Guestbook comments from the owner

lovely little cottage with own garden and access to gorgeous main garden. Great space for exploring Dorset or wanting to meditate with friends. The only additional thing that would be nice to have in the bathrooms is a shower hose for a quick wash - apart from that can t fault it - magical space - many thanks will return on Tripadvisor 4 STARS!

Lovely little cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a really nice stay here, we stayed with our three children and the cottage was lovely. Has it's own little garden but is set in the tranquil grounds of a larger estate. The pool was great - a highlight for the kids. I was a bit worried from reading other reviews about phone reception, but I had a good 4G service with O2, my husband with Vodafone had service in just some parts of the house, must be the thick walls! Lovely tidy cottage, only thing was the sofa bed wasn't massively comfy but fine for small children. We had dinner at the local pub a short walk away, nice dinner well priced. In summary a really nice little cottage for a short break, the owners are lovely and took good care of us - recommended!

Excellent well-equipped cottage in great location

  • 5 of 5

Owl Cottage exceeded all expectations! With front and back gardens (already filled with flowers); a large comfortable living room; well-appointed, thoughtfully stocked and newly updated kitchen; two pretty bedrooms with wonderfully soporific single beds and plenty of storage space; and a good bathroom, there was nothing more we needed. The stairs are narrow and steep, so may not suit everyone; although a gate has been fitted at their foot for children and pets.

The swimming pool and gardens in the neighbouring Centre are a fabulous added bonus. As are the amazingly helpful and kind residents at the Centre, who looked after all our queries and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Particular thanks to Rosanne and Hananda!

Owl Cottage is situated off a quiet lane in a peaceful village surrounded by rolling green countryside and within easy reach of pretty Sherborne, spiritual Glastonbury, tranquil Wells, and the stunning Cadbury Castle and Cheddar Gorge. We discovered that the village itself has an excellent pub with friendly staff and delicious food, only a few minutes walk from the cottage, and a convenience store.

I look forward to returning for another holiday and have recommended it to friends.

Owl cottage is a very comfortable and welcoming place to stay, great location and friendly hosts.

  • 5 of 5

We chose owl cottage for its close proximity to Bath, Glastonbury and Wells. Our party was made up of 2 adults and 2 children, the cottage was a good size with comfortable seating and a table and chairs in the lounge, The kitchen was fully equipped to prepare meals. Bedrooms were comfortable and warm. Will definitely be returning.

Quaint cosy cottage

  • 3 of 5

The cottage is small and cosy and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. It is good value for money but would be enhanced with the provision of a few extras such as a microwave and a shower attachment for the bath taps.

Owner's Response: We thank our guests for their observations. We are looking into making changes with the bathroom as the current taps/bath will not take a shower attachment. There is a shower available at the pool if needed.

Lovely little cottage in beautiful grounds.

  • 5 of 5

The Cottage is lovely, it is very quaint. We stayed with 3 adults and 2 children and there was just enough room. I wouldn't stay here with 6 adults as personally I think it would get a bit cramped. We loved the small outside spaces we could just leave the doors open and let the children roam freely which they loved. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom only with no shower, this was not a problem for us. No TV channels, but who really cares about that on holiday! We also had home made cake on arrival which is a lovely touch.

The grounds were stunning and well kept, the swimming pool was great and we really enjoyed that. I would personally lower the charge to £2.50 or most definitely do a child rate. However you do get the entire facility to yourself which is a nice touch.

Would I stay again, most definitely. We had a lovely time and will be returning again in the near future.
