Leggyfoot is a modern and spacious property with an excellent and well equipped kitchen, and light open-plan living space featuring two sets of large folding doors to encourage a true al fresco experience.

This stunning house is perfectly situated for lovely countryside walks and access to the historic town of Fowey via the nearby Bodinnick ferry, Here also you will find the famous Old Ferry Inn where you can enjoy a drink from the elevated terrace with its panoramic views to the sea over the tidal reaches of the Fowey estuary and towards Fowey itself. As you cross the river on the ferry, you will have a fine view of Ferryside, the family home of Daphne Du Maurier.

Another feature of Bodinnick is the well known Hall Walk, which takes in the Fowey estuary, the scenic Pont Pill, and the quaint fishing village of Polruan.

Just 1.5 miles north of Leggyfoot can be found the peaceful and charming waterside village of Lerryn where the friendly Ship Inn will be found just beside the well stocked village shop/post office. Lerryn offers a choice of enchanting walks.

The bustling fishing ports of Looe and Polperro are about half an hour by car, with the superb south west coastal foot path and many fine beaches close by. You are sure to run out of time and energy before enjoying all the attractions of this fabulous area and yet you may still decide to venture a little further west to, for examples, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, or the Eden Project, to name but two .

At Leggyfoot there are acres to romp or roam in, in the large field and woodland stretching southwards from the house, down to the tidal waters of Penpoll Creek, where you are free to launch your kayak, swim, or even catch fish, at high tide - though these activities must be at your own risk. There are numerous boating and fishing facilities in the area, information on which can be found in the folder you will find on arrival. The large lawn area immediately in front of the house is perfect for games - oh, and, optimistically, the healthy exhaustion of the young!

The parking areas to the north, west and east of the property are particularly open and convenient for unloading/loading.

The spacious lounge has television, DVD player, and CD player; the kitchen a large range cooker, drinks' 'fridge, domestic 'fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, and the focal point of a large central island which mirrors the enormous refectory-style dining table in the adjacent dining area. Heating is by thermostatically controlled underfloor circuits, which will be pre-set to maintain a comfortable living temperature whatever the season. The three generous double bedrooms each have en-suite shower or shower/bathroom, the fourth bedroom containing twin beds with the main bath/shower room adjacent.

What you will surely most remember about Leggyfoot is its sun-swamped timber deck where you can dine in the open air whilst enjoying intriguing and beautiful rural views.

I do not think there is a better holiday property for 8 people offering quite the same mixture of comfort, convenience, and inspiring and ever-changing surroundings.

What makes this house unique

The peaceful rural location with several interesting walks right from the house, and stunning and ever-changing rural views across the wooded valley to the historic field layouts beyond. Much of the walking is over public rights of way through fields so wellies or walking boots are recommended.

Amazing!!!!

The house we stayed in - Leggyfoot - was nothing short of fabulous! Great location - so peaceful and stunning scenery; lovely local villages and towns to explore; the house itself was just perfect! Enough room for our two families to have a great time. Kids loved playing in the big garden and the grown ups loved chatting and chilling the night away on the lovely deck overlooking the beautiful scenery! The house itself was really well and thoughtfully stocked with everything you need. We would love to come back and I have already recommended it to friends. Thank you!

Very smart property, really well equipped, great location,

Just returned from an Easter week holiday with my family from Leggyfoot, the weather could have been kinder however from the moment Chris and Annie greeted us on our arrival we all had a fabulous week, the house is a really good size we had a party of seven and never felt on top of each other,cold bottle of wine ,eggs,bread, tea,coffee, milk, flowers on arrival was a lovely touch,beds all lovely and comfortable,all good quality linen and towels, the kitchen had everything and more than you need really home from home which was great for us as cooked in a lot, onto the setting,wow wow wow, fabulous we seen rabbits,deer’s an owl in the garden/field almost every day, it’s so peaceful with so much room around you,yet your only a few miles from Fowey, Polperro, Lostwithiel and more, great location, you must go to the Ship Inn at Lerryn the food is great and Johnny the landlord is a real character,friendly locals as well in the the most picturesque village you could imagine.

All in all we had a lovely time at leggyfoot and would highly recommend it, thank you Chris and Annie for the memories my grandchildren will never forget.

Nice house, good location

Nice house in a good location. Was a bit cob-webby in places and a bin had been left unemptied from previous visitors, hence four stars. Couldn't find an airing rack, which would have been useful for us as we had a few very wet days.

Wonderful days in Leggyfoot !

We spent wonderful days ! The house is very lovingly and appropriately furnished and we felt very comfortable.Annie greeted us very nicely and we were surprised at the arrival with a bouquet at the table. We can only highly recommend the house.

Leggyfoot is a nucleus for walking in beautiful countryside, including the south west coastal footpath, wellies or walking boots recommended. Lerryn, just 5 minutes away by car, has a historic stone bridge and stepping stones over the River Lerryn and, best of all, gorgeous and extensive riverside walks. There are also an excellent pub and village shop/post office. Fowey, just 10 minutes away by car via the Bodinnick Ferry, is recognised as one of the UK's 10 top destinations, having amazing river and sea views, many fine buildings, a variety of pubs and restaurants, and all the hustle and bustle of one of the south coast's finest sailing harbours where leisure and commercial vessels form an intriguing mix. There are several options for hiring boats, kayaks, or tourist cruises, so you can really get into the action!!

The famous fishing ports of Polperro and Looe, on the south coast about half an hour by car, have a vast range of beaches nearby, restaurants, pubs, and many other leisure activities for all ages.
