Ski trip Puy Saint Vincent Jan 2019

This flat is a treasure. Despite arriving late on a Saturday night entry was simple by previous arrangement with the owner who communicates promptly and extends a warm welcome to his property. We are a family of 2 parents and 2 adult offspring. The spaciousness of the flat was perfect. The kitchen is well equipped and 'meals in' a pleasure to prepare. Sleeping arrangements are for 7 bodies but for 4 people, very comfortable. Both showers were ideal to relieve après-ski aches and pains. There is a 100m, flat, easy walk to the piste, where there is a large public car park and a particularly welcoming and hospitable bar/café to enjoy lunch and restorative hot drinks. The Sherpa shop is 100m in the opposite direction along with a ski kit hire shop so everything at hand and convenient. The 6-man chairlift, 'le Pres' feeds into the PSV 1600 system including the new 6-man chairlift to 'Cret' where the snow conditions are often ideal. Having spent 8 previous holidays in PSV 1600, I now realise what a wonderful secret 1400 represents.

A successful and enjoyable stay .

Accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed for our weeks stay. Fabrice who let us into the Chalet was very helpful and loaned us some maps and climbing guides.

Beautiful apartment is convenient but quiet location

This was our 3rd time at this comfortable department located in the quieter but very convenient area of Les Pres in Puy Saint Vincent 1400. There are stunning views of traditional barns and churches over to the Ecrin and Queyras mountain ranges from the front of the apartment. The location has it's own parking although the local car park is just over 100 meters away for overflow parking. Beginner slopes which link into the main ski area are no more than 200m away and its a short 200m slide down to the main super fast chairlift into Puy Saint Vincent 1600. There's a bar tabac 200m one way and a small supermarket 200m the other. 3 ski shops are within easy reach as well as a couple of restaurants, laundry and the free bus service (in season) stops close by. There really is everything you need within easy reach . Outside is a full length balcony with bench to take in the evening sunshine after a day on the slopes or out biking. Plus a convenient locked kit room which will take skis/bikes or whatever outdoor kit you bring. The inside has everything you need for 9 people although we find it such good value we hired it with just 4 of us so we could have loads of room . 2 double rooms and two bathrooms are great if you want a comfortable and quiet holiday for just two couples and there is a third room with single and bunk bed and a double sofa come double bed in the front room so you can sleep 9 if you want. If you don't know Puy Saint Vincent - it's a fabulous resort with the incredible good value Galaxy ski pass covering Puy and giving a day each in Serre Chevalier, Montgenevre, Sestriere, Pelvoux and usually La Grave/Les 2 Alpes and Alp D'Huez. However the last 3 weren't possible this year due to road damage on the other side of the Col de Lauteret. You'll need a car to access these resorts - we've driven over before but this year got an Easyjet flight to Turin and then hired a car for the easy 2 hour drive in to Puy. If you don't mind organising your own holiday - the logistics of getting here are as easy as any main stream Northern Alpine resort but far better value. PSV is as much a summer resort as a winter resort with world class kayaking down in the valley, a number of Tour de France climbs for the road bikers and local MTB trails in the resort. The local climbing and mountaineering is some of the best in the Alps. We've stayed at a number of locations in the valley but I guess you can tell this is our favorite :-)

Appartement très agréable

La location est très proche du jardin des neiges et de l'épicerie du centre du village. Il est très bien équipé pour cuisiner pour 8, confortable. Parfait pour un séjour en famille.
