Located on the edge of the village of Glemsford in the heart of the beautiful Suffolk countryside made famous by painters such as Constable and Gainsborough, The Wash House is a comfortable, detached and quiet property perfect for a couple looking for a country getaway. All on one level, this romantic retreat comprises of an open-plan kitchen and living room, with a good size double bedroom and spacious contemporary bathroom with double shower.

Glemsford offers 3 pubs, convenience stores, fish and chip shop and Chinese takeaway. The village of Long Melford (made famous by the TV series Lovejoy) with its 2 stately homes, antique centres, pubs, independent shops and restaurants is only 3 miles away. A short drive will also take you to the famous village of Lavenham, known for its quirky buildings and winding cobbled streets. There is also plenty to do slightly further afield including the market town of Bury St Edmunds with its Abbey and gardens, twice weekly markets, host of shops and cinema complex. Colchester is the oldest recorded town in the UK which provides plenty of history and culture to discover along with its zoo. Shop 1/2 mile, pub ½ mile and restaurant 3 miles.

Great accommodation tucked away

Lovely accommodation set back from road behind locked wooden gates with its own courtyard. Recently renovated and immaculately clean.

Comfortable bed and lovely powerful warm shower.

Village has dog friendly pubs and lovely walks.

If you want to escape and relax, this is a great choice.

The cottage was very well equipped, clean and was well situated for touring Suffolk
