Advice on plaves to go and things to do: Myself and my wife are always on hand to advise our guests on places to go and things to do.
For example there is a great local wine cooperative where you can try and buy some great local and inexpensive wines. There is also an amazing local Parmesan factory and cheese shop as well as a great local olive oil cooperative.

The Mulberries is a beautifully restored apartment in a historic old farmhouse surrounded by our farm but also near to the motorway (Valdastico Sud 2 kms) and so easily accesible to all famous northern Italian localities such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Vicenza, Lake Garda, as well as Bassano, Marostica, Asolo, Ferrara and Mantova.
First class accomodation. Loved the pets, trips to the farm to see the animals & 'free range' eggs ! Location ideal even for day trip to Milan & Bologna. Venice easily accessible as was Lake Garda & skiing on Monte Baldo. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here & definitely would like to return, especially around grape picking time. Many thanks for all the great tips on where to go for wine, cheese etc. & for your wonderful hospitality

Excellent base to explore are eg Venice, Verona, Padua, Treviso and Gardaland. Phil and Silvy could not have been more helpful. Bike use great and choice of own pool or that at the farm.
The Mulberries is a beautiful home away from home. It is centered close to Venice, The Dolomites, Garda lake, Verona and Padua and many quaint smaller towns that are easy to get to. The house itself is incredibly comfortable. There were six of us- 2 grandparents, 2 teenagers and my husband and I. The 3 bedrooms were very comfortable. The bunk beds themselves were able to accommodate our 2 almost six feet tall children easily.
We were able to go to their other home about 1/2 a mile way to swim in their inground pool or play in their recreational rooms by walking through their farm. Silvia and Phil were spectacular! They helped us with all the details that made this trip so worth while! Thank you both for a wonderful 2 week vacation.
We had a wonderful time at the Mulberries with the generous, friendly and very helpful hosts Phil and Silvy. It's the perfect base for exploring the Veneto, within an easy drive of Padova, Vicenza, Verona, Venice, Chioggia, Este, Mantova, lake Garda, Bassano and many other great sites. It was quick to get to all places; each town has good car parks to leave the car and explore on foot (including Venice, where the main Autorimessa Comunale had spaces so long as you got there early).
The farm is very beautiful. It is situated at the edge of the Colli Berici: perfect for walking and cycling. Bikes are provided which is fantastic for children and adults alike, whether they want to explore the fields, hills or nearby long cycleway. There is a climb featuring in the Giro; views from the top are exceptional due to the steepness and vegetation, the large plain, and other hills and mountains as backdrop.
The outstanding cultural heritage of the area repays going off the beaten track, whether in Venice or elsewhere, and you can find yourself alone with world class art and architecture, even in high season. We'd strongly recommend Mantova as a day out for art (Palazzo Te and Palazzo Ducale). Verona is more busy and repays staying away from the tour route through the middle of the old town; the route along the river banks is much nicer and you can cut to the main sites from it. For shorter outings, we'd recommend Este and Montagnana. These are smaller towns blessed with medieval walls and castles, as well as beautiful town squares where it is very pleasant to enjoy local ice-creams and drinks. Bassano can get busy and is better mid-week; the Hemingway connection is worth following. In Chioggia, you can combine beach and town, to get a sense of a still active canal crossed fishing port on the Laguna. Padova has many excellent restaurants and the feel of a lively and deeply cultured university town. Do not miss the view of Vicenza from the sanctuary on Monte Berico (left turn as you reach Vicenza). The view gives a great alternative perspective of the Palladian buildings and there are different cafes you can chose from for your coffee, as you pick out the different sites below you.
The farmhouse makes the most comfortable home for a long tour of some of the greatest and most inspiring art and architecture in stunning natural settings. Above all, we'd stress Phil and Silvy's kindness and local knowledge, invaluable in getting the best out of their magnificent region.
Fist of all, this place has everything. All the facilities and pictures you see and read about on the internet, but in real life, it even looks better. It is clean, new and well taken care of. In addition we enjoyed all the facilities in the beautiful palace (Palasso Rosso) like the big pool, football table, pool table etc...
The owners Phil and Silvia showed great hospitality, as they answered every question and gave great tips on possible trips and attractions in North Italy, and they where always willing to help in any way they could.
I recommended this place to all my family and friends, and have the feeling that I will come back in a few years. Its is especially good for families or couples, with or without kids.
Was the property clean, was it well-maintained?
Did the owner or manager provide good customer service?
Would you recommend this property to a friend or relative?
What activities, attractions and restaurants did you like or dislike?
Our family of five stayed at Mulberries in late June 2010. Great time. The house has a kitchen and living room combination on the ground floor. The larger second floor has three bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom and twin bedroom are very spacious and airy. What is particularly appealing about this vacation home is that it is filled with antiques, unique furniture, handcrafted lamps, etc. You feel as though you’re visiting a friend in Italy. It’s very private and quiet. The owners, Phil and Silvy, are incredible hosts. Silvy took her time to show us around their farm and explain their exhaustive restoration of a separate building at their farm. This other building has six vacation apartments as well that are under a separate listing (they have different sizes to accommodate different sized parties) and is fantastic as well. The restoration they painstakingly undertook is impressive: the result is incredible. The apartments are beautiful and completed to a very high standard. The grounds are well maintained with a pool. We visited and recommend Montagnana (on the outskirts is Palladio’s Villa Pisani) and Marostica - old medieval towns that are living towns now and not filled with tourist shops. The area around Vicenza is interesting to explore and find various Palladio and Scamozzi villas. We have recommended Palazzo Rosso to friends who visited it and loved it too. We hope to return!
