About the property

The Olde Granary is situated in the quiet and peaceful county of Suffolk, set within the heart of a small family owned arable farm, it offers beautiful views of the Stour Valley countryside, traditional farm buildings and an old windmill. The former granary conversion has a wealth of character with exposed beams, vaulted ceilings and solid oak joinery features. The property has everything to make a restful stay with a balcony double bedroom, modern shower room, spacious reception room/dining area and oak framed conservatory lounge, with TV and DVD player. The kitchen is well equipped with a fan oven, hob, grill, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge freezer and washing machine. There is a large garden and patio area for enjoying the quiet countryside settings, with the added benefit of ample off-road parking.

From this peaceful location you can enjoy many local footpaths with picturesque views. The market town of Clare is approximately 1 mile away and with its fascinating history offers plenty of attractions such as period architecture, 13th century Augustinian Priory, Country Park, the stone keep ruins of Clare Castle and Ancient House Museum. Clare is well served with a small supermarket, cashpoint, tearoom, deli, local shops, pubs and eateries, golf course and fishing lakes.

From this idyllic location you can reach many local historic villages, such as Long Melford and Lavenham. The Market town of Sudbury is only 10 miles away. The towns of Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Cambridge and Colchester are within an hours drive and the beautiful coastline of Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex are just over an hour away. Transport links are good; the nearest train station is Sudbury and closest Airport is London Stansted, which is just under 1 hour away.

Wonderful holiday

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic week staying in The Olde Granary this month. The cottage is a real home from home, Very comfortable and brilliantly equipped with everything you could need. Clare is a pretty village and well sited for visits to surrounding towns and villages to explore. Plenty of good dining venues close at hand. A really beautiful area of Suffolk.

It was lovely to meet the owners - Roger and Anna who made us most welcome. A holiday we will very much treasure. Alan and Carol, Sheffield

  • 5 of 5

The Old Granary is charming, clean, beautiful views and fitted out with everything you need for a relaxing break.

Roger and Anna popped over to say hello and see if we needed anything, lovely friendly people.

The scones, jam, cream and milk was a nice touch, even bought some jam before we left.

We had a lovely four days and will be recomemding to friends and returning in the future

Thank you

Set in idyllic location. More than well equipped. Decorated & cleaned to a high standard.

  • 5 of 5

Met Roger & Anna Dennis upon arrival. Very welcoming experience. Scones, jam & cream were left as warm touch for our arrival. Tea, coffee & milk were supplied which were totally over and above what was expected. Clean bedding & towels were also supplied. A short walk will take you into pretty village of Clare, lovely eateries, supermarket, quaint shops and a large antique centre. The Olde Granary makes a central location to travel to so many interesting places within Suffolk and also to venture into Norfolk & Essex. We have family in the area so now we have found this gem we will definitely return & will look forward to it. Debbie & Ade Grimsby N.E. Lincs
