BEAUTIFUL MODERN APARTMENT IN THE TOWN CENTRE! This authentic Austrian residential, ground floor apartment has all modern facilities, finished with a traditional Austrian style. Situated in the main town of Zell Am See, this quiet, small block of 7 apartments provides the perfect base for your summer or winter holiday.

The apartment is divided into 2 double, spacious bedrooms, has 2 separate bathrooms and a large open plan, "loft style" main living area, with sofa bed, plus a spacious balcony, all comfortably furnished. There is cable TV and wifi included.

There is also a secure garage offering underground parking on site and secure storage for ski equipment & bikes. Step free access from street level and to the lift from the garage.

The apartment is located just a few minutes walk from the lake, right by the summer -heated, outdoor, lakeside pool ( lido) , the minigolf and playpark. Directly across the road is the luxurious indoor pool and modern ice rink complex as well as a petrol station with integral convenience store. As you can see from the map it is just minutes walk to the historic town centre with its traditional buildings and all its facilities and shops.

Situated in Zell am See, this apartment is 300 metres from City Xpress giving access to the main Schmitten ski area. It is also only 800m from the night slope served by the Ebenbergbahn. Although there is superb skiing of all abilities and levels there is also an easy access nursery slope just a few minutes bus ride or drive away.

The apartment comprises of an open plan lounge area, with a dining area and a modern kitchen, with dishwasher, fridge freezer and oven, a flat-screen TV and DVD player are provided. Apartment Freya features free WiFi throughout the property. Suitable for couples, friends or families, there is a travel cot and high chair that can be arranged with the owner before arrival. There is a linen charge and all bedding and towels are provided.

TrassXpress is 1.8 km from Apartment Freya, while Schmittenhöhebahn is 1.9 km away. Guests can enjoy various activities in the surroundings, including horse riding, windsurfing and hiking. Zell am See boasts a sailing club and several golf courses.

The nearest airport is Salzburg W. A. Mozart Airport, 76 km from Apartment Freya. The airport has hire car facilities on site, (the staff speak English) and a bus link or taxi to the main Hauptbahnhof ( train station ) where you could catch a train to Zell am See. The trains are regular and we suggest checking the English page of the OBB website for timetables and routes.

As an experienced skier, who has skied all over the Alps, I decided Zell was the place for me to buy an apartment, I hope that you will enjoy the skiing as much as I do. In summer the historic old town and lake make superb sailing and golfing holidays, the area is very popular for hiking and mountain biking . How could anyone resist the inspiring scenery? Perfect for painting and photography enthusiasts.

Why Mike chose Zell am See

We maintain the property to a high standard, with some Austrian flair. We aspire to achieve the comfort of an hotel, with the convenience of self catering and independence that an hotel can't offer. The location was what tempted us to buy - with the ice rink and swimming pool directly opposite and just a stones throw from the petrol station, with a 24/7 convenience store, a skip and a jump away from the lake, the lido , mini golf and play area, why book any where else?

The apartment by day flooded with light, its spacious and quiet, so conveniently placed to walk anywhere.

We decided we wanted the authentic experience of a holiday apartment in a residential block , rather than a commercial holiday letting block, and not have the hassle of sharing a"holiday complex" property pool with a huge number of families competing for use. Instead, it was preferable to use the well maintained, beautiful public pool and outdoor heated lido.

The ski lift is so close by you can rent a locker by the lift or leave your skis/board in the basement of the apartment, depending on how much you have exerted yourself on the slopes. For kids and beginners the nursery slopes are perfect, and for the experienced, demanding skier ( like myself) there is enough variety of piste to keep you interested- and the glacier so close by, if you need a ski - fix in summer !

We have updated the property, since taking ownership and maintain it to our own high standards, whilst keeping a homely, comfortable atmosphere.

The property is smart enough to suit a professional couple , and as owners we are accommodating enough to welcome families . Though strictly no pets, or smoking.

For privacy there is a balcony with views of the traditional houses in the town and the mountain backdrop.

Notes:
The apartment is directly opposite the beautiful modern indoor pool and icerink, the lake and historic town centre are less than 300m walk away. There are castles galore and stunning ice caves near by not to mention the Krimml waterfalls, Thermal spa & wellness centres of Gastein and Kaprun. Salzburg city is an hour and a half drive away. The railway station is also approx 500m walk connecting you to Salzburg and Innsbruck, while the bus station is near the town centre. There are a variety of restaurants and bars, cafes and supermarkets all a short walk away. The apartment block is contemporary architectural style with modern fixtures and fittings. Perfect for skiing in winter and sailing , hiking, mountain biking in summer. The lake and heated lido are so close that a pool is unnecessary.

Our fourth stay in this lovely apartment. It is located in the centre of Zell am See so good access to the lake and the cable cars. A bright, clean and well equipped apartment that provides you with everything needed for your stay. It has a secure car park.
