Beautiful villa, heated pool, in the vineyards, 10 mins from Gulf of St Tropez

Overview

Property

Updated: 07-Dec-2016
4 bedrooms, sleeps 8, 3 bathrooms, heated pool, beautiful garden

This beautiful villa has been completely refurbished in keeping with the traditional style of the area. It has stone floors and sinks, wooden beams and oodles of charm. The accommodation consists of a reception room with dining area decorated in the Provencal style with wood burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen, 4 bedrooms + 3 bathrooms. There is also a 8m x 4m heated pool with alarm, leading off the kitchen + dining area. There is a covered terrace with large family barbecue and ample seating for outdoor dining.

The property is set in 1000 M2 of fully enclosed mature garden. The villa has its own gates and private parking for three cars. (Shared drive with electronic gates.)

Local Activities: The beautiful Provençal village of Plan de la Tour is surrounded by vineyards and Mediterranean woodland including oaks, pines, olives, mimosa and chestnut trees. This traditional French village is one of the few remaining jewels of unspoiled Provence with its old lanes, terracotta roofs and ancient bell tower. Despite its timeless charm, it still has all the amenities one could wish for. There are several small grocery stores, a Tourist Office, a pharmacy, tabac, one bar and a host of marvellous restaurants to satisfy every palate. There are even two working vineyards on the edge of the village for those who want to try the local wines. On Thursday mornings the village hosts its regional Market Fair. Other local village markets include St-Tropez, Port Grimaud, Grimaud, Cogolin, and La Garde Freinet. These markets sell locally produced foods, clothing and handicrafts. Boules and tennis can be played in the village and there is also a children’s playground.

Neighbouring town + activities: Ste Maxime is a stone’s throw away – 15 minutes by car down leafy lanes which meander through the vineyards. From here, ferries run every 20/30 mins to St Tropez/Cannes. Stroll through the famous Provençal markets, view the magnificent yachts or simply watch the world go by. The nearest beaches are in Ste Maxime, which boasts 6km of beaches plus many more stretching from St Tropez all the way to Nice! The choice is yours! There are plenty of activities available such as, diving, sailing, golf (two 18 hole courses), cycling, hiking, fishing, riding, mountain biking, and even a casino. There is also the famous Aqualand water park, an absolute ‘must’ for the kids. The nearest hypermarket, is located on the outskirts of Ste Maxime. Boutiques and designer shops can be found in Ste Maxime, Port Grimaud and St Tropez.

This owner has another 4 bedroomed property, with heated pool in the same lane.

Very spacious and private villa

  • 5 of 5

We drove from Peterborough, UK. and were very tired on arrival where Pip met us at the gate after giving us very comprehensive directions to find the villa. (Sat Nav won't find it from the address on the contract).

Pip showed us everything we needed to know and left us to settle in. Pip and Henk live next to the villa and whilst we knew they were available if we needed anything (which was nice) left us to enjoy our break.

Our stay was for one week and we were a family of six; 2 adults 2 children (13 and 9) plus 2 pensioners, although the villa would comfortably accommodate 8. Very nice that the whole property is on one level for my Mum and Dad - 2 or 3 easy steps up to the pool - that's all.

The layout for the bedrooms was ideal 2 en-suites for the 2 lots of adults and a bathroom for the kids. All 3 showers were brilliant!

Plenty of space in the villa with a large Kitchen diner leading to a large lounge area. We spent most of our time in the gardens by the ample BBQ area and around the pool, and what a pool!!. My youngest learnt to swim, good temperature and very welcome on a hot day. Very private and not overlooked in all areas of the garden and pool. We enjoyed a very restful and relaxing break.

We visited Frejus (very nice), Sainte Maxime and Sainte Tropez, all of which were lovely and easy to get to from the villa (with a car)

Pip and Henk do a wonderful job in letting you know they are around if needed, which is very comforting, but allowed us to do our own thing.

Really only one down side and that was the after our week was up we had to come home. Man.... we miss that pool!!! We'll be back though - that's for sure.

Thank you Pip and Henk.

Half - term May Bank holiday

  • 5 of 5

Thanks to Pip and Henk for a wonderful holiday. Everyone loved it from the kids to the grandparents. Beautiful villa with everything you would expect as well as a gorgeous 'warm' pool. Beautiful countryside all around with everything you need in Pont de la Tour. I would highly recommend this villa to everybody - from individual couples looking for a romantic holiday to families. Thanks to our hosts and auntie Sheila for their great hospitality and very good recommendations. We all hope to be back soon.

Une bonne pause au calme

  • 4 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Vielen Dank,

Rundum ein wunderschöner Urlaub!

Vielen Dank an die netten Vermieter

Liebe Grüße
