Myself and a couple of my friends took a last minute break to get away from it all & thats exactly what we got. A lovely quirky house in a unique & very private seting. It has everything you need with amazing features, one being an outdoor bath which was very serene and relaxing especially after a long walk, you can take a late night bath in complete privacy under moonlight which is a compleatly unique experience. The outdoor space was fantastic as you felt you were in your own little haven. Also an added bonus is that you get all the use of the facilities of the fabulous Monart Spa Hotel. We will definitely be returning and coming back to this establishment.

A Very Nice Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a long weekend with friends and enjoyed a blissful break from city life. The surrounding area is beautiful for walks and relaxation was possible on both the veranda & in the Monart spa (we booked into here prior to our stay) We were able to self cater and treat ourselves to a evening in the hotel restaurant - the perfect combination The outside bath was exceptional for unwinding whilst watching the sunset or star gazing & the lodge itself was comfy and cosy, so perfect for all year round. I would definitely recommend a trip to the Lodge.

Not as described; had to leave. Strongly recommend another location.

  • 1 of 5

The photographs on the website do not fully represent the property. For example, there is a mobile home on the other side of the fence and then a large industrial building past that. The property stands isolated in a horse paddock that is surrounded by a locked fence that has an electric line running within it. And you are miles from anywhere. Literally - the property is at least 5 miles down a country road from the closest town with no one around. When we arrived, we were told by the owner's agent that the water was not drinkable. We decided to leave due to the horse paddock and the water quality, among other reasons. We had a very difficult time opening the locked gate to drive away and there was no one nearby for any assistance. I can add more, but will end with saying that while the place promotes its connection to Monart Spa, when we arrived at the spa asking about the rental and what amenities we could enjoy no one knew what we were talking about. The owner was not helpful on arrival and has not been helpful since. We left within 30 minutes of arrival and he continues to argue about the payment. Overall, disappointing and frustrating experience. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This is one of the most disappointing and frustrating experience I have had with a rental. Avoid.

Owner's Response: Steve, Firstly sorry you were disappointed with our property but we whole heartily stand behind our property and its description on this site. I would also like to point out that apart from your review we have only received the highest of reviews from our other guests on this site along with all reviews on booking.com and elsewhere being 10/10 and 5*. Out of courtesy I will respond to your points. 1. The Industrial buildings as you call them are in fact a state of the art stable yard & indoor riding arena. The property is not surrounded by a locked fence. The property is surrounded by well maintained wooden post and rail fencing (stud rail in your country). This can also be clearly seen in our photographs on this site. 2. being miles away from any where, we are in fact two and a half miles from Enniscorthy Town not 5 as you state this can be easily checked on google maps. Most people in Ireland don't live with in 5 miles of a Town. 3. No one around, you are 200 yards from Monart Destination Spa where the grounds staff also maintain this property. Also you booked a property which states its situated on 100 acres of farm land.! 4. The water we have in our house is from the exact same source as that of the Monart Spa the same water they serve to all their guests. In fact the water has been tested and been found to be of extremely good quality and very good for you. All this information was available for you to read in the house!! 5. the locked gate is an electric gate which can be easily opened by inputing the code which you were give three times. The gate is there for security and privacy! 6. You were given very clear instructions to go direct to the house where our representative was waiting for you. You also had his mobile phone number if you needed it. You chose to ignore these instructions and instead went into Monart Spa. We clearly state on this site that this property is not owned or operated by Monart Spa. You in fact turned up and proceeded to be rude and argumentative with the reception staff at a property where you were not even staying. With regards our connection with Monart Spa the facilities are available to our guests to use on a book and pay basis as it is stated on this site. Most of our guests have enjoyed their facilities whilst staying at the lodge. 7. You turned up at our house which clearly states it only has two double beds with two fully grown male adult children who either would not nor could not share one of the beds.

A la fois au calme de la campagne et proche de la ville !

  • 5 of 5

A very nice place to stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely time when we stayed here last month for 2 weeks. The cabin is on a unique place at a sort of riding school. If you like horses its the best place to be. We had everything we needed and even more, because the owner was very helpfull and serviceminded. He deserves a medal for his helpfullnes. Towels are provided bij the Monart house and the cleaning is done also by them. The wifi is very good and stable.

The surroundings are beautifull and we had nice walks every day. Enniscourthy is worth a visit, Dublin is within a good traveldistance and the Wicklow Mountains not far away. We went to several beaches for a long walk, there are a few around witch are not busy and touristic.

We had planned for hunting a house, but sadly it was sold, so we will be back in this area.
