Beautifully presented, this well-equipped home near Notting Hill is located on a quiet, tree-lined street a short walk to excellent transport links. Piccadilly Circus is just 20 minutes away, and there are some excellent pubs, restaurants and convenience stores close by. Including a number of famous historical pubs overlooking the river.

I was born in this area of London. There are great schools around here, and all the amenities you need for a great family life. There is a wonderful sense of community here and many of us have been living around here for many many years. The good thing about this area is that because the BBC is nearby, Disney and Coca Cola for example have their headquarters here, there are many interesting and creative people in this neighbourhood with all the theatres, pubs, comedy and music venues to keep you entertained. Also a diverse range of restaurants. Shepherds Bush food market, and Westfield shopping centre - said to be the largest in Europe - is just 10 minutes walk away. Most importantly the transport links into the centre of town and out of town are amazing - you can be at the Houses of Parliament in 20 minutes.

Excellent house; great location; top notch support

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and would definitely return. There were 7 of us and we were very comfortable in this beautifully appointed home, in a quiet and safe neighborhood. It's a short walk to the Hammersmith tube station, which not only provides excellent public transportation access but also has an array of really good places to eat. And the Goldhawk tube station is even closer.

The description and pictures of the home were entirely accurate and there were no surprises upon arrival. If anything, the home exceeded our expectations. The property management team was first rate and I can't emphasize enough how impressed we were with their professionalism during our stay. They are very experienced and totally know what they are doing, which makes for a much smoother experience.

Being a short/easy walk to the tube and bus stations is a huge advantage. There is terrific public transportation in the London area so be sure you are familiar with the Oyster card, the various tube lines and the bus lines. (Tip: when figuring out what bus route you want to take, be sure to find out the letter designation for the bus stop you want. It will make your travels a lot easier).

A perfect place for a group of four to eight who want to be in a great neighborhood

The neighborhood has its own vibe, very safe and friendly, with excellent wine bar, gastropub, grocery store, and more within a five minute walk. It's also convenient to three tube stops, with the furthest being a 10-15 minute walk, depending upon your pace. We did some laundry, cooked several meals, and had a couple of guests over, all with ease. The only downside is being an additional 10 minutes of tube ride to the attractions, but that was more than offset by the offerings of the local neighborhood. Go have a pint at The Dove!

Excellent home for holiday in London

This home was a great place to stay for our family during a six night London holiday. Everyone had their own space when we were home, a well equipped kitchen for breakfasts and snacks, a beautiful patio to enjoy the sun. It's in a quiet neighborhood that is a short walk from 3 different Tube stations. Lots of dining options nearby, markets are close (both large and small shops).

The owner was a pleasure to deal with, was very helpful on arrival and departure, giving us great ideas for local pubs and markets as well as transportation.

We will definitely look to stay again on our next trip to London!

A beautiful home in an ideal location

Our family of 5 stayed here for 2 weeks. This was our first trip to London and we couldn't have been happier with this lovely home. We were welcomed upon our arrival, oriented to the home, and our questions were readily answered. The house was neat,clean, & had everything we needed-including a washer/dryer.

Our 3 teenagers were thrilled to have their own space on separate floors. The master bedroom was spacious and the over-sized soaking tub was wonderful after several long days of sight seeing. The living room had plenty of space to sit and relax. The kitchen was spacious, had everything we needed, and the dining room was perfect for entertaining when our guests from Europe joined us for dinner at the house.

The neighborhood was beautiful and mostly always quiet, which was surprising for being in London. There are 2 Underground stations within a short walk (we preferred taking the Hammersmith one since the Goldhawk Road one is in an area we didn't want to be walking around late at night). We felt 100% safe around our neighborhood and never had any problems at all. There is a wonderful restaurant/wine bar (The Brackenbury Wine Rooms) right around the corner. It was a great place to enjoy a glass of wine and a few appetizers. The large Tesco grocery store, and a few other shops are very close as well.

We went sight seeing every day and found most of our destinations were only a short trip on the Underground away.

We did have to all use the full shower on the upper floor since the Master had only the large soaking tub- but that was minor and we would definitely stay there again!

Beautiful, comfortable, well-appointed home with convenient Tube connections!

We were two families of 8 persons, needing 4 rooms and looking for big enough common space and dining, being here over Christmas. This home fit the bill! Fully modernized but tastefully historical, too, in a great neighborhood. Our children thought, "Like the Paddington movie!" Most all our destination points were on one of the subway lines and Hammersmith had all the convenient cafes, shops, you'd need for groceries, eating out, etc.

