Enjoy you' re in paradise

A lovely stay in Barbados. House is set in very charming garden. Just in front of the pool.

The place is peaceful and welcoming for a family with 2 kids. 5 minutes walk of a wonderful beach where you can find turtle and tropical fish. Snorkeling tour stopped there frequently.

House itself is well equiped and Andrew arrange a welcoming care package to start the stay without worrying for grocery shopping.

Fabulous family villa close to the Lone Star

Owners Direct came up trumps at fairly short notice with availability at No.5 Porters Court in St. James, for the February half term. February in the uk is by far the worst month to be at home, so we were delighted to be flying out to our favourite island, and even more so when we arrived at Porters Court. We had paid at time of booking, for someone to be waiting at the airport to take us to the villa, and were very happy with the driver, and that we didn't have to catch the bus or a local taxi, as it was a fair way.

The villa was in a small gated area with only 8 properties and a fair sized communal pool, mainly for cooling off rather than swimming. The villa itself was everything & more promised in the photos and description - it was spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean, had lots of storage, and one of the best equipped kitchens I'd been in. We knew the area quite well and had decided not to rent a car and use the public buses instead, but when we got there it was even more ideally placed than we had thought, - bus stops just outside on the road, and the beach only a short walk away, so we were able to leave the kids securely at the villa whilst we nipped into the Lone Star for a sundowner.

Andrew the owner was extremely helpful in planning our stay at his property, and responded quickly to all our questions. We were able to pre book a grocery delivery to be there on our arrival, which again we were pleased we had done, and saved us a shopping trip!

If you didn't want to sit around the pool area with other guests, there was a covered verandah with large table and enough chairs to chill out without disturbance, not that there was any. Sandra the property manager was at the end of the phone if we needed anything else, and Veronica the lovely cleaner popped in a couple of times to make it spick and span again.

Overall this villa deserves its 5 stars and we'd love to come back sometime soon.. . . . . . . .

Canadians in Paradise

We stayed for a week at #5 porters gate and couldn't have asked for better accommodation. The villa had everything you would need for a comfortable stay, the kitchen was well equipped, the beds super comfortable, and the sitting area perfect for four. We spent most of our time on the veranda overlooking the pool which always had a lovely breeze. Of the units in this community only two ( including#5) had a pool view. Loved it! Access to the beach, buses to hometown and Speightown, and restaurants was right out the back gate. If we ever get the opportunity to return to Barbados we would book this unit again in a heartbeat! Thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us.

Vacation at 5 Porters

This vacation villa is located in a private community of 8 villas all nicely arranged to ensure privacy. The villa was well maintained and provided a good vacation location for 4 adults on the west coast. Although not on the beach, it was not too far to walk to one of the most beautiful beaches on Barbados...Paynes Bay. Crossing the road requires caution as the buses are noted for their speedy driving. The villa comes with excellent housekeeping and assistance from an on-island representative. Our requests were dealt with promptly and with satisfaction. Overall a great location for a holiday in Barbados.

Luxury villa!

When on holiday I expect great customer service from the booking to the end of my holiday. The attention to detail during the initial booking service was second to none - from welcome pack requirements to whether a car was required. It was excellent, with any questions answered and nothing left to chance. All was catered for just like a holiday should be!

We spent 14 glorious days in Barbados (our second visit in as many years) at this beautiful and well equipped villa. The location is perfect. On the west coast within walking distance of Hole Town and a 2 minute walk of glorious beaches at Alleyne Bay with little and unique beach bars.

The villa is part of a small gated complex of 8 properties. This property is maintained to a high standard in all aspects. The gardens have been thoughtfully landscaped with its individual covered car port.

As you walk into the villa you immediately get that sense of ‘home from home’ feel. The furnishings and décor are of a high standard. The villa was spotless all down to the hard work of the house keeper – Veronica and not forgetting the owners Denise and Andrew!

The lounge and kitchen / dining area were very well equipped with what you would expect to find in a “top end” villa including ceilings fans and air conditioning. The lounge had quality soft furnishings with TV, radio and internet access. The two bedrooms were very comfortable with ceiling fans and individual air conditioning. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, shower and toilet. All the rooms had high ceilings to keep the rooms cool during the hottest of days.

The veranda which overlooks the pool was well equipped with a BBQ and dining table and chairs. Here one can relax and enjoy the ambience of this great island and holiday property.

The pool is of a good size and the decking area has ample sunbeds and shade for relaxing.

The local area is very easy to get around either on foot, car or local buses which are well worth the experience. The amazing restaurants such as Lonestar, Tides and The Cliff are all very close by. The Cliff has to be seen to be believed, a night of perfection! Not forgetting Sandy Lane and Apes hill golf clubs, and Scarlet’s who create a great Mojito.

Everything about the villa was perfect. It was exactly as described, if not better! Overall, a great island, a great location and a fantastic villa. Well worth a visit and we cannot wait to return.

  • Although Porters Court is relatively flat there are a limited number of pavements on the roads in the surrounding area. A car would be recommended for those wishing to explore the island or those with limited mobility. A good local bus service and taxi's are available very close by. Maid service is provided Mondays and Thursdays including day of arrival and departure. The villa is privately owned but has a full time local property manager for additional assistance.
