Our 140 m² apartment is located on charming Josefstaedterstrasse from where you can see St. Stephen's, a short stroll away from City Hall and Parliament yet cosy and quietly overlooking a green patio with comfortable balcony to relax. It is suitable for up to 6 persons with the following layout: Entrance, WIFI, WC, storage room, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, water boiler etc., very large living/dining room with dining table for 6-8 persons, large flat screen & satellite TV, very cosy balcony newly furnished, three double bedrooms (in two of them beds can be separated) with walk-in dressing rooms, bathroom/WC, washing machine. For kids we have a high chair, books, toys and games.

Spacious, comfortable apartment in great location.

Large apartment with plenty of room for 5 adults. Three good sized double bedrooms and enough seating for us all. Great location for main tourist areas (all within walking distance) and near to underground for trips a bit further afield. Well equpped, warm apartment. Would come again.

Very comfortable well appointed apt.

Beautifully appointed large apt in a great location. After touring around all day, this was a great place to come home to and just relax. We were a group of 5 and this was the perfect size for us.

Enjoyed using the balcony for alfresco dining.

A lovely apartment with a useful little balcony.

We spent 4 nights in Vienna, staying at this apartment. We found it to be perfect for our needs; spacious, comfortable, clean, plentiful hot water, good location. The apartment was close enough to the centre to walk in, and close to an underground station to get the train to Schonnbrun Palace.

We were met at the apartment as previously arranged. Everything worked out according to plan. We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to others.

There are several reasonably priced restaurants nearby (on Josefstaedterstrasse), and a good Spar supermarket just a couple of doors away.

A Film Festival takes place in Vienna each summer from June - early September, which is good for an evenings free entertainment for an hour or two.

Wonderful, spacious apartment close to the Inner Stadt.

My wife & I visited Vienna with our adult daughter, who was planning to spend some time doing her work as a translator from German.

The apartment was excellent. Plenty of room for us all and Kerry found the balcony an excellent place to work. We have never lived in an apartment & expected some noise from neighbours but this was much less than we had expected and was never intrusive.

It was generally very well equipped. Our only criticism was the lack of good reading lights for the very comfortable sitting room and in the main bedroom, but I have found that in many hotels as well; perhaps we spend more time reading than most guests do.

The area was excellent, with a very good tram service only a couple of minutes from the apartment door. I thoroughly recommend the 3-day ticket (about15 Euro) that covers the whole public transport system.

Josephstadt is a very good location and felt really safe day & night. I tried all 3 of the nearby supermarkets and thought all very good. Our only problem was not knowing that our first full day was a Bank Holiday with only the bakers open. Fortunately I was made aware of the small supermarket at the Westbaanhof & we got essentials.

We found & recommend the Rosnovsky Restaurant in Ludwig Sackmauer Platz (behind the Josephstadt Theatre).

This apartment was very clean (my wife failed to find any fault!) and was just as described.

We are hoping to return to this apartment & thank Marian for facilitating our stay.

A spacious and well located apartment

We had a lovely stay in this apartment. It was spacious and easily managed to accommodate our taller than average family. Two huge sofas in the sitting area meant we were all able to relax in comfort in the evening. The apartment was well represented by the photographs on the Owners Direct website and the description was accurate, detailing the apartment well. It was immaculately clean and well stocked with towels, extra pillows etc. There was lots of hanging space for clothes and plenty of coat hangers. Whilst the bathroom was dated it was extremely functional and with the extra toilet meant we were able to manage well with 6 of us in the apartment. The small balcony with its table and seating is a pleasant place to sit when the weather is warm.

We loved the apartment's central location, it was approximately 10 minutes walk to the edge of the tourist area of Vienna and really well connected by tram no 2 into the city, or tram no 5 if you want to get across the city from west to east (or to connect out to the zoo which we would highly recommend as a day trip - the pandas and polar bears are delightful). It is well served by a well stocked Spa supermarket in the same block, and bakeries that are open early in the morning, even on Sunday, for fresh bread etc.

The only downside we experienced was from noise from some other residents in the courtyard that the apartment faces. This was partly exacerbated by the weather being warm whilst we were there (a lovely bonus in early April) which meant we had all the windows open. There was a party on the Saturday night when we arrived, which, whilst it finished at midnight, meant we had a disturbed first evening. Other noise was of people coming and going, babies crying etc and is to be expected in an apartment situated where it is. It would not stop us returning. Occasionally we were able to smell cigarette smoke from other apartments too.

As mentioned by other reviewers we visited the restaurant Ruffinos across the road. Great food, but beware that there is a smoking room within the restaurant and the smoke pervades the non-smoking area. Not great for those of us used to a country with non-smoking restaurants and meant we didn't return.

All our emails to the owner were answered promptly and we were met at the apartment for an easy hand over of the keys.

Josefstaedterstrasse and the 8th district is one of the few that has retained the original Viennese flair. Beautifully located between major historic sights and within walking distance from the city, it offers very good public transport connection, parks, many truly Viennese cafes and famous restaurants. There are supermarkets, mini markets, organic and fresh markets as well as all kinds of sweet little stores on the street.
