About Dot Woolley

This is a family holiday home owned by my daughter's family and me and my husband. I am originally from Stoke on Trent but we all now live in Derby. I have two children and 8 grandchildren. Over the last 10 years we have spent a lot of time renovating the property from 3 flats back into one large Victorian house which I hope you will all enjoy.

Dot Woolley purchased this house in 2009

Why Dot Woolley chose Bridlington

We chose this property mainly for the sea views and the fact that it is so close to everything - without needing a car.

As a family, Bridlington offers lots for the children to do as we can just walk down to the beach, go swimming, visit the arcades, go to the cinema or bowling. It is also only a couple of hours from Derby so it is ideal for a weekend break for us.

As a family it is nice to be able to just walk to local pubs and restaurants in the evening.

What makes this house unique

Wonderful Sea Views, Victorian 4 storey property that kids just love as they can get lost in it, and even when it is fully occupied you can still find a quiet corner in the house as there are so many rooms.

We park the car when we arrive and it stays there till we leave.

Excellent location, lovely house. Would happily recommend it

  • 4 of 5

The house is very close to the beach and sports centre making it an ideal place for families with children

House had lots of pluses. Good sized kitchen with plenty of equipment.

Hot showers, plenty of towels.

Good sized bedrooms

Good sized lounge

House is over 4 floors with bathrooms on half landings ;lounge on first floor next to a bedroom; kitchen on ground floor so lots of stair climbing.

Outdoor space was not really useable. It was accessed from the basement which felt and smelt damp on arrival but once we had allowed some air to flow through improved..

Had a few cleaning issues on arrival which were quickly resolved by owner..

Fantastic house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We used to always holiday in Bridlington as a child and this was a nostalgic trip. The house is massive - bigger than we anticipated and in a wonderful location near the leisure pool. Good base to explore the Yorkshire coast. They're building a premier inn in Bridlington which I think will bring 'new blood ' and money into Brid. Thoroughly recommend the house - very modern and very clean.

Excellent ideal for a family get together

  • 5 of 5

Very good, well decorated and clean linen, pillows etc.

Excellent equipped kitchen ,superb views of the sea and the weather was so good for us.

Good quality furnishings ensured we were comfortable and felt at home.

We only had a couple of minor issues which didn't spoil our stay ...we couldn't open the back gate with key so had to walk around with the rubbish and one of the bathrooms was not as clean as we would have liked.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your lovely review, will sort out the back gate problem and will mention the bathroom cleanliness to the cleaners.

House with Everything!

  • 5 of 5

A super place for a 4 generation family holiday, even when the weather is not too good. The house had everything we needed. We managed Sunday lunch for 16 when the extended family came for the day. The pool was close by when it rained. We had a proper seaside holiday.

Lovely property close to the sea and shops

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely stay at the bucket and spade.

Property was big enough for 6 adults and 2 children. One issue we had was immediately resolved with a call to the owner. Very clean with plenty of bedding and towels. Kitchen lots of plates, saucepans etc. We did have an attempted break into our roof box on the car so we would advise be cautious to ensure all valuables are out of sight in any vehicles.

As with any seaside resort the noise outside the house (seagulls and party goers) lasts until after 4am but is blocked with the windows closed!

Definitely recommend this property for a large group. Very comfortable stay.
