Wonderful

What a wonderful location and apartment. Monterosso was definitely the best of the five villages for children, with a great beach with beautiful water (lacking in the other villages). The weather was very hot (which we liked) and the apartment was beautifully clean and had everything we needed. It’s up 120 steps but we saw this as a fitness exercise to walk off the ice cream. And to be honest was not difficult. Prices in Monterosso are a bit higher than elsewhere in Italy but given the wonderful unique location this was to be expected and probably lower than Positano, Ravello etc which is probably the only other equivalent place i can think of. The best thing about the holiday was the proximity of the apartment to everything. Very close to train station, straight down the steps to the beach, restaurants, shops etc while at the same time it was quiet and private location to stay. Highly recommend it. 7 great days.

A beautiful base to experience the Cinque Terre.

Delightful, light and airy apartment with well equipped kitchen and wrap around balcony and stunning views across bay. The owners were very friendly and helpful and assisted with carrying our cases. Monterosso is perfect as a base for travelling around the area. The apartment is in close proximity of the station and so easy to get around. Boats are another option if you dont want to hike between the towns. I would recommend you walk at least from Monterosso to Vernazza. It is quite arduous if you are not a hiker but well worth it for the experience and views. Get a boat back 😊 We had a fabulous time in the whole area. We spent 2 days in Genoa, 1 night in Riomaggiore, 1 week at this fabulous apartment and two nights by the beach in Savona. Loved them all. Great holiday! X

amazing views

We had a fantastic stay in this apartment. Yes, there are a significant number of steps to reach the apartment, but it was all definitely worth it! The views are amazing, and the apartment is beautifully fitted and comfortable. We were welcomed by Margherita with some beautiful home made lemonade which made the start of our stay in the Cinque Terre very special. We loved this apartment and we loved the Cinque Terre. We would highly recommend the apartment and the location.

Beautiful apartment!

We absolutely loved this apartment! The location and views couldn't have been better. It was lovely to wake up to the sound of waves on the beach and relax on the balcony. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We would stay here again in a heart beat, and would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent apartment with fabulous sea views

We stayed in this lovely apartment overlooking the sea in Monterosso for three nights in May 2014. The apartment was spotlessly clean and has everything you need for a short stay, including free wifi. It has one double bedroom with a sea view balcony, and one twin bedroom. Both rooms had comfortable beds. The lounge has a corner sofa and dining table, with balcony overlooking the sea. The kitchen is well equipped, and there is a washing machine. The owner Margherita was very helpful, she met us outside the apartment when we arrived and even helped with our luggage. Location is perfect being on Via Fegina, only moments away from some great eateries. For breakfast try Il Fornaio de Monterosso for delicious sweet and savoury pastries, fabulous focaccia and pizza - turn left as you exit the apartment steps, it's at the end of the road; for dinner I liked La Cantina di Miky (again turn left as you exit the apartment steps) and Il Piccolo Diavolo in the old town. Only slight negatives are that the apartment is at the top of a flight of 120 stairs - not unusual in Cinque Terre though! - and the rumble of the trains arriving and departing Monterosso can sometimes be heard. Neither of these spoiled our enjoyment of this excellent value apartment which I highly recommend.
