be able to feed the alpacas and goats. Our bed was very comfortable and I would recommend it for anyone looking to stay in this area. Thanks Kay!

Beautiful house, plenty of space for the 6 of us. Everything we needed was right there.

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing weekend here! Beautiful well designed house with plenty of room for the 6 of us to enjoy. The grounds of the house are amazing and the boys had a great time playing tennis all morning. Feeding the alpacas and pygmy goats was definitely a highlight. Kay and Brian could not have done more for us. Would definitely recommend and would visit again!

A quiet and comfortable base for theatre in Stratford Upon Avon

  • 5 of 5

We spent a very pleasant weekend in this beautifully-decorated and well-equipped cottage. It was damp November so we did not use the tennis court or outside dining area but we did appreciate the wood burning stove and the unlimited supply of wood. We enjoyed feeding the three alpacas and the two pygmy goats. Our hosts were welcoming, helpful and informative. We found this a really good base for seeing two wonderful plays in Stratford Upon Avon. It was nice to return to a quiet, peaceful and cosy place after a busy day out.

Gorgeous little country cottage, fantastic for kids and easy to reach

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic week in this pretty little cottage. It's wonderful for kids with tennis court, large gardens, swings and best of all, Alpacas and goats which the lovely welcoming Kay will help them feed. Cottage is beautifully kept and Kay and Brian were wonderful hosts helping with whatever was needed, lending the odd specialist item that we forgot - very attentive but not at all intrusive. Great activities nearby - we focussed on children - Warwick castle, stratford on avon butterfly farm, mary Arden's farm, Anne Hathaways cottage, etc. Most of the time the children just wanted to have fun in the cottage and gardens though. Several excellent pubs around for lunch/nights out when you don't fancy cooking. Definitely recommend to friends/family.

Owner's Response: Catherine Thank you for your positive feedback. It was a pleasure to meet you all and see the two girls having fun everyday, I had forgotten how children can ask twenty questions in a minute - it was great there was so much to interest them. I hope you will come again. Kind regards Kay
