About the property

The Vineyard is a double fronted cottage that sleeps 5 with 2 car parking spaces

The Vineyard was our home for several years and it is a delight to share this beautiful village and cottage with you during your holiday. The Vineyard is a traditional, double fronted cottage with beamed ceilings, a cosy log burner and amazing sea views from the lovely window seats.

On the ground floor is a comfortable lounge, a dining room, conservatory and modern kitchen, with a range cooker, ceramic sink, integrated dishwasher and views onto the adjoining fields. There is a small utility off the kitchen with a WC and a washing machine.

On the first floor are two double bedrooms with views to Cudden Point, a single bedroom and a new bathroom with a bath with shower over, WC and round countertop basin.

Families with small children are most welcome; high chair, stair gates, travel cot and children's crockery and cutlery is all available on request at time of booking. There will be a collection of children's books, toys and DVDs in the cottage for you all to enjoy.

All linen and bath towels are provided. Although please bring beach towels as you will certainly not be able to resist the short wander down to Perranuthnoe beach, either wrapped up warm with your wellies on for a walk in the winter, or with your bucket, spade and swim things to enjoy a sunny day on this beautiful beach, which is a particular favourite with locals!

The well known and much celebrated Victoria Inn is less than 2 minutes walk from the cottage, perfect for delicious, locally sourced meals, local beers and a happy atmosphere.

Lynfield Farm Craft Centre, once Lynfield Yard, where Gramps milked his herd of Jerseys and Guernseys, is now a hub for unique local businesses. We have a few galleries/studios for local artists, 'Linen and Clay' is definitely worth popping into for beautiful gifts and wares, The Peppercorn Kitchen Cafe, now run by Nicki and Babs has a friendly, family atmosphere, especially when you can enjoy the scrumptious food, including (in my opinion) Cornwall's best ice cream from Roskilly's Farm, sat outside in the sunshine.

With quick access onto the A30 and A394 just at the top of the lane visiting any of the attractions Cornwall has to offer is easy. The Minack Theatre and the wild walks of West Cornwall are less than 30 minutes away. The stunning St. Michael's Mount, just off Marazion is less than 10 minutes by car. St. Ives can be easily accessed during the summer by taking the park and ride train from Lelant Saltings, so avoiding the parking chaos and also to enjoy one of Britain's most picturesque train rides. The Tate Gallery, Barbara Hepworth Museum, harbour and lovely shops can all be found in St. Ives. The popular waterside town of Falmouth, with The National Maritime Museum (perfect for a wet day), shops and a vast range of boats is a 40 minute drive.

Surely, however, the best thing about a holiday in Perranuthnoe is that you can arrive happily at The Vineyard, park your car easily in your own spaces and not leave this special village for several days; a wonderful beach, unspoilt countryside, breath-taking coastal walks and some of Cornwall's best food - just perfect!

About Emma and Jonathan Green

Jonathan and I have lived in Perranuthnoe since 2008, having grown up here in Cornwall we enjoy everything it has to offer; fantastic scenery, walks and amazing local produce and food. Our 2 children are loving growing up here, the beach is only a stones throw away, there is space and so much to do nearby. We hope you enjoy it here as much as we do!

Why Emma and Jonathan Green chose Perranuthnoe

The Vineyard has been part of Jonathan's family for many years and was where he came to stay in school holidays. We lived there from 2008 until nearly 12 months ago, it was a perfect home for us as our family grew.

Grandpa and Gran ran Lynfield Farm, milking the herd of Jerseys and Guernseys in the yard. The yard is now a thriving spot for local businesses of all kinds, the fields are still farmed mostly by family. We live next door to the cottage, so close by for suggestions of things to do nearby and for any problems. We do, however want you to enjoy your space during your stay and to feel at home.

What makes this house unique

The Vineyard has been renovated, with new central heating and a snug log burner in the lounge. The sunny kitchen has a beautiful range cooker and the conservatory and outdoor space have truly breathtaking views.

Perranuthnoe is a very special Cornish village which, although it has plenty of traditional cottages, a fantastic beach and some of the best food in the area, still has a strong sense of community spirit. Many families have enjoyed holidays here at Lynfield Farm for generations; whether at the campsite and B&B Gran and Grandpa used to run or in the Coastview Chalet, which was taken down in 2014. We hope many more families will enjoy holidays staying in The Vineyard, playing on the beach, walking to Marazion and exploring the galleries, Church, pub, cafes and shops in Perranuthnoe.

A wonderful family stay with incredible hikes and views

  • 5 of 5

My family of two adults and a baby stayed the Vineyard for 5 nights and by the end, were very sad to leave. Emma was incredibly responsive to questions, provided a lovely welcome package of jam, bread and milk, and left plenty of wood for the wood stove. Upon arrival, we found the baby cot and high chair already set up and more towels than we needed for the whole week. The house was exceptionally clean and the carpets looked to be either brand new or recently washed. The kitchen, bathrooms and heating all seem to be brand new and in excellent condition. Really, it was just a pleasure to come back to the house each night after our adventures. There are coastal hikes just a few mins away on foot, two cafes, and a church. The nearest shop is a few mins away by car. Our favorite memories are of watching the sunrise from the bedroom windows. Both double bedrooms have ocean views and face east. The one single bedroom is very cozy and wide enough to fit a single bed and a baby cot. We travel frequently and have seen a wide variety of accommodations, this one is by far one of our favorites. Thank you Emma for sharing your home with us.

Something to note for those unfamiliar with the area: the town is at the very south end of Cornwall, a 1 hr drive from Newquay. It seemed that many of the attractions were around the Newquay area. For us, the hiking and the remote location were a bonus. If there are older kids that need more entertainment/trips though, I suspect it may be easier on the parents to stay somewhere closer to the middle of Cornwall.

Nette Urlaubsunterkunft, allerdings mit einigen Mängeln

  • 3 of 5

Owner's Response: Hello Margita, I'm sorry that the cottage didn't stand up to your expectations. Unfortunately we did try twice to change the bulbs after you informed us they weren't working, but you were out. The Vineyard is a period property as described, hence some low ceilings and narrow doorways. Parking is a difficulty in Perranuthnoe during the summer and although the drive is narrow, as described, we use it for access to our house for our two family cars everyday. The parking space inside I'm sure you found to be ample but I'm sorry this caused a problem. Thank you for your stay and your review. Emma and Jonathan

It was a great stay. The house was very cousy and the sea view beautiful. Jonathan and Emma the landlords were very helpfull.

The area has plenty of locations to visit and great spots for day trips. We would definitely recommend the place, if you are looking for a quiet place with a great view near the sea.
