Absolutely perfect holiday home for relaxing, and exploring the beautiful Cotswolds

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Shed 66 for the most wonderful holiday! The lodge is beautiful, spotlessly clean, modern, light and spacious. Waking up to the gorgeous view of the lake and feeding the swans their breakfast just set the tone for everyday in South Cerney paradise.

We stayed at the lodge with our two toddlers and found this an ideal location for a family holiday. The large deck was fully enclosed and allowed even more space for playing and relaxing. There is a lovely play area on the lake and an easy walk to the village for convenice shops and pubs.

As this was our first trip to the Cotswolds we really appreciated all the information Kevin provided. Everything has been thought of to make this an easy, and super luxury family stay. Stairgates, hughchairs and cots all kindly provided.

We will definitely be back in the future when the kids are old enough to enjoy the fun water sports on the lake!

A little oasis

  • 5 of 5

Our New Year's Eve stay at Lodge 66 was perfect. Kevin was on hand when we arrived to give us a whistle stop tour of his beautiful holiday home, running through everything from how to light the lovely log burner to how to switch on the shower. He'd also left a welcome pack which was a very nice touch. Lodge 66 was spotlessly clean and we couldn't fault a single detail. We travelled with our four year old daughter and stayed with friends who have a girl the same age, and a one year old son. Before arriving, I had some reservations that the house might have been a little small, but I needn't have worried - the clever design and layout of Kevin's place meant that we had plenty of room. All in all, a great experience and we are looking forward to returning in the summer to make full use of the great decking and the BBQ! Highly recommended.

Lovely, cosy lodge with great views!

  • 5 of 5

Great house to use as a base for exploring the area or just to sit, relax and look at the beautiful view of the lake.

The property has everything you could need and has a lovely cosy feeling.

Good communication from owners and the welcome basket was a really nice touch!

Perfect place to spend some time with the family over the Christmas period.

Thank you Kevin & Mandy for making our stay at Shed 66 so enjoyable :o)

Great property, clean, good location and high standard!

  • 5 of 5

Kevin met us at the property when we arrived which was really nice. We stayed for 3 nights with our kids (5&2) and we really enjoyed our time there. Kids loved feeding the ducks and swans and it felt like being abroad! Good location in terms of being near the main village to pick up essentials food etc. Everything else we could have needed was provided. We would look to book again!

Excellent home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Would truly recommend staying at "the shed" when visiting the Cotwolds with family or friends.

Kevin and Mandy are excellent hosts: we were celebrating my mothers 70th birthday and were welcomed with lovely gifts. They had also fitted gates to the stairs and provided cot and high chair for my little son. Also there are maps and tips for easy walks in the area.

The house is newly renovated and in tip top condition and spotlessly clean. There are a friendly swan couple residing at the lake who have cygnets which come by the house.

It is located two minutes walk from a waterfront pub and other eateries on an easy walking distance. The location is perfect for exploring the area by car.

Only drawback from our perspective: on sunny days expect a lot of boat traffic on the lake because there is a water skiing school there and they are operating from dawn until dusk. On the other hand the activities are quite entertaining to watch from the sun deck while preparing your evening BBQ.

We simply felt very welcome at the shed and had a really good stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review, it was wonderful to meet you and your family. Pleased to hear you had a great holiday. We hope to see you back soon, perhaps for Margareta's 71st? PS (the water skiing isn't so busy in the Autumn & Spring)! K&Mx
