Idyllic tranquil retreat.

A beautifully appointed cottage in a quiet area with amazing views of the Chaine de Puy. Perfect for a quiet getaway and wonderful walks. Highly recommended.

Beautiful gite well off the beaten track

We enjoyed our stay at the Vieux Pommier. It is a characterful old building which has been renovated and equipped to the highest standard. The setting is very tranquil and the balcony is ideal for enjoying a long lingering meal on a warm summer's evening. Isabelle could not be more friendly or helpful. As she could not be there the whole time, she even had her friend come by to check everything was alright after an overnight storm. The gite is conveniently located for exploring Vichy and not too far from Clermont-Ferrand and the Puy de Dome. There are plenty of walking options nearby, with stacks of information including walk books and maps. English speakers should be aware that most of the information is in French and it is French TV only, but Isabelle speaks excellent English. Visitors should also be aware that it is fairly lengthy drive (20 minutes) to the main road, but that is the price you pay for such a tranquil location. Highly recommended!

Très agréable séjour dans un superbe environnement !

A peine quelques jours après avoir quitté l’ermitage où le poirier renaît de sa souche et où Isabelle nous a accueilli avec attention ; la nostalgie du calme, de la vue imprenable sur les monts d’Auvergne le jour et les lumières de Clermont Ferrand la nuit... naît déjà dans un recoin de nos souvenirs. Le passage à l’ermitage du vieux poirier est à conseiller pour tous, même les plus jeunes dès leurs premiers pas peuvent y trouver un terrain d’exploration que les grands sauront transformer en randonnées... Merci à Isabelle de faire partager cet environnement si apaisant.
