The cottage is fitted out with disabled facilities including hand rails, a ramp to the front door and a wet room style shower in the bathroom. Outside there is a gravelled parking area for two cars and a large garden with flower beds, trees and areas of lawn. The cottage is set well apart from the main property, affording a great deal of privacy.

Location: The Granary is perfectly situated for a rural self-catering holiday. An ideal location to explore some of the main tourist sites of Southern England, set in the heart of the relaxing Hampshire countryside within the Test Valley.

The Test Valley is known for its fishing & walking, the River Test & the Test Way are both nearby. For keen gardeners, visit the world famous collection of trees & shrubs at Hilliers Arboretum, or the collection of old roses at Mottisfont - both are close by. Within 4 miles/7 klms is Romsey with its Abbey, King Johns House & Broadlands (Ancestral home of the Mountbattens).

The Granary is North West of Romsey, there are local farm shops and small grocery shops close by.

The Granary is about one mile from the nearest bus stop (with very infrequent service) & approximately 2.5 miles/4 klms from Dunbridge & 4 miles/6 klms from Romsey train stations, so a car is essential.

Peaceful location

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time at the cottage. The cottage is clean and equipped to a high standard. Lovely gardens in a peaceful location.

There is just one thing that could have made our stay perfect. We couldn't connect onto the WiFi no matter what variations of the password we used. We didn't mention this because we were only staying for a few nights.

Perfect. Clean, cosy , quiet and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We were warmly welcomed by the owners of the cottage who live just next door. They went out of their way to be helpful.

The cottage is off the beaten track and has a wonderful garden with three different seating areas. It is quiet and tranquil. one evening a deer visited while we were having dinner.

The cottage is very well equipped . The walk in shower is perfect for any one with mobility issues and the large bed is one of the most comfortable that I have ever slept in. Curtains and blinds keep out the early morning sunshine.

There is no dishwasher but as the cottage is for two , the washing up is not a problem.

We would not hesitate to recommend the cottage and would stay again if in the area.

A wonderful place to stay in lovely countryside

  • 5 of 5

Very friendly and helpful owners next door. A lovely large, private garden where we ate our meals. Cascading scented roses on the pergola. Very comfortable cottage with a well-fitted kitchen. Everything was maintained in tip-top order.

Stunningly Beautiful and Relaxing Place

  • 5 of 5

From the warm and friendly greeting from the owner, Patricia, through to the sad goodbye on our departure, we thoroughly enjoyed every inch our stay at the Granary. Patricia has thought of everything to ensure your stay is comfortable, relaxing and that all amenities are readily available. It is the little things that makes the stay so enjoyable, from the guest bathrobes to the fully equipped kitchen. The garden was superb and immaculately maintained, offering a quiet and restful space that in summer must truly be a joy.

I would not hesitate to visit again, and again, and again!

Having your own transport is a must as there is so much to see and do. Southampton, the New Forest and Romsey town and market are all within easy reach.

Thank you Patricia and David. We look forward to visiting again.
