A lovely house

The house was lovely and well equipped, there was a beautiful garden too for the children to run around. Walking from the house was lovely, but you did have to drive several miles to get to the nearest shop, pub or beach, especially as we had young children with us who couldn't walk that far. The house isnt really suitable for those with mobility issues as the stone spiral staircase looks great but was tricky to use and really needs a handrail or at least a rope banister.

Family holiday

This was a holiday cancelled from two years ago. The house is amazing plenty of room for all eight of us no one got under each other’s feet. The living room was cosy on a n evening especially when to fire was lit. It is in the middle of nowhere but it would not put us off staying again It was so lovely and clean when we arrived and everything was there that we needed. We found the secret toilet two days in. Can’t recommend this property highly enough we didn’t want to leave.

Brilliant week away

Huge property with enough space for us all to spread out to do our own thing in the evenings. Clean and well equipped. Mind your head if you are over 6ft (which was three of our group). Internet is restricted to around the sitting room due to the thick walls, but was more than adequate for our needs. I would definitely come back another time.

Stunning house and garden running stream next to the patio. Kind of isolated due to the very long lane but worth it. Lovely retreat!

About the host

Born in Shropshire the owner has a large family and equally large collection of animals. They bought Pitt Farm some years ago and have enjoyed the challenge of restoring the house and its grounds to the highest standard whilst preserving its historic features. As a family we enjoy a number of outdoor pursuits, all of which are readily available locally.

Why they chose this property

The Lywoods have been visiting West Somerset for many years and Pitt Farm presented the opportunity to have a unique house, close to the sea and yet with all the obvious advantages of being in the Exmoor National Park.

What makes this property unique

Pitt Farm has stunning views of the Moor and an exceptional garden with two fresh water pools and a small brook running past the sun terrace. It is within easy reach of historic Porlock Weir and a wealth of other beauty spots.
