Overview

About the property

Spacious 3-bed 2-bath apartment with rural outlook and superb communications

Combining rural tranquility with easy access to London and major transport links, Ottershaw Park is a unique and sought-after location in leafy Surrey. The apartment was completely refurbished in 2010. It offers comfortable and well-appointed accommodation with all the rooms having large, double-glazed windows that look out over parkland and trees. It is the ideal environment to relax and unwind whilst also being the perfect base for exploring or commuting. Walking around the Park and gardens is a pleasure in itself, but there are also many walks in the surrounding area and the village of Ottershaw is just a 10-minute walk through the woods.

Ottershaw Park occupies 110 acres and is surrounded by farmlands (cows will often graze close to the boundaries of the park) and the ancient woods of Ottershaw Chase. The park and its Mansion were established in 1761 and have been through many changes. During the Second World War the woods were used to hide military vehicles being prepared for the D-Day landings, and between 1948 and 1981 it operated as a school. The apartment is on the top floor of what originally formed the dormitories for the school.

The accommodation includes: Large open-plan lounge/dining room; spacious and well-equipped kitchen; master bedroom with en-suite shower room; second double bedroom; third single bedroom; family bathroom; office. Gas central heating keeps the whole apartment cosy and welcoming.

Longer-term (up to 12 months) considered.

About Roy Sheridan

We are an Anglo-French couple with a foot in both camps. My wife Josette is french and recently retired after 26 years of loyal service with British Airways, most of it with the Concorde Customer Service Team. My name is Roy and I'm an 'Internet entrepreneur'. As I work from home we are lucky enough to be able to move between France and England, enjoying the best of both. We both love peace and the beauty of nature, as well as music and movies. Tulk House is normally our home but we shall be living in France for some time we have decided to let the apartment while we are away.

Roy Sheridan purchased this apartment in 2010

Why Roy Sheridan chose Ottershaw

We fell in love with Tulk House the first time we saw it! It's a lovely building and Ottershaw Park is just delightful. Living here is like being in the middle of the countryside and yet the M25, Heathrow and fast trains to London are just short drives away. If you enjoy nature and walking there can be few better places.

The flat was 'unloved' when we bought it so we took the opportunity to renovate it completely, taking out walls to open it up, installing a new kitchen and upgrading all the fixtures and appliances.

It's a lovely place to relax and entertain and the perfect base for exploring or commuting.

What makes this apartment unique

The Park itself is a delightful setting and is surrounded by unspoilt nature - woods and fields that can be explored at leisure. Every window in the apartment looks out on fields or trees so it's a very calming place to be! And it has some fine restaurants and pubs nearby, with great shopping facilities too.

Fantastic apartment.

  • 5 of 5

Tulk House is a fantastic apartment. My colleagues spent 4 weeks at the property while working in Ascot. This is not a soulless apartment. It's a home and the owners couldn't have been more hospitable and accommodating to our needs. Would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone.
