About the property

2 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, huge reception, wonderful views of paddocks/horses

Upper Calffield Barn is a large, newly converted barn comprising a huge open plan living room (with fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, sink unit, crockery and saucepans). The main reception room is beautifully furnished with a very comfortable tan leather corner sofa, a sofa and coffee table and wall mounted TV. The property has oil fired central heating and there is a wood burning stove for the winter months.

In the conservatory area with its soaring glass roof is a large glass topped dining table with four large carver chairs so you can dine in style.

The conservatory has French windows opening on to the terrace with garden furniture so you can sit with your coffee or glass of wine and enjoy great views of the paddocks and horses and hills beyond.

The master bedroom has a gigantic American king bed, fitted wardrobes and French windows opening onto the terrace, paddocks and fields beyond with the Preselli mountains in the distance. The large master bathroom has a freestanding bath, walk in shower, vanity unit and loo.

There is a second double bedroom with its own shower room with shower cubicle, loo and basin (and a washer dryer).

Fibre optic broadband and BT TV service.

Sorry but no smoking - and dogs not normally accepted.

Why Margaret Kinlay chose Haverfordwest

A sense of space and light due to the beams, the conservatory roof, the French windows opening from the reception and master bedroom onto the terrace; the view of the paddocks, the horses, fields and in the distance the Preselli mountains...

What makes this barn unique

A blend of historic and modernity, keeping the character of the old but with all the benefits and comforts of the new

Beautiful cottage.

Again pictures don't do it justice. Absolutely beautiful. Lovely touch with welcome basket, thank you. Our girls loved the miniature ponies. Would highly recommend and I'm sure we will return. Many thanks.

Owner's Response: Delighted you enjoyed it - and it seems Dylan, Tiny and Ernie are once again the stars of the show! Hope to see you again soon - it's really cosy out of season too with woodburning stove etc. and the Shetlands even love the snow!

A stunning property in an idealic location.

  • 5 of 5

The Barn was clean and bright. A lovely touch was the bottle of wine and biscuits. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would like to return some day. The only negatives were poor lighting in the main Bathroom and a lack of a shaver socket. It would be good if a Fire blanket was positioned near the cooker.

Fantastic place .

  • 5 of 5

This place was 5 star in every way . It's even bigger than it looks on the photos . Everything from the shower to the spoons in the drawer were of high quality and looked brand new . As for the location it was a few minutes outside Haverfordwest then down a lane very rural. Most places of interest were a 20 minute drive away . The middle of nowhere, or the middle of everywhere as my wife and I considered. First time down west Wales but it won't be the last . Stackpole and st davids were 2 of the best coast walks we have ever done . Can't wait to go back to the barn and out west.

Owner's Response: You have no idea how good that is to hear - a lot of time and thought went into the barn conversion (oh yes, and money!) and it's wonderful to get that sort of reaction. Thank you for your kind words and come back soon!

Upper Calf Field Barn

  • 5 of 5

The accommodation was lovely -spacious and modern yet rustic. All beautifully decorated, and everything we could have possibly needed was there - except in view of the amazing heatwave, when perhaps a fan would have been nice - but who expects Wales to be this hot? The bed was comfortable, the towels were generous and fluffy. The information pack lead us to places easily. We loved Solva, and swam at Druidstone without wet suits. The Last Invasion Tapestry in the library at Fishguard is well worth a visit, also the reconstructed Stone Age Village just outside Newport. We would love to come again

Owner's Response: Delighted you liked the barn - and found plenty to do in the area. And yes, the barn now has a fan - sorry it was too late for you! Hope to see you again soon.

What a gem

  • 5 of 5

This lovely property was well maintained and very clean on arrival. It was well equipped particularly in the kitchen where everything you need is provided. Margaret is very friendly and provides great customer service. It was great having a lockable shed where sports equipment could be left safely.

There are lots of lovely walks in the area Plumstone Mountain is nice and quiet with great views. If in the area a trip to Skomer Island in spring shouldn't be missed to see puffins up close.

Modern, well furnished and equipped barn conversion, conveniently located for local amenities

  • 5 of 5

We'd booked here as it is central to all coasts and places of interest in Pembrokeshire. It is located in open country side but within 10 minutes of supermarkets, and a retail park with a M&S food in Haverfordwest and very close to the A40 for travel further afield. The property is recently refurbished and equipped to a high standard with all the appliances you'd expect and plenty of sockets and even some USB charging points and decent internet if you want it.

Although it is attached to the main house the garden is secluded and it does not feel overlooked. There are places to store your bikes out of sight.

There is a pub across the road which is welcoming but it only serves food at the end of the week.

I would thoroughly recommend this property and would happily stay here again if we return to the area for another break
