About the property

2 Bedrooms with en-suites, can sleep up to 5, 5 mins walk to beach

Located one mile north of Holetown, opposite the Royal Pavilion Hotel, on the popular West Coast and close to glorious beaches (200m) and within easy reach of a wide selection of shops, bars and fine restaurants. Five Porters Court is a luxury 2 bedroom with en-suite bathroom villa with private parking, private veranda, spacious open plan living area and well equipped fitted kitchen. The charming villa is built in traditional chattel house design with high pickled pine ceilings and is air conditioned throughout. The living area has two sets of French doors opening onto a wrap around veranda (with BBQ) for outside dining and relaxing.

Porters Court is an exclusive secluded gated development of 8 luxury villas with a communal swimming pool and patio area with sun loungers and umbrellas. The villas are set within well-maintained tropical gardens.

The villa comes with membership of the exclusive Fairmont Royal Pavilion Beach Club, a five minute walk from the property. This gives guests free access to sun beds and umbrellas, and use of the beach bar and water sports facilities at your own expense. The famous Lonestar restaurant is also about a 5 minute walk as are two great beach bars.

Our housekeeper will visit two full days per week and our property manager can arrange a grocery delivery for you on arrival so you can relax immediately and enjoy your holiday. We can also arrange a taxi to collect you from the airport if required and organise car hire.

About Mrs Tracy Palmer

We recently realised our dream of owning our own property in Barbados. We live in the UK and aim to spend as much time as we can in our home away from home in paradise. We hope to share it with you!

Mrs Tracy Palmer purchased this villa in 2017

Why Mrs Tracy Palmer chose St. James

We fell in love with Porters Court because of the charm of the villa which is built in the traditional chattel house style with wooden floors and high pickled wood ceilings. We also enjoy being very close to the Lonestar restaurant and JuJu's beach bar, two of our favourite places for sunset drinks on the beach!

What makes this villa unique

The location is perfect and just across the road from the Fairmont Royal Pavilion where we enjoy the beach Club.

Great villa. Great location

  • 5 of 5

We just spent 9 nights here as 4 adults. The property had been recommended by friends and it was all perfect for us. Set in lovely grounds right next to the pool and minutes from a great beach. We are already planning a return trip. Re the comments from a previous reviewer about the kitchen- we had a professional chef - Dane Sadler- come over and cook for us and he commented how well equipped it was for a rental property and that was certainly our experience. Veronica also looked after us really well and was very apologetic that she couldn't stop the rain on the one day we had some! Thanks Andrew for such a nice place to stay.

Great cul-de-sac of villas

  • 3 of 5

Great little spot across the road from the beach. Villa is a bit tired decor wise and as we were staying for a month quite a few niggles : lighting in villa at night awful, blunt knives in the kitchen , cooking utensils poor. Etc etc . Also advertised as disabled friendly but two small steps up to the villa and no grab rails or seat in shower. Also shower NOT walk in so again, difficult for disabled or elderly . It would not be classified as disabled friendly in the uk.

Staff incredibly helpful - Veronica our maid was a delight. Pool and outside areas are beautifully kept .

The Lonestar restaurant was our local - fabulous for watching the sun go down .

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. I have checked my listing on Homeaway and I have made no reference to the Villa being disabled friendly. We have ticked the box to state the property is accessible by wheelchair as the two steps into the villa are 3-4 inches high and we have wide double doors to access the property. We do not aim or profess to be equipped in the same way as a disabled friendly hotel room. The showers are as pictured in the on line details showing low level baths approximately 12 inches high per our email conversation at the time of your booking.

Enjoy you' re in paradise

  • 5 of 5

A lovely stay in Barbados. House is set in very charming garden. Just in front of the pool.

The place is peaceful and welcoming for a family with 2 kids. 5 minutes walk of a wonderful beach where you can find turtle and tropical fish. Snorkeling tour stopped there frequently.

House itself is well equiped and Andrew arrange a welcoming care package to start the stay without worrying for grocery shopping.

Enjoy and relax

Fabulous family villa close to the Lone Star

  • 5 of 5

Owners Direct came up trumps at fairly short notice with availability at No.5 Porters Court in St. James, for the February half term. February in the uk is by far the worst month to be at home, so we were delighted to be flying out to our favourite island, and even more so when we arrived at Porters Court. We had paid at time of booking, for someone to be waiting at the airport to take us to the villa, and were very happy with the driver, and that we didn't have to catch the bus or a local taxi, as it was a fair way.

The villa was in a small gated area with only 8 properties and a fair sized communal pool, mainly for cooling off rather than swimming. The villa itself was everything & more promised in the photos and description - it was spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean, had lots of storage, and one of the best equipped kitchens I'd been in. We knew the area quite well and had decided not to rent a car and use the public buses instead, but when we got there it was even more ideally placed than we had thought, - bus stops just outside on the road, and the beach only a short walk away, so we were able to leave the kids securely at the villa whilst we nipped into the Lone Star for a sundowner.

Andrew the owner was extremely helpful in planning our stay at his property, and responded quickly to all our questions. We were able to pre book a grocery delivery to be there on our arrival, which again we were pleased we had done, and saved us a shopping trip!

If you didn't want to sit around the pool area with other guests, there was a covered verandah with large table and enough chairs to chill out without disturbance, not that there was any. Sandra the property manager was at the end of the phone if we needed anything else, and Veronica the lovely cleaner popped in a couple of times to make it spick and span again.

Overall this villa deserves its 5 stars and we'd love to come back sometime soon.. . . . . . . .

Canadians in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week at #5 porters gate and couldn't have asked for better accommodation. The villa had everything you would need for a comfortable stay, the kitchen was well equipped, the beds super comfortable, and the sitting area perfect for four. We spent most of our time on the veranda overlooking the pool which always had a lovely breeze. Of the units in this community only two ( including#5) had a pool view. Loved it! Access to the beach, buses to hometown and Speightown, and restaurants was right out the back gate. If we ever get the opportunity to return to Barbados we would book this unit again in a heartbeat! Thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us.

Vacation at 5 Porters

  • 4 of 5

This vacation villa is located in a private community of 8 villas all nicely arranged to ensure privacy. The villa was well maintained and provided a good vacation location for 4 adults on the west coast. Although not on the beach, it was not too far to walk to one of the most beautiful beaches on Barbados...Paynes Bay. Crossing the road requires caution as the buses are noted for their speedy driving. The villa comes with excellent housekeeping and assistance from an on-island representative. Our requests were dealt with promptly and with satisfaction. Overall a great location for a holiday in Barbados.
