ideal cottage for two

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to enjoy a part of the country that was not well known to us. Hope Cottage is very well appointed and sits in a network of narrow roads leading to villages, each with a more or less ancient, and nearly always interesting, church. The lanes are ideal for cycling, since in a small area many different circular routes can be found. Excellent pub meals can be found within a 15 minute drive, although, sadly, the pub in the village closed its doors the day after our arrival. It is hoped that this closure is not permanent. We had only a short time to enjoy the cottage and the area, but we hope to return and explore further.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your great review of Hope Cottage. Delighted you enjoyed your stay and thanks also for your informative comments about the surrounding area. Yes sadly the local pub has closed for now but in the information pack at the cottage you will find alternative pubs that we have found within a short distance that we would recommend and are dog friendly should you need it. We look forward to seeing you again.

A little gem

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a mini break and found the cottage to be clean, well-equipped and very comfortable. There was lots of information explaining how everything works which was very helpful, and maps and information regarding the surrounding area. The conservatory is a real bonus too. We were very lucky with the weather and were able to sit outdoors late at night in the private garden star-gazing as there is very little light pollution. The area is quiet and there are some lovely walks nearby, as well as villages, towns and the coast which are easily accessible. We would highly recommend it and will definitely be back!

Lovely Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cottage - very clean and tidy, comfortable, well equipped, home-from-home. Situation in a quiet location and just a short walk to the local pub, Erpingham Arms. Highly recommend.

Hope Cottage, Erpingham

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cottage, beautifully furnished very clean and in a lovely quiet village. We found it very amenable to various locations, the owners had put together a book of local places to visit all of which were a short drive away, they had listed walks, events places to eat, and gave travel details as well as providing maps of the area. We took our 2 dogs and found everywhere very dog friendly especially Cromer. We only went for a long weekend and would definitely return and visit other locations closeby. We would highly recommend this cottage. Linda Matthews, Sawtry, Cambridgeshire

Perfect cottage.

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic village location and two doors from the pub. The cottage itself was absolutely charming, perfectly clean and if you needed anything all you had to do was open a drawer or a cupboard and it was like being at home, everything was there. The location was perfect for Wells and Sheringham and other villages. Apart from one day the weather was perfect which made it for us.We both would have no hesitation booking this cottage again should we be back in the near future. Thank you David you have a fantastic little cottage.

Peaceful Norfolk Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Hope Cottage is located in a pretty quiet Norfolk village, but with a really great pub close enough to walk to. The cottage itself has been finished to a high standard, with comfortable furniture - a real plus once you get to a certain age !

The kitchen is well appointed, although we only used the kettle and microwave during our stay. The bathroom is certainly big enough and modern, but the bath did seem to have very high sides. Whilst I'm over 6 ft tall, even I had to use the step that was provided in order to get into the bath for a shower - which only seemed to have 2 settings; hot and hotter !

Overall we had a really relaxing break at a great price - a whole cottage for the price of a room at a budget hotel, and in a far more convenient location to explore north Norfolk.
