About Alexander

I bought this property as I own my own wine company and as this house had a history as a winemaker's manor, nestled between the vineyards, and with original features remaining in the property - I felt it had huge character and personal interest. It is also the perfect location to Escape from a busy working life to the south of France to enjoy the fabulously diverse region of the Languedoc Roussillon, both in terms of it's wine and beautiful scenery.

Alexander purchased this house in 2010

Why Alexander chose Puissalicon

As soon as I saw I wanted to restore the property to its former glory, and I am really pleased with the result - I hope you feel I have done it justice on your visit.

What makes this house unique

The property boasts a huge upstairs terrace that overlooking the 11th century castle and surrounding countryside. The view back to the mountains, with rolling hills and cyprus trees in the foreground, is spectacular at sundown. The private pool is the centre piece of the well tended gardens, enjoyed by all the family and our guests. Inside the living space is huge, with 15 foot high ceilings and a large kitchen that rolls into the dining area and on to the living room. There is also a beautiful hand carved bespoke oak staircase that acts as a centrepiece in the living room. The whole downstairs has been restored using traditional terracotta tiles that give an authentic South of France feel and look, wonderfully cooling in the heat of the day.

Love this house! Great pool and garden. Great long weekend spent here escaping England for some Easter sunshine. My favourite part was enjoying a glass of rose on the balcony as the sun went down each evening - bliss! Have recommended to friends and family, and I will be definitely be going back!!!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your review and I hope the house matched (or exceeded!) your expectations. I'm glad you got good weather - it can be lovely at that time of year. If there's anything further we can do to make the house even more enjoyable, I'd love to hear any further feedback. Otherwise, would be delighted to welcome you back before too long. Many thanks again and best wishes. Alexander.