Lovely home, nice street and excellent location

Excellent location and nice street. The home was lovely and well maintained and very clean. We especially loved the big airy kitchen with great natural light. The only negative point was the narrow/steep/uneven/high steps, eg. lounge to kitchen, staircases, shower enclosure, which might not be elderly friendly, young people would have no issue with it otherwise. Would be nice to have firmer beds, one of us who has back problem could not sleep on the bed, but the rest of us had no issue with beds. Overall, we absolutely enjoyed our stay and agreed that we would book with Elizabeth Lytton again.

Pretty Residential Area Minutes From Central London and The River Thames

Brackenbury village is a quiet residential area with a good community feel, yet carefully selected for its fantastic transport links, beautiful homes and gardens, and for the wide range of quality amenities nearby.

Only 18 minutes by double decker bus to Kensington. The area has attracted Disney and Coca Cola to set up their headquarters here.

A neighbourhood full of pretty Victorian architecture and gardens with some of the best schools in London, you can enjoy a quiet and family oriented atmosphere.

The area is bordered by food markets, great shopping, two fringe theatres – the Lyric and the Bush, as well as music and comedy venues – the Hammersmith Apollo and O2 Shepherd’s Bush.

If you want some peace amid the buzz of London or a place for the children to let off steam take a walk to Ravenscourt Park, or take a Boris bike ride to the river Thames just 15 minutes away where you can enjoy a friendly drink in one of the many traditional English pubs overlooking the pretty views of the river.

There is a direct link from Heathrow Airport on the tube, and 5 different tube lines within 5-10 minutes walk of the house that will take you all over London.

Tube stations:

Goldhawk Road (around 5 minutes walk) is on the Circle and Hammersmith and City Lines.

Ravenscourt Park (around 10 minutes walk) is on the District Line.

Hammersmith (around 10 minutes walk) is on the District, Piccadilly, Hammersmith and City Lines.

Shepherds Bush (around 15 minutes walk) on the Central Line.

It's only 25 minutes door to door to Piccadilly Circus.

Airport Transfers

Before arrival, Elizabeth Lytton will send you the website link of a local taxi company, for you to book your airport pickup. They will send a driver to meet you at the Arrivals gate and bring you to your destination, where you will personally met on arrival.

Local Shopping

There are many grocery shops within 5 minutes walk of the area. There is a 7/11 store open until late on Dalling road. The nearest supermarkets are Marks and Spencer and Sainsburys on King Street about 10 minutes walk away. The Patisserie Sainte Anne on King Street provides a wonderful haven for home cooked treats and delicious coffee. Shepherd’s Bush fruit and vegetable market is 10 minutes walk. A further 5 minutes walk you’ll reach Westfield, one of the largest shopping malls in Europe, with every shop from Prada and Louis Vuitton to Kath Kidson and Desigual, as well as a cinema, restaurants and coffee bars with tastes from all parts of the globe. A very useful place to have on your doorstep.

Places to visit nearby

Apart from all the usual central London places to go you’ll find in your guidebook, there are many beautiful places to visit nearby. Kew Gardens are stunning botanical gardens set in beautiful parkland. Chiswick House a Palladium style home and pretty grounds can be arrived at by bicycle in only 20 minutes or so.

By the River Thames

Take a walk or bicycle ride down to the River Thames just 15 minutes away. Enjoy the Victorian, Regency and Georgian architecture and the wonderful traditional English pubs where you can taste a huge range of English beers.

The Dove – Overlooking the Thames with a rich history and charming interior which houses the smallest bar room in Britain. Former customers include everyone from King Charles II to Ernest Hemingway.

The Old Ship – Just a bit further up the Thames is a fantastic spot for award winning al fresco dining. You can enjoy a traditional Sunday roast lunch or a delicious ale battered fresh haddock overlooking the river.

Local Eating-out

The Andover Arms is one of the area’s hidden gems, this delightful traditional pub is a great find. Tucked away in Brackenbury Village, the pub fosters a wonderfully relaxing and family friendly atmosphere – with fine ale and home-cooked food served by friendly staff every day.

The Anglesea, The Butcher’s Hook and the The Dartmouth Castle pubs also in Brackenbury Village are great watering holes with pretty outdoor terraces. All within short walks of eachother.

The Brackenbury restaurant and Indian Zing will not disappoint. And for a breakfast or tea try the Parisian bakery and café, Patisserie Sainte Anne, for a couture collection of beautifully presented patisserie and breads made on the premises.
