It must be one of the best views in Paris! A beautiful, historic apartment in a prime location.

We just returned from staying in this beautiful apartment for a week. It was the second week of a family trip to London, then Paris. After staying at a fantastic hotel in London, but in a quite small hotel room, having the space of the apartment was such a luxury. The rooms are large. There is plenty of closet space and storage. The five sets of French doors allow for so much light and air flow, but when closed almost 100% deaden the traffic noise. The kitchen is functional. I found the fridge and microwave to be quite new. The fridge was immaculately clean. We ate breakfast in every day and snacks/light meals, but didn't do any cooking. The washing machine works very well and is not bad to figure out. You Tube it if you have any uncertainty. It was a godsend for our second week of travel and the 30 plus degree temperatures in Paris our first few days. The shower worked well, great water pressure. We never had an issue with hot water. Both toilets worked well. We actually used the large bathtub a few times (to cool off when it was still 30 plus degrees late at night).

Our one negative was that there was no air conditioning. Of course there wasn't and I wouldn't expect it, but unfortunately we had three days of very hot weather. One day maxed out at 34 degrees Celsius. It was bearable, but sleeping was difficult. The apartment was very warm at times, especially if there was no breeze. The owner provided two floor fans which helped!

The WIFI worked very well and was great for our kids when they needed down time. I was very pleased with a small detail, there was a great hair dryer provided in the bathroom.

Now, the apartment itself ... wow! Yes, it is old and I loved it. I would describe it as rustic elegance and it was perfect for us. To update everything might take away from its character. I loved that we were staying in a gorgeous Haussmann building. The plaster ceilings and herringbone hardwood floors are what I think of when I think of a Parisian apartment. This is the same building that one of France's great composers, Maurice Ravel lived in and even he commented on the view. The view is unreal! I took so many beautiful pictures and video. It's a surreal experience to sit on the sofa with a glass of wine and the French doors framing the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. Gorgeous sunsets and beautiful at night. So much closer than they look in pictures! It was an amazing family experience

Location, location, location!!

  • 5 of 5

We spent an incredible time in Paris, and loved staying at this apartment. Other reviews have mentioned that the kitchen and bathroom are outdated and need a renovation. It is true that this apartment is old, but it is exactly as pictured in the photos and it totally met our needs and was extraordinarily comfortable. In fact, the old fashioned charm of the place added to the ambiance. The apartment is extremely spacious and bright, with many extra large windows.

The view is AMAZING!!! We could stay here for years and never tire of the view. The balcony is perfect. Sitting on the balcony and having pain au chocolat and coffee each morning, and fruit, cheese, baguette and wine each night before bed was, literally, a dream come true!

To get to the entrance to the metro, all you have to do is walk out the front door of the building and take 16 steps, and then you can be anywhere in the city in no time. Yes, seriously, 16 steps. I counted. And after being out all day, coming home and taking 16 steps from the metro to the front door was really wonderful.

There are many restaurants, bistros, and brasseries within a few blocks. In about a five minute walk you will find Rue Poncelet, where there are many wonderful shops that we frequented during our stay, including Les Grand Caves for wine, La Fromagerie with an outstanding selection of delicious cheeses, a marvelous fruit stand with incredible peaches and figs and raspberries, La Brûlerie des Ternes where they roast and grind all kinds of aromatic coffee for you, and Leader Price, a medium sized supermarket.

Less than five minutes walk in the other direction is the Champs-Élysées, and at the beginning of the street is Publicis Drugstore, inside of which is the shop of Pierre Hermé. There you will find the most delicious macarons in all of Paris. (Better than Ladurée.)

Jo was extremely responsive and helpful, and the instructions for checking in and getting the keys, etc. were very clear.

And, did I mention the view and the balcony? They're worth mentioning again. They're that spectacular. This location really can't be beat!

Also worth mentioning, being able to do laundry in the apartment meant we could pack less and travel lighter.

We're sad to leave what has felt like our home in Paris, and we look forward to returning again and again!

If you are looking for an authentic Parisian experience, historic building oozing quaint and charm.

The ONE PROBLEM, upon arrival the instructions to get keys and access was poorly conveyed and she seemed unprepared. After a long flight and entering Paris, we could not get into the flat forcing us to stand street side in unfamiliar territory. The views of the Eiffel Tower and arc de triomphe are so mesmerizing. A little tip, open all of the doors and find the freestanding shower, oops. This was a feature we overlooked until our final walk through.

Fabulous

  • 5 of 5

Could not be in a better location. Just check out the view, it is better than that. Out the door and on the Metro to the city of love. The rooms and baths are more than adequate. Master bath is spacious. The common area is large with dinning space and a living room. If you are coming to Paris to cook your own meals the kitchen is adequate but small. We could not have had a better time. Cafes immediately out the door on the right and left, both with excellent food and reasonable wine selections.
