Perfectly located, well equipped, beautiful cottage with stunning views!

  • 5 of 5

Loved our stay at this cottage! It was in a perfect location & because of this we could leave our car at the cottage & explore Scarborough Bay, the town & the surrounding area!

The cottage was very well equipped! There was everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking & keeping on top of cleaning! There was a washing machine & dishwasher & a stock of cleaning liquids! There was an iron & the oven was very efficient! Storage was brill in all bedrooms! There were 5 of us in our party & there was more than enough storage & room for all of us! There was even a hairdryer provided! The "all in important" wi-fi worked excellently which kept the two children very happy!

The cottage was lovely! Very clean and comfortable! The beds were extremely comfortable & all bedding & soft furnishings were crisp and fresh!

The sea views from all windows were stunning - especially from the fourth floor - called the Crows Nest!

Caroline & Gwyn - the owners, kept in good contact before our stay & sent us all the vital information that we needed!

I wouldn't be being fair if I did not say that the stairs in the property might be a problem for elderly people as they are tight and winding! However, we'd been informed about this from previous reviews & knew what to expect! And they certainly weren't a problem for us!

We all loved our stay at this cottage & would not hesitate to use it again! We will definitely be recommending it to our family and friends!

Owner's Response: Michelle and her family were perfect guests. Our property was left spotless. All communication prior to arrival was polite and our questions were quickly responded to. We wouldn't hesitate in welcoming Michelle back at our property.

This house is absolutely stunning.

It’s comfortable and the lay out is great for large families too.

Owners made contact as and when they said they would and stayed in contact when needed.

Overall, was a very very nice and affordable place to stay

A little gem!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a lovely stay at this cottage! Location was absolutely amazing, very close to town and easy to forget about the car and have a good walk around the area.

The sea views were beautiful from the rear of the property!

The cottage, particularly the kitchen, was very well equipped. We had everything we needed and more!

The bedrooms were extremely comfortable, lovely fresh bedding, and lots of storage / hanging space.

There is also a well stocked 'game cupboard', which was fab for our young children.

Caroline & Gwyn, the cottage owners, gave us all the information we needed prior to the trip and kept good contact before and during the stay.

We would definitely recommend a stay here :)

A comfortable and well-equipped house - for those who are fit !

  • 5 of 5

Generally very satisfied. The kitchen and dining room are really nice places to be. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the views from the bedrooms are brilliant.

Only note of caution (which others have mentioned) is that the stairs really are steep and narrow. It makes taking a cup of tea up in the morning into a challenge !

Only issues (which are easy to solve) are (a)the microwave doesn't respond to its controls and (b) the mattress covers have had their day, and are fairly stained.

Having said that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is in a very convenient location, and is warm and comfortable. Recommended.

Owner's Response: Mark and guests were a pleasure to have stay with at our 18th Century property in Scarborough. Our Housekeeper commented on how clean and tidy they were! We change the mattress protectors regularly and will do so again now! The controls of the microwave oven are a bit tricky (as Caroline has pointed out in the past) so we will look to replacing it. Thanks for booking with us Mark.

Comfortable, convenient and quaint.

  • 4 of 5

The Lighthouse Cottage suited we 3, fit septuagenarians very well, in spite of the challenge of the spiral staircase. Once parked we were able to walk to the Stephen Joseph Theatre, the castle, Marine Drive, Peasholm Park, everywhere we wanted to go. On Wednesday we took the bus to Filey and walked the 10 miles back to Scarborough via the Cleveland Way. The Old Town and the cottage were very welcoming and peaceful to weary walkers. We liked the quiet location, tucked under the castle walls, Jean Harker.

A Grand Week Out

  • 5 of 5

Overall the property was absolutely super and well suited to our situation. No doubt our daughters willsend their own impressions. Perhaps the only downside is the lack of a nearby shop for milk and food etc. Unfortunately the nearest shop seemed to be closed most of the time because of a family bereavement!

You are very fortunate to own such a useful and elegant property.
