Location! Location! Location! Front line beach with mountain views

This wonderful complex lies on the front line beach with stunning sea front and garden views, perfect for guests wanting to rest, relax and recharge before getting back to their hustling and bustling lifestyles!

Our top floor traditional apartment is situated on one of the glorious beaches that La Cala de Mijas has to offer, with two bedrooms, one bathroom and a walk out balcony to enjoy a glass of wine on a summer's afternoon. The master bedroom has a double bed and sofabed, the second bedroom has two single beds. Both bedrooms have comfy mattresses and clean freshly laundered sheets. Towels are also provided and the entire apartment is professionally cleaned before the arrival of our guests.

The living room is open plan with a dining space and a living area large enough for four people. The Smart TV offers access to Netflix, You Tube etc. and also has IPTV installed for UK channels, you can also watch UK TV programmes from the previous week, great for watching Film 4 films in the evenings. Air conditioning and heating has been fitted in the apartment, as well as WiFi so you can keep in touch with your family and friends! ☺

The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge freezer, oven, kettle, toaster, microwave etc, so in case you are in the mood for some cooking, go for it! Filtered water is installed so you don't have to keep buying bottled water! And there is also a washing machine for laundry.

The best part for us is that the apartment is part of a complex that offers facilities for use! Such as:

- Maintained public gardens with spectacular beach front views

- Swimming pool (and kids pool) to cool down in the sun

- Tennis courts to practice those Federer backhand strokes

- Gym (although I do prefer a morning run on the beach!)

- Library for some downtime reading

- Pool and billiards room

- Lovely large terrace for you to enjoy the beautiful sea view while having a drink and some Tapas

- There’s even a private pub for residents serving draught pints for around €2 on site!

There is so much about, from bars and restaurants to supermarkets and pharmacies across the road. There is a parade of cafes and restaurants opposite the complex ranging from Spanish to Korean cuisine! American too… McDonalds is a short walk away.. but don’t give in! Try the local restaurants instead ☺ For nightlife, Fuengirola and Marbella have splendid bars, restaurants and clubs.

What are the top attractions in Costa del Sol? Where to begin! Further west along the coast there are various places great for people and yacht watching; Cabopino beaches and marina and Puerto Banus. Old and new towns of Marbella are also worth visiting, as well as Pueblos Blancos, the inland white villages. There are a large number of golf courses too in the area, including El Chaparral and Miraflores Golf Club (10 min drive from our apartment). And of course there’s something for the kids too! - Selwo Dolphin Park is a 15 min drive, Tivoli World, Benalmadena Sea World and Marina, crocodile park and water park all within 20 min drive. Getting around, there are taxi stands and bus stops nearby for those wanting to explore the area. There is also a boardwalk for those morning and evenings walks along the beach coast!

House Rules:

At least one member in the booking must be over 25 as the complex is more geared towards families and couples.

No smoking in the apartment however there is a large open terrace on the ground floor with beautiful views to enjoy your smoke.

Why The Owner chose Sitio de Calahonda

Location of our apartment we think is fantastic; Our apartment is located in South of Spain’s Calahonda, in the coastal zone of La Cala de Mijas (Costa Mijas). It sits between Fuengirola to the east, Marbella to the west, and is roughly a 25 minute drive from Malaga airport.

The closest bus stop is outside the main gate on the left from where you can get the M220 bus to Fuengirola. Getting the M220 bus from the opposite side of the road on the right will take you to Marbella bus station.

There is so much about, from bars and restaurants to supermarkets and pharmacies across the road. There is a parade of cafes and restaurants opposite the complex ranging from Spanish to Korean cuisine! American too… McDonalds is a short walk away.. but don’t give in! - There’s even a private pub for residents serving draught pints on site! You can get a pint of beer for €2 and fresh coffee for €1.20 (please note the bar is closed on Tuesdays). Keys for the billiards room, gym and library can be obtained from the bar.

• Restaurants, cafes and bars in the neighborhood:

1) There is a beach bar on site open in summer the end of the complex, delicious fresh Paella and fish dishes.

2) There are restaurants and bars within 5 min walk from the apartment across the road and also to the right of the apartment.

3) There is also a food court located behind Supersol which is across the road on the right. 8 min walk.

4) McDonalds is 1km to the left. 12 min walk.

• Supermarket/Grocery stores in the neighborhood:

1) The Mercadona supermarket is across the road to the left, it is the cheapest and best quality compared to others. 5 min walk.

2) Supersol is across the road to the right. 8 min walk.

3) Lidl supermarket is further up on the left past McDonalds. 15 min walk.

• Nearest Shopping centres:

1) La Cala. 6 min drive, 6km walk on boardwalk

2) Fuengirola. 15 min drive.

3) Marbella & La Canada. 15 min drive

• Nearest post office/cash point/pharmacy/hospital:

​Post Office, cash points and pharmacy are across the road. Local medical centre is to the right. 2 min walk.

Mansion Alhamar Calahonda

The apartment was lovely and clean when we arrived and Paul (key holder) made us feel very welcome gave us all the information we needed and was available if required, it was perfect for me my husband and 10 year old granddaughter, it is not really suitable if you have young children or babies as there are a lot of steps to encounter to get to the pool or beach, the pool was very clean with sun loungers around, the apartment is on the 4th floor but thankfully there is a lift , we had a really lovely time everyone in the complex was friendly , it was a very relaxing two weeks.

The apartment is fully air-conditioned and heated. There is free parking on the grounds and there is direct lift access to the apartment. Outside: The complex has 1 shared pool and 1 children’s pool. There are showers and toilets by the pools. The apartment has 2 Juliet balconies. The terrace has wonderful sea views, and is not overlooked. All bedding and towels are provided (not beach towels). Cleaning is included at the end of the rental. We offer a meet and greet service, so that clients are met by our presentative upon arrival, and shown around the apartment and grounds.

Please note that the property is located next to the N340/A7.
