Quiet and indipendent studio above the small harbour named “Scalo Galera” and next to village center. Not so far even from the Scario stone beach. There is a panoramic roofed terrace in which is set an open-plan kitchen and from there you can have an open sight: on the right an amazing view of Stromboli island and it’s regular eruptions; on the left, looking to the village and it’s baroque church. Next to the studio is also the National Park “Monti delle Felci e dei Porri” (two inactive volcanos) with intresting chances of guided trekking and climbing trips.

Lovely studio but clarity needed about the view from the terrace.

We found the studio tasteful and the open kitchen area and its terrace charming. Valeria's son who greeted us and showed us round speaks very good English and is friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be better with a manageable walk down to the port and the beach for swimming and an easy walk up to the charming town square of Malfa . Access to the excellent bus service is easy from the studio. Salina is beautiful and Malfa is very charming. We had a very relaxing holiday. So why deduct a star? This is because the description on the website states that from the studio's kitchen terrace you get the view out to Stromboli on your right and Malfa church on the left. This view is not from the kitchen terrace which has a more limited view, it is from the front terrace which is shared with the owners' house. Doors from the studio bedroom open onto the front terrace but it should be mentioned in the description on the website that the front terrace is shared with the owner's house. For our week Valeria's son Giovanni had family staying with him. The doors from our bedroom to the front terrace were firmly locked and we were not invited to use the front terrace. Perhaps we should have asserted ourselves, mentioned the website description and used it. But we felt uncomfortable about it and so refrained. As the amazing view was the deciding factor in our booking the studio this was disappointing. We respectfully suggest that clarity is needed on the website description. And who ever welcomes guests should show them how to open the double doors from the bedroom and make it clear that they are welcome to use the front terrace.

The property in Malfa is in a stunning location with breathtaking sea views.

The property is in an amazing location...a 5 to 10 minute walk to the harbour, the beach and the town. There is an efficient bus service from the town to the port and other villages on the island. There is a beautiful garden at the back of the property - which we were lucky to have all to ourselves, as nobody else was staying in the other parts of the building. The property is small but adequate for 2 people. However the housekeeper - our main contact did not speak English and as we do not speak Italian it was extremely difficult to communicate. The property does not provide an information pack - which we have always had in the past when renting other villas through your website. The property is advertised as having Wi-Fi, internet access and a washing machine and it had none of these facilities - if we had known that these things were not provided we probably would not have chosen this accommodation. The kitchen is quite poorly equipped, the fridge doesn't have a freezer section or even an ice box which I would have expected. The linen provided for our 12 night stay was 1 set of bed linen and 1 bath towel each, 1 hand towel and 1 teatowel. We did ask the housekeeper for some extra towels and an iron and she provided these. Overall this is an amazing location to stay in and with a few small improvements, I would highly recommend it.

Regreso a Malfa

Es la segunda vez que pasamos unos días en esta casa maravillosa, perfecta para disfrutarla en pareja. Soñábamos con regresar de nuevo. La perfecta ubicación y gusto por los detalles hacen de la estancia algo especial. Se agradecen nuevos detalles como las cortinas y la renovación de la cocina. Lo único que hemos echado de menos es la mágica vista de Stromboli entre las dos palmeras, tomar un último vino en silencio desde la parte inicial de la terraza principal antes de acostarnos. La vez anterior pudimos acceder (con permiso) mediante una segunda puerta de la estancia que ahora se ha convertido en una ventana con una malla-mosquitera fija (ójala se encuentre alguna solución que permita seguir compartiendo esta maravillosa vista sin perder intimidad en la casa principal). Por supuesto, hemos seguido disfrutando de la bonita y fresca estancia exterior con vistas al mar y al puerto. Muchas gracias Vanni por tu atención a la llegada y por tener todo listo antes de la hora de entrada. Y muchas gracias siempre a Valeria, por haber creado este lugar tan maravilloso.

Nettes kleines Appartement

Gute Lage in Malfa in Nähe des sehr netten Ortskerns und der Spiaggia Punta Scario. Die hübsche Terrasse (mit Außenküche) bietet Blick auf den kleinen Hafen und das Meer. Giovanni, der Vermieter, ist super-engagiert und freundlich... und spricht fließend Deutsch. Uns hat's gefallen!

Bellissima vacanza

Abbiamo passato una settimana a Salina, soggiornando a Malfa, in una zona perfetta per gli spostamenti sull’isola (con bus o motorino). La casa è molto carina e il proprietario gentilissimo e disponibile per ogni problema o informazione. Consigliatissimo!
