Guestbook comments from the owner

lovely little cottage with own garden and access to gorgeous main garden. Great space for exploring Dorset or wanting to meditate with friends. The only additional thing that would be nice to have in the bathrooms is a shower hose for a quick wash - apart from that can t fault it - magical space - many thanks will return on Tripadvisor 4 STARS!

Perfect in every way

  • 5 of 5

Owl Cottage is the perfect base to explore the glorious countryside that is Somerset. It is also close to the borders of Dorset and Devon. The Cottage itself is full of old world charm but comes equipped with all the necessaries e.g. Good shower, comfortable beds, even quite a luxurious outside toilet in addition to the one upstairs. It can sleep six which offers excellent value for money.

We chose self catering but experienced delicious home cooked meals on our first day. Fresh and tasty, some of it home grown, delivered on a tray to us.

The Cottage has its own little garden, but we were welcome to explore the beautifully kept grounds of the centre. The family are always available to help but remain unobtrusive the rest of the time.

We left feeling truly rested. Would thoroughly recommend a stay !

Comfortable well furnished cottage.

  • 5 of 5

It had everything you need for a self catering holiday, plus added extras like tea and coffee. Also most of the local people were friendly. I would recommend it if you like walking in the countryside like myself. Excellent place to chill out!

Lovely little cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a really nice stay here, we stayed with our three children and the cottage was lovely. Has it's own little garden but is set in the tranquil grounds of a larger estate. The pool was great - a highlight for the kids. I was a bit worried from reading other reviews about phone reception, but I had a good 4G service with O2, my husband with Vodafone had service in just some parts of the house, must be the thick walls! Lovely tidy cottage, only thing was the sofa bed wasn't massively comfy but fine for small children. We had dinner at the local pub a short walk away, nice dinner well priced. In summary a really nice little cottage for a short break, the owners are lovely and took good care of us - recommended!

Excellent well-equipped cottage in great location

  • 5 of 5

Owl Cottage exceeded all expectations! With front and back gardens (already filled with flowers); a large comfortable living room; well-appointed, thoughtfully stocked and newly updated kitchen; two pretty bedrooms with wonderfully soporific single beds and plenty of storage space; and a good bathroom, there was nothing more we needed. The stairs are narrow and steep, so may not suit everyone; although a gate has been fitted at their foot for children and pets.

The swimming pool and gardens in the neighbouring Centre are a fabulous added bonus. As are the amazingly helpful and kind residents at the Centre, who looked after all our queries and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Particular thanks to Rosanne and Hananda!

Owl Cottage is situated off a quiet lane in a peaceful village surrounded by rolling green countryside and within easy reach of pretty Sherborne, spiritual Glastonbury, tranquil Wells, and the stunning Cadbury Castle and Cheddar Gorge. We discovered that the village itself has an excellent pub with friendly staff and delicious food, only a few minutes walk from the cottage, and a convenience store.

I look forward to returning for another holiday and have recommended it to friends.
