You absolutely cannot beat the location of this place! The view is nothing short of amazing. There is a metro stop, bus stop, and taxi stand right outside the door-- literally. There is a great wine bar and Italian restaurant downstairs and there are a lot of great restaurants and bakeries nearby that aren't your typical tourist haunts.

The apartment itself is pretty old, but it's everything you imagine when you think of Parisian charm. The floors are very, very creaky- you definitely aren't going to be sneaking up on anyone while you're staying here. They must be original. As others have mentioned the kitchen is nothing to write home about. It does have a nice large refrigerator. There is a large dining room table and a good size living area. The bedrooms are large and comfortable with good closet space. The furnishings are eclectic.

My beef with this place? It wasn't very clean. This is the thing I am most picky about. My husband went to use the coffee pot in the kitchen and it was nasty!! There were used bars of soap in the bathrooms. Yuck. And worst of all, the toilet wasn't clean. There was a piece of toilet paper stuck to the side and the seat wasn't clean. Gross, gross, gross!!! I can get over dust and stuff, but the toilet must be clean. The couch was also dirty, but they had a blanket covering it up.

The main bathroom is large and quirky and includes a bathtub. We almost missed the small shower room, thinking it was a closet. It is a tiny shower, but a good one. We didn't have any problems with water temperature after we figured out how to use the faucet. The bath mat could have used a good washing. There is a second toilet in a small room near the kitchen. It looks like a utility room or former closet with a toilet stuck in it. No sink. There was no toilet paper in that bathroom when we got there.

Jo was easy to work with and communicated well with us. Overall, I'd stay here again, mostly because of its location. I can't say enough about the view, the nearby places to eat, and being able to get all over the city so easily. This place could be even better though!

great view but not much else

  • 2 of 5

As someone who has lived in Europe I understand the facilities will be different than in the US. With that in mind this flat has a fantastic view once you walk into the door. Really can't get much better. After that it falls down pretty hard. Specifically the bathrooms and kitchen. The kitchen is really not a working kitchen. The appliances are probably circa 1960's and I am not even sure if they work. The bathrooms are also in need of an update and somewhat hard to use as well as the lighting hanging so low that you would bump into it. There is also a broken window in the bathroom that is covered with cardboard and tape. Didn't really help since it was 30 degrees outside.

Anyway, this place could be really fantastic but it is in need of an update.

Owner's Response: Thank you Joe, the window was just broken before your arrival, it takes few days to order the glass, it has been repaired. The kitchen and the bathroom are shown on pictures. Hope to welcome you again soon.

You are not going to believe your eyes!

Choosing a flat in Paris is not an easy task as there are many options available and each seem to have their own advantages. We spent much time debating the good and not so good aspects of each of our potential choices. After much discussion we decided on this flat because it was on the 5th floor (the one with the continuous balcony) of a historic Haussmann apartment building. Yes, it has a great lift. Of course, there was the location, steps from the Place Charles de Gaulle and a brief walk to the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. When you step out of the Avenue Carnot Metro exit, you are home. There are multiple levels of security to make you feel safe.

Other reviewers focused on the view and for good reason, it is amazing. To wake up each morning to the sounds of the city and have the Arc de Triomphe seem like an arm's length away, to have the lights of the Eiffel Tower brush past your window as you sip from your wine glass each evening, is reason enough to stay here. In fact, it may be reason enough to visit Paris. Sure, the kitchen is a bit small, but is has more than what you are going to need. Supplies are close by, cafes, bistros and pastries are easy to find. The beds are comfortable, the bedrooms nicely arranged and there is room to move about without feeling crowded.

Jo was very friendly and helpful and interested to make your stay comfortable. We would stay here again and, in fact, we could easily live in this flat.

Fell in love in Paris

  • 4 of 5

Our family fell head over heels in love with this apartment. The view was perfection, it had a subway station in front of the building, taxi stands across the street and another a block away, and it was spacious. The beds and pillows and comforters were also outstanding. There is a drawer of guides in the LR, cable TV, wifi, a large bath plus a water closet and a shower room, and a small kitchen. As another reviewer wrote the floors are wooden and older so best to wear slippers or shoes when walking around. The shower room's cold water did not work in the small sink or in the shower so we "showered" using the hand held shower head in the large bathtub, and while an inconvenience, it didn't really detract from the overall positive experience, but I did deduct one point for that. I would love to stay here again in the future and hope to soon.

Absolutely the perfect location..... The flat is spacious professionals decorated

  • 5 of 5

This large open flat offers floor to ceiling French style windows in the dining room, living room, and both bedrooms along with a wrought iron railing for the balcony. Very quiet when these new windows are closed for sleeping, The location is to die for! The view of the Arc De Trompe is so close you can see such details. Plenty of room for two couples. Priced ought you cannot go wrong staying here. Everything That was said in the directions for key .

Great Location and Stunning view

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at Jo's place in early July for 4 nights. The apartment is in a great location with access to the metro and great restaurants in the neighborhood. There is a great Italian restaurant just outside the front door. The apartment is very spacious and has an old feel to it. The view from every room was amazing. It is a quiet area but you are not far away from the av. des Champs- Elysees with a lot of action and great shops. If you like to keep the windows open, you will here the traffic at the Arc.

Jo was very responsive and made the process to get into the apartment very easy as well as when you are leaving.

Also, the location is great if you are needing to head the airport as the bus stops are right outside the apartment about a half a block or so.

We would recommend this to any of our friends that would be traveling to Paris.
